Ilona Maher and Sisters Shut Down Taylor Swift ‘Scammy' Claims

Ilona Maher and Sisters Shut Down Taylor Swift 'Scammy' Claims originally appeared on Parade. U.S. rugby star and Olympian Ilona Maher and her sisters Olivia and Adrianna are not here for the Swiftie skepticism. On this week's episode of their podcast House of Maher, the trio dove headfirst into the cultural firestorm surrounding Taylor Swift's long-awaited victory of reclaiming ownership of her music. After a years-long public feud with Scooter Braun — who bought the rights to her first six albums in 2019 when his company acquired Big Machine Records from Scott Borchetta — Swift now owns everything. 'Very good. Happy for her,' said Ilona, 28. 'All my respect to T-Swift. All of it.' The sisters weren't just supportive. They were stunned that anyone could view Swift's move as controversial. 'I think the touch grass element of this is that people called this move 'scammy' by her,' Olivia said. 'That it was scammy for her to do, which I'm like, what are you talking about?' Added Adrianna, 'Because she had her 'Taylor's versions.' They're saying that she made so much money off of releasing 'Taylor's versions' of her stolen albums, that her buying them back is 'scammy' because other people bought those bodies of work.' To recap: When Braun's Ithaca Holdings purchased Swift's master recordings — spanning Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation — Swift vowed to re-record the albums herself. The result was a series of 'Taylor's Versions' that not only reasserted her creative control but reshaped the music industry playbook for artists fighting to own their work. Then, on May 30, Swift announced that it was all hers. 'I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made... now belongs... to me,' Swift wrote on her website. 'And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work." For Olivia, that legacy now lives in stereo. 'Now there are two beautiful bodies of work,' she said. 'Because those versions are slightly different.' Ilona, not (yet) a full-on Swiftie, is ready to make the leap. 'I have a lot of respect for her,' she said. 'I listen to a little bit of everything. I want to get on the Taylor Swift bandwagon because people who love her, love her.' Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift Moving from ‘Vacation Mode' to Minicamp

Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift Moving from 'Vacation Mode' to Minicamp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. A shroud of uncertainty surrounded Travis Kelce following the Kansas City Chiefs' embarrassing loss in Super Bowl LIX. Many anticipated the future Hall of Fame tight end retiring from football had the Chiefs won and made history with a "three-peat." Advertisement Unfortunately, that was not the case and he declined to provide any clarity on his future postgame. It has since been revealed that he will suit up for one more season, taking on a farewell tour with the Chiefs. But part of his brief absence from the spotlight had to do simply with getting away. He and his girlfriend, pop music megastar Taylor Swift, wanted some time to escape together. Swift had just finished her worldwide Eras Tour and Kelce completed another grueling and lengthy season. The NFL's biggest power couple have gotten their time together, enjoying life without cameras or critics following their every step. The latest of their offseason fun came Wednesday night when the couple was seen heading to dinner, enjoying the night together in Florida. Advertisement Surely the two will be up for more adventures in the future, but the time of the offseason is winding down. Kelce is not in the grind of the season just yet, but the Chiefs have some key dates coming up on the calendar. Mandatory minicamp begins next week for Kansas City, just over a month out from training camp set to begin on July 21. Before too long, No. 87 will be back on the field for his final campaign. And with the relationship still going strong, fans should expect to see Swift watching from a luxury suite per usual, cheering on her beau with friends and family gathered around. Taylor Swift Not At Fault For Travis Kelce's Predicted Fate

Taylor Swift Not At Fault For Travis Kelce's Predicted Fate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Behind every good man, there's a good woman. And behind every declining tight end ... there is a distraction-causing pop star? Advertisement Nah. The Kansas City Chiefs are a dynasty most of all because they have the best quarterback in the NFL in Patrick Mahomes. Having one of the best-ever coaches in Andy Reid is also in play. But having the best tight end in the sport for the better part of a decade? That is Travis Kelce. He's a foundational reason for the Chiefs. And he's giving it one more go, it seems, before he opts for a retirement from football and a continuing romance with Taylor Swift. Along the way? After a decade spent dominating the sport, his production is declining, too. ... and is predicted to continue to do so. ... with some Chiefs fans saying the same thing about Kelce's drop in Pro Football Focus' tight end rankings, which landed him at No. 7. ... Advertisement You know. That "love'' has gotten in the way of football. That it's somehow all Taylor's fault. But the truth? It's about another human phenomenon: Aging. 'While Kelce has been the second-most-valuable tight end over the past two seasons, per PFF WAR, 2024 represented the lowest-graded season of his career (71.7),' John Kosko wrote for PFF. 'Age looks to be catching up to the future Hall of Famer, as his 91.4 PFF overall grade from 2022 appears to be a thing of the past.' Kelce, 25, is slotted between Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson and Philadelphia Eagles veteran Dallas Goedert. Also ahead of him are George Kittle, Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Mark Andrews, and Sam LaPorta. Advertisement Young studs are catching up. That's just the way this works. Being ranked seventh in the league is still a plus. But the days of his all-out dominance might be over. Kelce lost over half of a yard per route run and a yard after the catch per reception (per Pro Football Focus). That suggests that Kelce's explosiveness is diminished and that he isn't the same field stretcher from his years past. So maybe the Chiefs no longer have the NFL's best tight end. But a lesser Kelce can still be one who moves off into retirement with Taylor ...and with another Super Bowl ring.
