When is 'Lilo & Stitch' coming to streaming? Here's our best guess
"Snow White" might not have been the mega-hit that Disney probably wanted it to be, but the studio's definitely got a hit on its hands with "Lilo & Stitch."
It's Disney's second live-action remake of the year, and sees the House of Mouse reimagining Chris Sanders' 2002 sci-fi comedy for a new generation, with "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" director Dean Fleischer Camp at the helm.
Once again, wayward alien Experiment 626 crash-lands in Hawaii, where he's mistaken for a lost dog and subsequently taken in by his soon-to-be bestie, six-year-old Lilo (Maia Kealoha), who dubs him "Stitch" and proceeds to try and teach him how to behave. Heartwarming scenes and hijinks ensue.
Reviews have been mixed, so far — it's currently sitting at 69% from critics but 93% from fans on Rotten Tomatoes — but the adorable alien critter's new adventure has already raked in over $360 million worldwide, less than a week after its premiere. And given it dropped the same day as "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning", that's no easy feat!

At the time of writing, the only way to see the new "Lilo & Stitch" movie is to head to your nearest movie theater.
As per the usual plan, before it comes to streaming, "Lilo & Stitch" will first head to Premium Video-on-Demand (PVOD) storefronts like Amazon and the Google Play Store.

And while we don't have a confirmed "Lilo & Stitch" streaming date at present, we can at least all but guarantee the movie's going to stream on Disney Plus.
As I mentioned above, early signs suggest that Disney's live-action "Lilo & Stitch" adaptation is on track to be a solid hit, so I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait a while before the movie comes to the small screen.
My current guess at a potential "Lilo & Stitch" streaming date is that the movie will arrive on Disney Plus on or around August 27, 2025.
That guess is based on the fact that we typically wait around 100 days for new Disney movies to come to Disney Plus.
Looking back at some of the most recent Disney releases, we waited 97 days for "Mufasa: The Lion King" to arrive, while "Moana 2" viewers had to wait 109 days between the theatrical and Disney Plus release of the hit sequel.
With "Lilo & Stitch" already raking in plenty of cash, though, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney kept it in theaters even longer, so maybe the streaming release won't happen until September.
Of course, this is purely speculation, as we don't have any concrete info mere days after the movie's premiere. As and when we get a confirmed Disney Plus release date for "Lilo & Stitch," we'll be sure to share it here, so keep checking back.

Big changes coming to Disneyland: ‘Monsters, Inc.' is out; ‘Avatar,' ‘Coco,' ‘Avengers' are in
Say goodbye to Monstropolis and hello to Pandora — Disneyland Resort is shuttering its 'Monsters, Inc.' ride to make way for a new 'Avatar' experience inspired by the oceans of James Cameron's sci-fi world. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026 to allow construction to begin on an 'Avatar'-themed land in the Hollywood Backlot area of Disneyland California Resort, Disney announced Thursday. Whereas the 'Avatar'-themed ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida is based on Cameron's first 'Avatar' film, the new Anaheim experience is shaped around the Pandora of 'Avatar: The Way of Water.' Imagineers first announced the 'Avatar' destination at a fan convention last summer, describing it, in true Disney fashion, as 'dynamic, intense and an emotional experience on a grand scale.' Official details on what the attraction will entail and a timeline for construction remain under wraps. Concept imagery shared on the Disney Parks Blog shows guests aboard a boat traveling through a bioluminescent lagoon and encountering a massive whale-like creature called a Tulkun that leaps from the ocean — hinting at the possibility of a water-based ride. The closure of the 'Monsters, Inc.' ride, which opened in 2006, marks the end of an era for fans of the Pixar classic. The family-friendly ride took guests on a fast-paced journey through the streets of Monstropolis, re-creating scenes from the original 2001 film as guests raced to help monsters Mike and Sulley rescue their human friend Boo. In addition to creating the 'Avatar' experience, the resort is working on a new 'Coco'-themed attraction, two new 'Avengers' attractions and a parking structure. Disney announced Thursday that construction on the 'Coco' adventure was set to begin in the fall. 'The attraction will be filled with the characters — and music! — you know and love from the beloved movie, as you join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead,' said Disney in a blog post. 'This marks the first-ever 'Coco' ride in a Disney park!' No timeline is available for the construction of the attractions in the Avengers Campus at Disneyland California Adventure. The new parking structure will be built on the east side of Disneyland Resort and provide around 6,000 parking spaces as well as shuttle and rideshare areas. A pedestrian bridge will be added to connect Harbor Boulevard to the transportation hub. 'This is just the beginning of exciting growth here at Disneyland Resort,' Disney said in a blog post. 'We look forward to sharing more about all of these projects in the future.'

