Maura Higgins shows off dramatic living room makeover after moving into her 'dream' £1.25m Essex mansion

Daily Maila day ago
has given fans a sneak peek inside her plush £1.25million Essex mansion - unveiling a dramatic living room transformation.
The Love Island favourite, 34, shared a before-and-after look with her 3.7million Instagram followers on Monday on her new home Instagram account.
Maura showed how the once sparse space, pictured with just two slouchy white beanbags and a boxed-up TV, has been completely transformed into a snug lounge.
Gone were the empty walls and floors and in their place, a plush white and cream sofa, a matching ottoman, soft rugs, candles and warm lighting.
The Irish beauty, who first shot to fame in 2019, has finally fulfilled her dream of upgrading from her modest one-bed flat to a five-bedroom home.
The upgrade comes after Maura's meteoric rise to fame, from her breakout stint on Love Island to presenting Love Island USA, starring in I'm A Celebrity, and bagging her latest role in The Traitors US.
Speaking about her ambitions, Maura previously said she always knew she wasn't destined to stay in rural County Longford, marry her teenage boyfriend and open a hair salon. 'That wasn't my dream, I wanted more,' she once declared.
Earlier this year, she splashed her hard-earned £3.2million fortune on the luxury pad, which boasts an en-suite master bedroom, four further bedrooms, an expansive kitchen with an island, and black French doors leading to a landscaped garden.
Overjoyed, Maura shared to her Instagram followers a picture of her new kitchen with a chandelier and grey floors, which she bought in October, with the caption 'Bought my dream house'.
Maura's previous home was raided by three-masked men and so the Love Island star has ensured her new home was in a gated development which provides privacy and security.
After first sharing the news of her new home in October, Maura had barely gotten the keys to her new house when she entered the jungle in November for a four-week stint in Australia.
Maura entered the Love Island villa in 2019 and after almost six years in the spotlight with lucrative brand deals, she has amassed a fortune of an estimated £3.2million.
Maura recently shared how she escaped working in a hair salon in Ireland to become a ring girl for the brand Monster against the wishes of her then-boyfriend and dad.
The influencer said: 'I wanted to do more and travel the world. I'm young, why not?'
Her time with Monster caught the eye of ITV recruiters for Love Island, who approached Maura multiple times before she finally accepted as revenge against her boyfriend, which has now landed her a multi-million-pound fortune.
Maura previously shared with her Instagram followers a picture of her new kitchen with a chandelier and grey floors, with the caption 'Bought my dream home'
Her big home purchase came after she treated herself to a new £60,000 Porsche just before heading into the I'm A Celebrity jungle in November.
Maura became the proud owner of a Porsche Macan, which typically ranges in price from £60,000 to £98,00.
Sharing a photo from inside her new car, she showed off its luxurious all-white leather interior.
Maura captioned the post: 'My baby has arrived finally,' along with a white heart emoji.
It comes after Maura displayed her toned physique in a summer minidress on the weekend as she shared a glimpse of her lavish lifestyle in an Instagram post.
The former Love Island star, 34, stunned as she enjoyed a picnic in the sun while wearing an ivory and pink milkmaids dress.
In a second image she looked happier than ever after pulling on a pair of thigh-skimming shorts and fedora hat for a bike ride.
Another snap captures Maura enjoying a mint ice cream, while wearing a ruffled dress in a similar colour.
She also shared a glimpse of herself in more casual attire, including a bright pink T-shirt dress branded with the Love Island logo.
The brunette later posed for a fun snap with her pals as they made funny faces for a photo collage.

David Beckham speaks 'as a father' in 'family' announcement after latest Brooklyn snub

David Beckham shared an update on 'family' after more speculation of a Brooklyn Beckham rift as the former footballer made a business announcement on social media David Beckham took to Instagram to share his latest "family" news amid a fallout with son Brooklyn Beckham. While his home life has been grabbing the headlines, it's his Bee Up Snacks that the former footballer was keen to rave about in his latest upload. ‌ Sharing a nu,ber snap from his Inter Miami stadium, Becks wrote: "Excited to welcome the @intermiamicf_academy to the @beeupsnacks family. ‌ "This project has always been about fuelling kids with a snack that uses a natural source of energy… so to bring BEEUP and youth sports together is something I've been passionate about from the start @beeupsnacks." ‌ Among those liking and commenting on his post was the club's academy, with the official account writing: "Fueling dreams together!" His new business was formed five years ago when Beckham was said to have become obsessed with beekeeping during lockdown. The brand's website reveals why the sports star first produced the products. It reads: "As a father and former athlete, it's always been important to me to give my kids wholesome alternatives to sweets. That's why I created BEEUP—a new snack brand rooted in honey, my love for family, and active living." ‌ However, while mentioning his kids in the blurb, it's thought Becks and eldest son Brooklyn are still at loggerheads and not speaking to each other. In the latest heartbreak for Becks and his wife Victoria Beckham involving Brooklyn, 26, the duo weren't invited to their son's renewal of his vows to wife Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn and Nicola flooded their social media pages with cosy snaps of their vow renewal surrounded by family recently. However, rather crucially nobody from Brooklyn's side appeared to have been invited to the nuptials. ‌ In the sweet photos, bride Nicola was seen surrounded by her loved ones. She also wore her mum's wedding dress to honour her. Nicola's dad Nelson also took a starring role in the ceremony as he officiated the proceedings as the couple gazed lovingly into each other's eyes. But as renewed their vows just three years after getting married in a $3million bash at the Peltz family's sea front estate in Florida, no other Beckhams were in sight. Despite the distance between the parties, David and Victoria have maintained a stoic bond with their eldest son - regularly liking his Instagram photos and including them in their posts, even though they are not talking. ‌ Brooklyn's absence from David's 50th birthday had already fuelled talk of a rift, but sources claim their son's latest move 'was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria.' An insider has claimed to the Sun that David and his wife Victoria, 51, have been left heartbroken after learning about the vow renewal online. "Seeing Nelson having such a pivotal role at the ceremony was heartbreaking for David especially," they said. ‌ "Not one member of the 30-plus extended family knew about the wedding, or were invited. His grandparents are devastated too as Brooklyn has always been so close to them. "It feels cruel and spiteful. This is no longer a game. It has gone beyond all that. This is a family who feel they have lost their precious boy – and see no way back."

