But the England international has now weighed in on who he considers to be football's ultimate heavyweight from a list of PUMA-branded players.
Luis Suárez, Thierry Henry and Sergio Agüero were among the household names that Rogers had to rank before eventually settling on his final pick.

Crystal Palace ownership saga takes fresh twist amid fight to stay in Europa League
Crystal Palace majority shareholder John Textor has listed his Eagle Football company for an initial public offering (IPO) in America, in the latest twist to the ownership situation at Selhurst Park. An IPO is when a private company first sells shares to the public. Advertisement Textor has been in talks to sell Eagle Football's 43 per cent stake in Palace in a bid to clear the path for them to play in the Europa League next season. FA Cup winners Palace are facing the prospect of being kicked out of the Europa League because Textor also owns a majority stake in Ligue 1 side Lyon. Although Textor has no day-to-day involvement in the running of Palace, UEFA rules prevent two teams with the same ownership playing in the same competition. It emerged last week that Textor was considering offers for Eagle Football's stake in Palace, with New York Jets owner Woody Johnson among those in talks over a £170million deal. Advertisement A consortium of sport and entertainment executives, which includes the NBA star Jimmy Butler, has also been linked with an offer for Palace. In the latest twist to the Palace ownership saga, a statement from Eagle Football said: 'Eagle Football Holdings announced that it has confidentially submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1 to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) relating to the proposed initial public offering of its ordinary shares. 'The size and price range for the proposed offering have yet to be determined. The initial public offering is subject to market and other conditions and the completion of the SEC's review process.'

Football transfer rumours: Jack Grealish to join McTominay at Napoli?
Having been left out of Manchester City's Club World Cup squad entirely, Jack Grealish is badly in need of an Italian renaissance. Having rescued one Briton from Manchester last summer in the form of Scott McTominay, Napoli could repeat the trick this year. Grealish's wages are a sticking point – the 29-year-old earns close to £300,000 a week at City following his £100m move to the Etihad in 2021 and would need to take a drastic pay cut if a permanent deal with Napoli is to be arranged. A loan deal is more likely, with City continuing to pay a portion of Grealish's wages, unless Napoli opt for another adopted Mancunian entirely, United's Alejandro Garnacho, who has also been linked with Spurs. Both the Argentinian and Grealish are thought to be available for around £40m. 'That's the dream, to play for Arsenal one day,' Ollie Watkins said in 2020, and the Aston Villa could yet get his wish, with the Gunners unsure over the €80m (£68m) price tag for Viktor Gyökeres and uncertain they can convince Benjamin Sesko to make the move to north London. With Villa missing out on Champions League qualification, Watkins could be a more feasible option. Osimhen wants a permanent move to another European giant but could yet end up in Saudi Arabia, Al-Hilal having returned with an improved bid for the Nigerian – the astounding salary on offer is thought to be close to £43m a year. Like an ex all up in your DMs, Nicolas Kühn's former club, RB Leipzig, want to re-sign the German winger from Celtic. Kühn spent three years with Leipzig at academy level, where he impressed enough as a teenager that Ajax spent €2m on him, and has continued that way in Glasgow, scheming and scuttling on the right wing to help Celtic to domestic glory and a decent run to the Champions League league phase playoffs. They are expected to demand around £15m for the 25-year-old, around five times what they paid for Kühn in January 2024.

'Realistic' LAFC not as good as Chelsea
Los Angeles FC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris admits Chelsea are at a "different level" and that his side are the minnows of the group at the Club World Cup. The former Tottenham captain, now 38, will face English opposition again at the tournament in the United States at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Advertisement When asked about LAFC's prospects, after they won a play-off match against Mexican side Club America, he said: "We have nothing to lose, especially against an opponent like Chelsea. It will be hard, European clubs can do everything quicker. "We come here with a lot of humility. We just take it game by game. I cannot hide that the standard of the other opponents are higher than ours. Especially Chelsea, then Flamengo and Tunis is a competitive club in Africa. "Listen, we just want to come here to enjoy the competition, try to get the best result we can but we also have to be realistic, to compare an MLS game and a Club World Cup game is really hard." The former World Cup-winning goalkeeper with France added it isn't just European clubs that have player workload concerns with the addition of another competition, adding: "To be honest with you, when I came to the MLS, I expected a rhythm of games less intense than in Europe but then you realise you travel a lot. Advertisement "Everywhere is the same, there are a lot of competitions and players have to adapt to the schedule. "For us, as soon as we finish the tournament, we have to go back to a routine of the MLS games which is not easy either. I am not here to question the schedule. I am just here to tell you we are enjoying being here and to do our best." Lloris also said the match has no special significance as a former Spurs player but that he still "follows the news" about the club, and saw that manager Ange Postecoglou was sacked despite winning the Europa League and was replaced by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank last week. He added: "Nothing surprises me in football. But I don't know what happened inside the club so it really hard for me to judge. If they made this decision it is because they believe there is another option which is better for the future of the club. Advertisement "Thomas Frank did amazing job at Brentford. But Postecoglou deserves a lot of credit, the players as well, it is not easy to win that kind of competition "What Ange Postecoglou did was just remarkable. He brought this Europa League trophy, he brought a lot of joy to the Spurs community, a lot of pride as well and we all have to be thankful for that."
