Kai Wagner sets up tying goal and scores the winner as the Union defeat Toronto 2-1
TORONTO — Kai Wagner set up the tying goal and scored the winner as the Philadelphia Union rallied to beat Toronto FC 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Philadelphia (10-3-3) is unbeaten in eight matches (6-0-2) in MLS play and 10 in all competitions (8-0-2) dating to a 1-0 defeat at New York City FC on April 12.
Toronto (3-9-4) has gone 3-5-0 after starting the campaign at 0-4-4.
After Nathan Harriel rose high to head home a Wagner corner in the 87th minute, Wagner added a 92nd-minute shot that deflected in off Toronto midfielder Matty Longstaff.
Ola Brynhildsen gave Toronto the lead in the 75th with his second goal of the season.
Toronto captain Jonathan Osorio, who came off the bench Saturday in his return from a shoulder injury, started for the first time since April 30.
Andre Blake was back in goal for Philadelphia after missing the last six games following a knee injury.
The Union last won in Toronto in May 2019.

During a hearing prior to the trial, the prosecution claimed they expect their case to take six weeks to argue, while Combs' legal team estimated they would need two weeks to complete their defense. However, on Tuesday, the government told the judge they believe their case will take closer to five weeks instead of six. Combs is accused of running a criminal enterprise through his various businesses. He used "firearms, threats of violence, coercion and verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse" to fulfill his sexual desires, according to the unsealed indictment obtained by Fox News Digital. According to court documents, Combs would force his victims to participate in what he called 'freak offs.' "Freak Offs were elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded," authorities stated. The indictment alleges the rapper was known to provide IV fluids to his victims following "freak offs" to recover from physical exertion and drug use. Diddy has denied the allegations against him. Metallica has ranked as one of the bestselling rock bands of all time for decades, but the group's commercial success has largely been centered around albums, not singles — at least as far as certifications are concerned. For an act that has remained hugely popular for so long, many might be surprised to learn that the rock outfit claimed only a relatively small number of RIAA-certified hits — meaning tunes that have been named gold or platinum in the U.S. – until recently. That has changed, as Metallica scores dozens of new honors from the music industry organization, and in one fell swoop, the band proves once again just how massively popular its back catalog remains. Before May 28, when the RIAA handed down a new swath of certifications to Metallica, the band had only ever scored one platinum-certified hit in the U.S. 'Enter Sandman' was named a gold smash in 2008 and a platinum success in 2009.
