Old video of Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai dancing on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge song resurfaces. Watch

The song 'Tujhe Dekha Toh' from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is as iconic as the film itself. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, the film and its music defined an entire generation's idea of love and romance. However, in a video that has resurfaced online, the fans get a glimpse of what the film would have looked like in a parallel universe, as actors Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan can be seen dancing together on the track. Their chemistry in the video has left viewers wondering—what if?
While Aishwarya is dressed in an elegant pink lehenga, Aamir can be seen wearing a leather jacket similar to the iconic one that Shah Rukh Khan wore in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. Both actors seem to be giving it their all at what looks like an award function, and Aamir even gets on his knees in the middle of the choreography. Sung by Kumar Sanu and the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, everything from the song's lyrics to visuals became etched in people's minds and still remains an important track from the careers of everyone involved in it.

There have been other instances of 'what-if?' situations with Aamir and Aishwarya, as director Dharmesh Darshan revealed in an interview that he wanted to cast Aishwarya opposite Aamir on several occasions. Darshan told Bollywood Hungama that Aishwarya was his first choice for both Mela and the role of Memsaab in Raja Hindustani (1999), but he was worried if she would be able to give her full attention to the films. He said, 'She was also my first choice for the role of Memsaab in Raja Hindustani (1996). My heart was on her. But she urgently had to go for Miss World. I didn't want to take any chances, as I wanted an actress who could devote her full time to the film and Bollywood. It was her sheer grace that she didn't hold it in her heart.'
The duo could have also worked together in the film Josh (2000), as director Mansoor Khan wanted to cast Aamir Khan as the romantic interest of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but things didn't go according to plan. In an interview, Mansoor said, 'I was intending to cast Aamir as the romantic lead opposite Aishwarya. But when I narrated the script to Aamir, he thought he was playing Max. Then I went to Shah Rukh; he was really excited about Max. I narrated it to him; he suggested a lot of things for Max's character.' Mansoor admitted that casting both Aamir and Shah Rukh in the same film didn't work out, and he ultimately had to drop the plan.

Aamir Khan Says He Still Believes In Marriage: ‘I Could've Faked It With Kiran, But Didn't'

Last Updated: Aamir Khan was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children - Ira and Junaid. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, and the two co-parent their son Azad. Aamir Khan is currently promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, but the actor recently got candid about his personal life in an interview with Zoom. The 59-year-old star reflected on his two divorces and his current relationship with Gauri Spratt. Speaking about the emotional toll of separation, Aamir said, 'In India, marriage is a very serious thing. When your marriage breaks, you go to divorce, and people don't like that. Emotionally, they don't like it either. I know that too, and I also believe that marriage is a very important thing and shouldn't be taken lightly. I completely agree with that. That's why I can present this matter truthfully in front of people, and I should. I do speak the truth that I was married to Reena, but we can no longer stay married, or I was married to Kiran, and now we can no longer stay married. So, it's a loss for all of us. Our families are not happy with this and we are also not doing it happily." Aamir further added that pretending to be in a happy marriage would have been dishonest. 'I can pretend that Kiran and I are happy together and we can live like that our whole lives and personally, I can do whatever I want, she can do whatever she wants, but in the eyes of the world, we are still married. We can live like that too, but that would be a lie." In a moment of lightheartedness, the actor added with a smile, 'Shaadi me main kamyab nahi hua hun, lekin divorce me main hua hoon (I wasn't successful in marriage, but I've been successful in divorce)." The actor also said that he still believes in the institution of marriage. 'It's a very old institution and I have the deepest regard in my heart for this institution. It's a very beautiful feeling. I would want that every person gets to experience this," he added. Aamir Khan was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children – Ira and Junaid. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, and the two co-parent their son Azad. In March this year, on his 60th birthday, Aamir made headlines by publicly introducing his girlfriend Gauri Spratt to the media in Mumbai. The couple has since made several appearances together. Kajol on working with Ajay Devgn in Maa: 'My husband harassed me a lot... but also said I'm lucky to be Nysa's friend'

Kajol is all set to return to the big screen in a never-seen-before avatar with Maa, a mythological horror film directed by Vishal Furia . Produced by her husband Ajay Devgn under the Devgn Films banner, the movie is slated for release in theatres on June 27. During the film's promotional run, Kajol opened up about working with Ajay Devgn in a professional capacity, and, in true Kajol fashion, did it with wit and humour. 'What should I say about this producer? Mujhe bohot harass aur tang kiya hai isne (He harassed me a lot). No one will believe it,' Kajol said in a chat with Bollywood Hungama, bursting into laughter. She then quickly added on a serious note, 'No. He was quite a wonderful producer. I have to say that about him.' Kajol recalls Ajay Devgn's perspective on gender roles In the same conversation, Kajol shared a personal moment with her husband that reflected his admiration for her ability to juggle various roles as a woman. Recalling a conversation they once had, Kajol said: 'My husband Ajay ji once told me, 'You are so lucky. You don't know how lucky you are. You can become Nysa's friend. You will eventually become a grandmother. Kajol Bashes Paparazzi Culture, Calls Them ‘Disrespectful, Disturbing'

Last Updated: Kajol criticized paparazzi for invading personal space, especially at funerals and private moments. She finds it disturbing to be followed. Celebrities have often spoken out about how the paparazzi cross the line. Now, Kajol has also shared her own thoughts. In a recent interview, she opened up about how uncomfortable it feels when photographers don't respect personal space. When asked what she would change about the paparazzi culture, Kajol told Bollywood Hungama, 'I am a little conscious with paps. I think there are certain places where they shouldn't be. Like I find it very strange when they run after actors at someone's funeral and ask for photos. I find that odd and a little disrespectful. I find it strange that you cannot even go for lunch." She also spoke about how unsettling it is to be followed. 'They follow you for kilometres from Juhu to Bandra to look where I am going and which building I am going to. I find that disturbing. If I were a normal person, would you do that? Wouldn't I have taken you to the cops and said this person is following me? What should I tell the cops now?" she said. Kajol isn't the only one feeling this way. Alia Bhatt had earlier called out paps for taking photos of her while she was at home. Actor Rana Daggubati also had a run-in with photographers at the airport after one of them accidentally bumped into him. Meanwhile, Kajol is getting ready for her next film Maa, a horror drama directed by Vishal Furia and backed by Devgn Films. She plays the lead role, and the story follows a mother trying to protect her daughter from an evil curse in a haunted village. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma. It's set to release in theatres on June 27. Kajol, the daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, stepped into the world of films with Bekhudi in 1992 while she was still in school. She later chose to leave her studies to pursue acting full-time. Her early successes came with hit films like Baazigar (1993) and Yeh Dillagi (1994). Kajol became one of the most popular stars of the 1990s thanks to iconic romantic films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), both of which also won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Apart from romance, she impressed critics with intense performances in Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997), where she played a psychopathic killer, and Dushman (1998), where she took on the role of a woman seeking revenge.
