Cain and Tracy's world turned upside down by fresh Nate news in Emmerdale

Metro21-07-2025
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley's (Amy Walsh) attempt at trying to work out who killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) was brought to a sudden halt in tonight's episode of Emmerdale, as DS Walsh arrived with some news.
Last week, Cain and Tracy made progress when they both admitted they now believe neither of them killed Nate. They hugged, and then concluded they might be able to find the real culprit if they work together.
At Tracy's, Cain was sitting at a table with a notepad beside him. The two characters were discussing residents who had clashed with Nate before his death.
After ruling out Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Tracy then suggested it might be one of Nate's pals or work colleagues. This prompted Cain to circle a handful of names from Butlers Farm – including John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
The opportunity to get even the tiniest bit closer to the truth was then interrupted thanks to DS Walsh knocking at the door.
As she entered, she revealed the police had made a major development regarding Nate.
Prior to her arrival, DS Walsh was at Owen's (Simon Haines) house. She had been called by Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), who discovered Owen and believed he had ended his life.
Last Friday, John paid him a visit as part of his job at the surgery, but found him unconscious.
Aware that Tracy and Cain were desperate for news on Nate's investigation, John let Owen die, and then wrote a confession on his laptop, saying that he killed Nate following a roadside altercation.
Back at Tracy's, Walsh had updated her and Cain on Owen and they were stunned. They struggled to believe that a random guy they had never met was responsible for killing Nate – and for really no reason at all.
But with the confession detailing Owen planting Nate's phone, and revealing where his car had been hidden, it was a massive sign for Walsh that she'd soon be able to declare case closed. More Trending
As Tracy and Cain attempt to process this twist, attention will turn to Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) as the week continues.
Suspicious of his sibling once more, Robert will make contact with Owen's brother, who confirms he has a solid alibi for the day Nate was killed.

EastEnders' Patrick terrified with anxiety as he's released from hospital

EastEnders icon traumatised following shocking attack in his own home. EastEnders legend Patrick Trueman is left visibly shaken and deeply traumatised this week as he returns home from hospital following a brutal and unexpected attack that has left him riddled with anxiety. Patrick, played by the legendary Rudolph Walker, is clearly traumatised after being attacked in his own home. The once-cheerful, confident cornerstone of Albert Square now struggles to feel safe in the place he's always called home. It all starts when Patrick and Howie place a risky bet behind Yolande's back. The gamble pays off, and they walk away with £6,000, but the victory is short-lived. Yolande is furious when she finds out and calls off their wedding, leaving the household tense. While the family drown their sorrows at The Vic, trouble is quietly brewing at home. Oscar, desperate and foolish, breaks into No.20 to steal the winnings. But when Patrick unexpectedly catches him in the act, Oscar panics. In a split-second decision that would change everything, he shoves Patrick, who falls and hits the ground hard, leaving him unconscious and alone. Oscar, attempting to flee, is stopped in his tracks when Howie returns home to a nightmare. Oscar hides until he decides to make a run for it. Howie spots a figure fleeing, but can't make out who it is. Moments later, Kim and Denise walk in and find Patrick lying motionless on the floor. Panic sets in fast. Yolande and the family then rush to the hospital, where they wait helplessly for news, riddled with guilt and fear. For Yolande, the sight of Patrick fighting for his life is devastating. Their argument over the bet seemed suddenly meaningless as she fears she might lose the man she loves. Howie blames himself, while Kim and Denise are left reeling. More Trending But outside the hospital walls, suspicions were rising. Lauren begins to notice Oscar's strange and sketchy behaviour. Emmerdale fans 'work out' Ray's love interest and it could spark ultimatum