Guests and release date revealed for second season of Meghan's lifestyle show

Netflix has released a trailer for season two of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show – a day after the Sussexes announced a watered-down deal with the streaming giant. The teaser, which Meghan also shared on her Instagram, revealed that the next instalment of With Love, Meghan will air in two weeks' time on August 26. Among the celebrity guests joining the former Suits star during the eight episodes will be US model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye star Tan France, as well as podcaster Jay Shetty and his cookbook author wife Radhi Devlukia. Also appearing will be chefs Samin Nosrat, Clare Smyth, Christina Tosi, Jose Andres and David Chang, and Meghan's close friends, pilates instructor Heather Dorak and make up artist Daniel Martin. The trailer, to the soundtrack of Bobby Day's upbeat Rockin' Robin, showed Meghan cooking, baking and crafting with her celebrity friends and saying: 'I love the idea of just spending time together … and finding new ways to show people you care.' She adds while being shown wrapping a gift: 'There are easy ways to show up, lovingly.' Meghan also reveals the Duke of Sussex is not a fan of lobster. She tells Andres as they prepare a dish together: 'Do you know who doesn't like lobster? My husband,' with the chef replying, prompting laughter from Meghan: 'And you marry (sic) him?' On Monday, Harry and Meghan announced a 'multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects', in contrast to their reported 100 million dollar (£74 million) contract five years ago. PR and crisis expert Mark Borkowski described it as a 'downgrade', and suggested Netflix was 'pivoting away' from Harry and Meghan. Season one of With Love, Meghan was savaged by critics. One review in The Guardian described it as a 'gormless lifestyle filler' and 'so pointless it might be the Sussexes' last TV show'. The series has a 3.2 rating out of 10 on Netflix said at the time that the second season had already finished filming. The duchess officially launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, in which Netflix is a partner, just hours after season one premiered in March. She has gone on to sell jam, pre-made baking mixes, herbal tea and rose wine – as well as flower sprinkles, which she heavily promoted during the programme and which are also seen being used in the new trailer.

BBC Radio Scotland's Bryan Burnett to return to airwaves after cancer treatment

BBC Radio Scotland presenter Bryan Burnett will return to the airwaves on Thursday after undergoing cancer treatment. The broadcaster announced in June he would step back from his programme Get It On to receive care for appendix cancer. Fellow presenter Grant Stott, who stepped in during his absence, announced his return to listeners on Tuesday night. He said: 'In what must have been a terrible time for Bryan and his family and close friends, I'm just delighted I was able to help by looking after something that is very precious to Bryan; Get It On and his listeners. 'Getting to do the show over this time has shown me just how close the audience is to Bryan and vice versa. 'I know they will be delighted to get their radio teatime pal back.' Burnett said his treatment had been successful and thanked those who had wished him well throughout his recovery. Commenting on his return, he said: 'I am delighted to be returning to work following successful treatment for appendix cancer. 'Over the past few months I have been focused on my recovery and have been supported by an incredible medical team, my family and friends, and the overwhelming kindness of so many BBC Radio Scotland listeners who have reached out with encouragement and well-wishes. 'Their messages, cards and kindness have meant so much. 'My team at the BBC have also been a huge support and I want to thank Grant Stott, who has been sitting in for me and done such a great job looking after the show. 'My return to work will be gradual to ensure I maintain my health and energy. Cancer has given me a renewed perspective on what matters most and I am excited about the road ahead and grateful for the opportunity to return to doing what I'm passionate about.' Hayley Valentine, director BBC Scotland, said: 'Like the Get it On listeners, everyone at BBC Scotland is delighted to be welcoming Bryan back to the studio following what has been a tough couple of months for him. We look forward to seeing and hearing him back where he belongs.' Stott will share Get it On presenting duties with Bryan during his phased return. Burnett's first Get it On show will be Thursday 14 August 14 6pm to 8pm.