Foster Puppy Shaking in 'Pain and Fear', Little Girl Knows Just What To Do

A puppy who was rescued in the most distressing of circumstances has found comfort and safety, thanks to the efforts of one little girl with a big voice. Nani was one of three puppies found huddled close together in a cardboard box by police in Drost Park, Maryville, Illinois on Wednesday, May 21. By the time they made it to Metro East Humane Society (MEHS) in Edwardsville a little later that day it was clear the pups were in a bad way. "They were shaking out of both pain and fear, and they smelled like yeast," Mady O'Reilly, Development Manager at MEHS, told Newsweek. "They were all suffering from a severe case of demodex mange that was left for too long without treatment, which then turned into an infection." Nani was serenaded by Aspen Fisher. Why they were abandoned in such distressing circumstances is unclear, but O'Reilly is keen not to pass judgement. "It's easy to imagine and say the worst about whoever left these pups, but the bigger picture is that on a national level there are more animals than homes, vet care is expensive, and too many people are overwhelmed without support," she said. MEHS immediate focus has been on ensuring Nani, Lilo and Stitch get the care they need. Finding foster homes for each of the three puppies was the first step to that. "They have all landed in separate foster homes where they get medicated baths every 3-4 days with some additional oral antibiotics and pain medication to keep them comfortable as they heal," she said. For now though, the focus is on healing, which is something the MEHS foster carers play a key role in. O'Reilly said: "Our vet staff is amazing, but there are SO many pets to care for and keeping a consistent medicated bath schedule is much more attainable in a foster home. Not to mention how much more comfort fosters are able to give than a shelter kennel." Studies have shown the impact this one-on-one care can have on a shelter dog. In 2018, a study in the journal Applied Animal Behavior Science concluded that just 15 minutes of one-on-one petting was enough to boost the wellbeing of a shelter dog. Footage captured by Nani's new foster carer, Nev Fisher, has further highlighted the important role family settings like hers can play in helping shelter dogs. Metro East Humane Society O'Reilly said: "Before Nani even went to foster with the Fishers, I got a text from Nev who said her son Chase, after seeing a picture of Nani, had said 'those puppy's eyes are like sparkling brown diamonds desperate to be fostered.'" It was clear Nani was headed to the right home to help her recuperate but if any further proof was needed, it came in a moment captured by Fisher, showing her daughter Aspen serenading Nani, from just outside her crate. "Don't cry," Aspen sings in the video. "You'll feel better in no time." O'Reilly couldn't help but get emotional watching the footage. A clip of Aspen singing, shared on the @metroeasthumanesociety's TikTok page at the end of May, amassed more than 1,000 views alone. "I was fighting back tears," she said. It was one thing for her to be singing to her, but the lyrics? There's so much to be said about the healing connection of pets and people, and that moment just about says it all." While there's a long road ahead before Nani can begin to imagine a forever home of her own, it's clear she's in the best possible place to help her get there and so much of that is down to Fisher, Aspen, Chase and everyone at MEHS. "It really just is so inspiring to see the next generation of animal advocates jumping in and just understanding exactly how important their role is in making the world a safer place for pets like Nani," O'Reilly said. "It makes doing the hard work we do on a daily basis feel less isolating to know we're not alone in this and that more help is not just coming - it's here."