Emmerdale viewers have shared the theory that new villain Ray will end up with someone in the village after a cryptic comment from actor Joe Absolom about the ITV soap role There could be romance on the way for Emmerdale baddie Ray. Amid his plans for teenagers Dylan Penders and April Windsor, fans think Ray will end up with someone in the village. ‌ The love interest could be none other than a character linked to April and others in the Dales, and it could spark an ultimatum if it was to happen. Fans can't help but question whether Ray will be caught up in a romance, taking his dealing storyline into another direction. ‌ It comes as Ray made it clear who he was targeting this week, with a drug drop planned for one terrified teen. So if the female in question dopes embark on a romance with the villain, it would definitely divide villagers. ‌ Fans think that unlucky in love Laurel Thomas will be Ray's love interest. She's not had the best of luck recently, from a near-kiss with ex Marlon Dingle, as well as her brief fling with vicar Charles Anderson, eight years on from the death of her husband Ashley Thomas. Laurel seems to be single for now, and with her offscreen a fair bit recently fans are guessing she has a storyline on the way. Amid fears about who else Ray may target, and whether Laurel's teen son Arthur Thomas will get involved, fans are speculating Laurel and Ray will end up together. ‌ Taking to social media, one fan said: "Joe [Absolom] said Ray has charm so I'm sure he's gonna end up with someone and Laurel is at the top of my list." Another fan replied: "I'm rooting for her and Ray now." So will Laurel end up in a forbidden romance with the village villain who's targeting teens in a dark plot? It's not yet clear how long Ray is on the show for and what will happen with the storyline. ‌ It comes as he was heard telling a mystery person about April "being of use" for their dodgy dealings. It wasn't revealed who he was on the phone to, but fans think they know the identity of the caller. Some fans have gone back to the Joe Tate theory about a possible teaming up, believing they are working together. Another theory speculated that fellow newcomer Celia might be linked to Ray. One theory said: "Anyone else curious as to who Ray was on the phone with? I reckon it's someone we know like Joe." Another post echoed this theory saying: "Is Ray working with Joe?" Meanwhile another fan commented: "Imagine if Ray was working with Celia." EastEnders' Joel branded a ‘disgusting little pervert' as Ross makes a discovery

Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) has finally flipped over Joel's (Max Murray) disgusting behaviour in EastEnders. It became immediately clear when the father and son arrived in Walford alongside Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year that they were hiding a fair few skeletons in their closet. They couldn't return to their home in Australia, as Joel had upskirted a pupil in his class, and Ross had paid her family $50,000 in exchange for their silence. He's since enacted havoc on the residents of Albert Square, impregnating Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and introducing new mate Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to dangerous adult content online. Later, Joel showed Tommy videos made by a disgusting influencer, who degrades women. Joel thought this was an appropriate way to talk about the opposite sex, branding his own mum a 'slapper', talking about how she abandoned him as a child. He also sexually assaulted a passenger on the London Underground in an utterly vile move, with Vicki paying off the victim. Earlier this week, Joel discovered some big news about his estranged mother Cleo, that left him reeling. Other than Joel's derogatory comments about his mum, we don't know an awful lot about her. She contacted Ross to inform him that she was remarrying, and despite us finally finding out her name, fans are still convinced that she is none other than Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), using a pseudonym. This was fuelled by him yelling: 'Well, you ain't my mum, you don't get to tell me what to do!' during a row with Vicki, which seemed to echo a very famous 'Enders quote. As long-term fans will remember, back in 2005, Zoe screamed: 'You can't tell me what to do, you ain't my mother!', as her mum Kat (Jessie Wallace) howled back: 'Yes I am!' Joel's version coincidentally aired in the same week that Zoe returned after 20 years. Well, rather unsurprisingly, he hasn't taken it well. As we saw, he headed to The Vic to catch up with Tommy – and suggested they make things more exciting by stealing some booze from the barrel store. It didn't take long for the lads to be discovered, and Ross dragged Joel home. As he was being carted out of the pub he spurted a number of derogatory and extremely concerning comments about Kat. Back at home, Ross made another worrying discovery… In tonight's episode, Ross attempted to worm his way into Joel's mindset and learn the extent of his issues. Joel told his dad that as a man he has no rights, and continued to tear strips off Kat. Ross was at a loose end with what to say, and suggested they have a beer together and a heart to heart. Sitting down, Joel opened his laptop and played a video from the influencer he's a fan of. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Ross compared the comments to something a comedian would say on TV in the 80s – laden with sexism and misogyny. However, when alone, Ross was startled by the extend the uploader went with this vile words. With Joel out of the room, Ross then spied an email that contained a video of a girl assaulted. To make matters worse, he then found countless other clips of girls being upskirted and voyeurism. More Trending Furious, he charged into the kitchen with the laptop and drenched it under the sink, revolted at what his son was capable of. As he branded him a 'revolting, arrogant, disgusting little pervert', Joel pleaded for forgiveness. But Ross wasn't in the forgiving mood, telling him that not only does he need help, but it's clear there's something wrong with him. View More » What will Joel's next move be?
