Missouri women's basketball lands 4th commit from portal, as FAU rookie follows former HC
Kellie Harper and company are up to four commitments out of the transfer portal.
Sydney Mains, a freshman guard who spent her rookie season with Florida Atlantic, announced Saturday that she is transferring to Missouri women's basketball. She is following new Mizzou assistant Jennifer Sullivan, who was the head coach at FAU before reconnecting with Harper as an assistant at MU.

Mains, listed at 5 foot 10, played just three games at FAU before a season-ending injury, meaning she is likely to retain four years of eligibility, assuming that she is approved for a medical waiver.
In her three games as a rookie, she collected four rebounds in 10 minutes on the floor in a road game at Florida and went 2-of-4 from 3-point range in a game against Mercer.
Mains is a Knoxville, Tennessee, native, and played her high school basketball at Knoxville Catholic. She was a three-time Tennessee Miss Basketball finalist, won two state titles and scored 2,325 career points with 356 makes from 3-point range.

Harper spent five seasons as the coach at Tennessee, meaning she likely has some familiarity with Mains.
Knoxville Catholic's Sydney Mains (24) is guarded by Knoxville Webb's Meeyah Green (24) in the TSSAA high school basketball Division II Class AA state championship on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in Cookeville, Tenn.
Mains is the fourth player Mizzou has landed out of the portal since Harper took the helm, following Kentucky guard Saniah Tyler, Illinois State guard Shannon Dowell and Cleveland State forward Jordana Reisma.
Between incoming transfers, returners and a high school signee, the Tigers now have 10 players on the roster for next season, meaning Harper has the room to sign five more players in this window and remain within expected roster limits.

Bryce Harper makes injury confession after HR in return
The post Bryce Harper makes injury confession after HR in return appeared first on ClutchPoints. Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper missed five games after getting hit by a 95 mph Spencer Strider fastball last week. But he returned in emphatic fashion on Tuesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays. Advertisement Harper smacked a Bowden Francis offering into the bleachers in the sixth inning — his ninth home run of the campaign. The slugger admitted there is still some swelling in his surgically repaired elbow that was hit, but overall, Harper feels good. Via AP Sports: 'I felt good, body feels good,' Harper said. 'Arm is still a little sore but I feel good.' 'Yeah, there's swelling,' he said. 'I think it's going to take a minute to go down but I thought today was a good day for me to get back out there. It's definitely bruised still and all that stuff, but we're working through it.' Strider expressed remorse after accidentally plunking Bryce Harper last week, making it clear the sport is better when the superstar is healthy. That's certainly true, and there's no question Harper is a game-changer for this Phillies team. Rob Thomson and Trea Turner were both happy to have Harper back in the lineup Tuesday: Advertisement 'He makes our lineup so much better,' Thomson said. 'He affects so many different people in so many different ways,' Turner said. 'That's why he's so good.' The Phillies were just 1-4 without the 32-year-old, losing top spot in the National League East in the process. Philadelphia won the opener against the Blue Jays 8-3, with Harper going 1 for 3 with a pair of walks and two runs. Harper is now hitting .268 on the year, and although his power numbers are down, Tuesday was a step in the right direction. The Phils will need Harper to be at his best if they're going to be a World Series contender later this year. San Antonio Spurs' Potential Young Core Looks Extremely Promising
The San Antonio Spurs are quietly assembling one of the most intriguing and dangerous young cores in the NBA. With seven players aged 25 or younger, headlined by generational talent Victor Wembanyama and Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle, the Spurs have laid the foundation for what could become a long-term Western Conference powerhouse. And with the addition of De'Aaron Fox (27), a proven All-Star entering his prime, San Antonio isn't just building for the future. They're setting themselves up to compete right now. Advertisement At the center of it all is Wembanyama, the 21-year-old unicorn who was on pace to sweep Defensive Player of the Year and All-NBA honors before a shoulder blood clot ended his second season. Wemby had emerged as arguably the best two-way player in the league, averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game, all while anchoring the Spurs defensively. His rare combination of rim protection, perimeter range, and guard-like skill sets the tone for the franchise. Now comes Dylan Harper. According to ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony, Harper is the near-lock to be selected second overall by the Spurs, joining Castle and Fox in what could be a modern three-guard lineup. At 19, Harper already possesses pro-ready scoring instincts and shot 48.4% from the field at Rutgers while averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. Givony even compared his pre-draft measurements to Dwyane Wade, praise that isn't handed out lightly. Advertisement The idea of a Fox–Castle–Harper backcourt may raise concerns about shooting, but the upside is undeniable. Fox is a proven engine with speed, playmaking, and leadership. Castle brings length, athleticism, and slashing ability. Harper adds polish and natural scoring talent. Together, they offer the Spurs elite perimeter defense and pace. Beyond the guard room, Jeremy Sochan (22), Julian Champagnie (23), Devin Vassell (24), and Keldon Johnson (25) offer versatile, switchable wings who can defend, rebound, and contribute offensively. Sochan and Vassell, in particular, have flashed the ability to complement Wembanyama on both ends of the court. Johnson remains a rugged scorer with a winning mentality. While some speculated the Spurs might trade the No. 2 pick to accelerate their timeline, the front office appears committed to its long-view strategy. Rather than mortgage the future for short-term gain, they're building a balanced core of high-IQ, high-upside talent around their cornerstone in Wembanyama. Advertisement If Wemby returns healthy and continues developing into the MVP and GOAT-level player he projects to be, San Antonio could own the next decade of Western Conference basketball. With a deep, young, and dynamic core, the Spurs' rebuild looks nearly complete. Now, it's about patience, chemistry, and letting the league-adjusting talent rise to the top. One thing's for sure, the Spurs are coming. And they're coming fast. Related: How San Antonio Spurs Can Create Superteam With Giannis Antetokounmpo

