ICAI Nagpur holds traffic awareness, two-wheeler rally on Independence Day
He paid tributes to all freedom fighters for their contribution in getting freedom for the coutry. He said that independence gives us responsibilities with rights as the citizen of India. He urged the members and students to value independence by contributing professionally and individually to the development of the country.
A traffic sense programme was organised jointly with Vibrant Road Safety Awareness Foundation followed by a two-wheeler rally.
CA Jaydeep Shah, past president of ICAI, reflected on the importance of freedom and the responsibility that comes with it. "As we celebrate our nation's independence, let's also remember our duty to preserve it for future generations," Shah said. He appreciated the efforts of Nagpur branch and congratulated the team lead by Dinesh Rathi for organising various programmes for the benefit of the members and students.

India's logistics cost will drop to single digits by 2026, says Nitin Gadkari; to boost competitiveness - here's how much it is in China, America
(Photo credit: PTI) Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that India's logistics cost will come down to single digits by the end of 2026, making the country more competitive in global trade. "I want to assure the Prime Minister and all of you that before the end of 2026, the logistics cost of our country will come in the single digits, which will be very important for our exports. We will become even more competitive," Gadkari said while addressing an event in New Delhi. Currently, India's logistics cost stands at around 14-16%, compared to 8% in China and 12% in the US and Europe, he added. The minister made these remarks at an event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two major National Highway projects worth nearly Rs 11,000 crore, the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). The 10.1 km Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway, built at a cost of Rs 5,360 crore, will provide multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, DMRC's Blue and Orange lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka cluster bus depot. Earlier, in March 2024, the prime minister inaugurated the Haryana section of the same expressway. The sentence was handed down last week to Varun Gupta, who worked as a product marketing engineer for Intel for nearly a decade. He was fired from his senior position at Microsoft after his actions came to light. According to Assistant US Attorney William Narus, Gupta copied thousands of confidential files from his Intel computer onto a portable hard drive before leaving the company in 2020, as per a report in Oregon Live. He then 'repeatedly accessed those documents' and used them to represent Microsoft in contract negotiations with his former employer, specifically on a deal related to computer processors, the report added. 'Not only did the defendant take proprietary materials with him, he also used those materials during negotiations against his prior employer,' Narus said in a sentencing memo.
