A Trilogy of Evil, A Journey of Deliverance
The 2025 Annual Reentry Conference entitled 'Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse, Human Trafficking: A Trilogy of Evil, A Journey of Deliverance' will examine inequities against women in the criminal justice system, diversion programs for women who have suffered this trauma, and a call for New Jersey state legislative reform.
The Annual Reentry Conference will be held on Holy Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Peter's University (MacMahon Student Center).
Executive Director Jim McGreevey stated, 'Women are historically in a worse position than men in the criminal justice system. Many women have suffered domestic violence, sexual abuse, or human trafficking. After prolonged periods of trauma, women respond to their attacker, particularly after physical and verbal threats are made to their children. and who react to their attacker are revictimized by the legal system.'
About 72% of the first-time female offenders convicted of violent crimes at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women had previously been abused by the victim of the crime for which they were serving their sentences, according to the March 2023 Report of the New Jersey Criminal Sentencing & Disposition Commission.

"Epstein owned and arranged for private planes, helicopters, boat and automobiles to transport victims to, from and within the Virgin Islands, and provided money to pay these young women and underage girls," the lawsuit stated. Numerous girls forced into his scheme were 12 to 17 years old, the lawsuit alleged, stating local authorities last observed related events happening in 2018. A web of companies owned by Epstein, dubbed the "Epstein Enterprise" by prosecutors, "deceptively lured underage girls and women into its sex trafficking ring with money and promises of employment, career opportunities and school assistance." One 15-year-old girl tried to escape by swimming, the lawsuit states. The estate settled the case with the U.S. Virgin Islands for $105 million in December 2022. Homeland Security claims ICE raided Kansas restaurants to ‘rescue victims of human trafficking'
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Local group Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation, or AIRR KC, says that federal agents raided two locations of El Toro Loco restaurants in Lenexa and Kansas City, Kansas on Wednesday morning, July 30. The group claimed that at least 12 employees of the restaurant were detained around 11 a.m., which is when both locations open for business. Vigil held in honor of fallen Wyandotte County Deputy Elijah Ming 'Today I saw something I never expected to witness in my own community,' said Aude Negrete, a Johnson County mother concerned by the operations. 'Federal agents storm into a local business, terrorizing people who are simply trying to build a better life.' FOX4 reached out to the Department of Homeland Security to confirm their involvement in the operations. On Friday, Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin with Homeland Security sent us the following statement: 'ICE was carrying out a criminal federal search warrant to rescue victims of human trafficking. Extremists and activists, one with their child in tow, tried to interfere with law enforcement by storming the restaurant, calling law enforcement Nazis, and attempting to keep officers from leaving the scene. Unfortunately, these types of smears and obstruction to law enforcement operations are becoming more and more common. Our brave ICE law enforcement are facing an 830% increase in assaults against them as they carry out operations.' AIRR KC says that agents cited a criminal search warrant related to an investigation of labor trafficking and exploitation as the reason for their operations. Negrete was at one of the locations after the agents left. 'The scene they left behind told us a story. Other faith leaders and community advocates spoke against the raids at a conference in front of El Toro Loco's Lenexa location on Wednesday afternoon. 'This is not a Kansas value and this is not the values of a free state and this is not the American dream that my family has benefited from and that I believe in.' IDF soldiers operate in four locations across southern Syria, arrest weapons smugglers
IDF soldiers entered four locations simultaneously and located numerous weapons that the suspects had trafficked, based on prior intelligence surveillance and in-depth field investigations. IDF soldiers from the 226th Brigade, under the command of the 210th Division, cooperated alongside Unit 504 to arrest and question several suspects involved in weapons trafficking in the Hader area in southern Syria, the military said on Sunday. IDF soldiers entered four locations simultaneously and located numerous weapons that the suspects had trafficked, based on prior intelligence surveillance and in-depth field investigations. In recent months, the IDF's 210th Division has operated in southern Syria, primarily arresting suspects and removing threats to Israeli civilians living along the border with Syria in the Golan Heights. Additionally, in July, the IDF conducted extensive airstrikes on Syrian regime forces in and around the vicinity of Sweida in southern Syria on behalf of the Druze living in the area. As of July 16, the IDF had undertaken 160 aerial attacks on Syrian regime forces, The Jerusalem Post learned. In addition, the IDF has attacked, and possibly destroyed, Syria's Defense Ministry, and also attacked part of the Presidential Palace in Damascus. Dozens or more Syrian regime forces are said to have been killed in IDF attacks. IDF sources said that the military is ready for a multi-day campaign to convince Syrian regime forces to withdraw from Sweida and leave the Syrian Druze their autonomy.