NBA Draft Expert Reveals Who The Spurs Will Select As No. 2 Overall Pick; Potential Three-Guard Lineup With Victor Wembanyama
NBA draft expert Jonathan Givony recently revealed that the San Antonio Spurs will try to select Dylan Harper with their No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft. The expert revealed this item of information following the Draft Combine and, while speaking with ESPN said: "Dylan Harper is going to be the No. 2 pick in the draft," said the expert. "I am 99.9% sure about it. He also looked really, really good. Tested very well. Shot it well. His body is in a great place, he's lost 15 pounds in the last year, and he's also grown." Advertisement "He has measurements comparable to those of Dwyane Wade coming out of college. The San Antonio Spurs are signaling to teams that they are excited about the opportunity to draft Dylan Harper." Givony then went on to add something that could potentially crumble a multitude of existing trade rumors surrounding the Spurs. He said, "They are not pursuing trades from what we're hearing. They think that they can play Dylan Harper together with Steph Castle and De'Aaron Fox in the same backcourt." "Obviously, teams have some question marks about the amount of shooting on that roster," added the expert. "That is something that they are going to address at a later stage. Harper is the second-best prospect in this draft. He will go second, I believe." The Spurs are building a truly terrifying roster for the future. Already served by some tremendous young players in Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, and the reigning ROTY Stephon Castle, San Antonio presents a formidable roster. Advertisement The addition of a guard like Dylan Harper could prove to be quite effective for the team. Harper had a terrific season at Rutgers, where he averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 48.4% from the field. In a majority of mock drafts, Harper was expected to go second. In light of this, a three-guard lineup doesn't necessarily hurt San Antonio in the slightest. While the perimeter shooting is a bit of a concern, the team boasts solid scoring ability across the board. Fox makes for a tremendous playmaker alongside a consistent floor-spacing threat in Wembanyama. Castle's shot-creation ability would pair quite well with Harper's style of play. Meanwhile, a reliable veteran in Harrison Barnes remains available when in need of crucial points. Although the Spurs' second-overall pick presented them as a prime trading destination, the team may simply choose to stick to their timeline for development. Advertisement Meanwhile, recent draft projections have also revealed the type of players other teams may pursue. With the Warriors projected to select an elite shooter out of Tennessee and the Lakers projected to draft a big man in the second round, the 2025 Draft will see a lot of teams make some interesting decisions for their future.
