Pembrokeshire County Show returns with two days of fun
Held at the Pembrokeshire County Showground in Withybush, Haverfordwest, the event is expected to draw large crowds from across Wales and beyond.
Tim and Margaret Johns, presidents of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society, said: "We're thrilled to welcome our members, competitors, trade stands, sponsors and the wider community back to the county show.
"Whether you're from Pembrokeshire or visiting, we're confident you'll have a fantastic day out.
"This year's show is packed with attractions and activities for all ages.
"From top-quality livestock and delicious local food to countryside experiences and live entertainment – there really is something for everyone."
This year's show features an expanded layout, more trade stands, and a newly resurfaced area to improve the visitor and trader experience.
The Food Hall, now in a new location, will showcase a selection of Welsh produce, with live cookery demonstrations and tastings.
A new "Taste of Wellbeing" area will offer visitors the chance to explore health, nutrition, therapies, and self-care, including reflexology, nutritional advice, and mental health support.
Families can enjoy the Rentadinosaur attraction, which brings dinosaurs to life through live shows, meet-and-greets, and themed adventures.
Children will also enjoy the interactive Food Story area, where they can learn about where their food comes from in a hands-on, engaging way.
The Andrew Holmes Funfair returns once again, promising rides and activities for all ages.
The popular Country Market returns with more than 60 stalls featuring artisan crafts and local products.
The Gentle Giant Black Shire Horses from Moylegrove will make an appearance, including a special visit to Haverfordwest town centre on Tuesday, August 19.
The Craft and Horticulture section will offer creative displays, while the Countryside Park will include demonstrations of ferret handling, gundogs, beekeeping, wool spinning, willow weaving, and wood turning.
Live entertainment will take place on the Pure West Radio stage, including music, dance, guest appearances, competitions, and broadcasts.
With the second day of the show coinciding with GCSE results day, there will be career advice and information available from organisations such as Pembrokeshire College, Hywel Dda University Health Board, and the Welsh Ambulance Trust.
Visitors can get around the site easily using the land train, and there will be Blue Badge parking, a Mobiloo service, and mobility scooter and wheelchair hire.

MS for Delyn Roedd hi'n wych bod yn yr Eisteddfod yn Wrecsam yr wythnos diwethaf – it was great to be at the Eisteddfod in Wrexham last week. Last week it was good to join Clwyd East MP Becky Gittins and talk to constituents about bus travel and a range of topics at Mold market, then later on in the afternoon I headed to Gwernaffield to deliver a summer update and let residents know about one of my upcoming street surgeries – a great way for me to reach out regularly to communities across the constituency to talk about the issues that they care about. Our area also has plenty of libraries which provide not only books but help to support our communities in a range of different ways – during the summer holidays, Flintshire libraries are taking part in a programme designed to engage children in reading across the school holidays called the Summer Reading Challenge. Every penny supports MAP's vital, lifesaving work on the ground in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon and the organisation was among the first to respond to the emergency in October 2023 and remains one of the last INGOs on the ground. Alter Bridge announce Blackbird Festival at Cardiff Castle
Alter Bridge will headline the first-ever Blackbird Festival at Cardiff Castle on Saturday, June 27, 2026, marking their first performance in Wales in more than seven years. Myles Kennedy, vocalist and guitarist for Alter Bridge, said: "We realised we haven't played Wales in over seven years. "To make up for lost time, we thought it would be cool to do something extra special. "So with that said, we are stoked to announce the Blackbird Festival. The festival is Alter Bridge's first Welsh appearance in more than seven years (Image: Supplied) "Not only does this commemorate 20-plus years of being a band, but it's also a way to show our appreciation for the fans in Wales who've patiently waited for our return." Police give injury update after Coney Beach park ride leaves tracks South Wales Police issued an update and also confirmed the attraction will remain closed on Thursday Owners and emergency services responded quickly to the incident (Image: Kieran Roche) Police have issued an update on injuries after an accident at a Welsh seaside funfair. Onlookers described hearing screams of horror as the Wacky Worm ride derailed at Coney Beach Amusement Park in Porthcawl shortly before 6pm on Wednesday. The attraction was subsequently closed by police as part of a large emergency services response. A spokesman for South Wales Police said on Wednesday night: "Officers were called to Coney Beach Amusement Park, Porthcawl, Bridgend, at around 5.50pm this evening following an accident involving one of the rides. "At this time we have confirmed that 13 children and one adult have sustained minor injuries. "Some of these have required hospital treatment. "The amusement park will remain closed tomorrow while officers and health and safety personnel carry out their investigation. "Please continue to avoid the area to allow emergency services access." Coney Beach have since issued an official statement to their social media, which reads: 'Due to an incident on a third-party ride not owned by Coney Beach, we were instructed by the police to clear the site for further investigation. 'We thank you for your cooperation.'
