Based on the bestselling crime novels by Lee Child, Alan Ritchson stars as the hulking former Military Policeman who now lives a nomadic existence, bringing justice to wrongdoers and crime lords across the United States. The first three seasons have proven a hit for the streamer so far, with the fourth outing based on Child's 2009 book Gone Tomorrow just around the corner. Netflix subscribers may recognise Noel as Cherry 'Junkchain' Bang, one of the main characters in the streamer's hit TV series GLOW. In the latest set photos, shared on Instagram, Reacher's latest female lead was all smiles in a practical outfit of a pair of black suit trousers and a purple vest. First look at Jamie Lee Curtis' new movie has fans saying 'we need more films like this'
The first trailer for Ella McCay has dropped and fans are already obsessed with the film that also features Kumail Nanjiani, Ayo Edebiri, Woody Harrelson, Rebecca Hall and Julie Kavner. The first trailer for Ella McCay, a fresh comedy drama featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, has just landed and viewers are already captivated, with one declaring that "we need more movies like this". Set in 2008, the film centres on Ella (Emma Mackey), a successful young politician juggling the peaks and valleys of her chaotic family dynamics alongside her blossoming career. Packed with A-list talent, Jamie and Emma are joined by an impressive ensemble including Kumail Nanjiani, Ayo Edebiri, Woody Harrelson, Rebecca Hall and Julie Kavner. Fans were quick to voice their excitement online. One Reddit user posted: "It's nice to see a family drama airing in theaters. Don't see that much anymore," reports the Express. Another remarked: "I miss seeing in trailers when it runs through all of the actors and they're all laughing." A third chimed in: "This looks like the perfect movie to walk into without much planning ahead on a random date. I like the cast." Another viewer noted: "Haven't really seen Emma Mackey outside of Sex Education (besides her small role in Barbie) but really liked her in that show, so I'm interested in seeing her playing a different type of character." One enthusiast declared: "Yes. Always lovely when a trailer actually makes you laugh." Meanwhile another added: "We need more movies like this." The picture, scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 12, comes from the direction of James L Brooks, the Oscar-winning writer and director behind As Good as It Gets (1997) and Spanglish (2004). James is set to make a grand return to the director's chair with Ella McCay, his first film in over a decade since 2010's How Do You Know, featuring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he shared: "I came from a family that wasn't roses and warm bread, and so I wanted it to be about one errant parent and getting over the loss of a parent. I never want to do anything that's not a comedy, and I always want to represent life." He also revealed the lengthy audition process that led to Emma landing the lead role, saying, "I was in an audition process for a long time. "I went to London, and very late in the game, she turned up, and that was it. In my mind, I pictured the kind of heroines that we had in the '50s and '60s, early Katharine Hepburn and Rosalind Russell. There's a certain kind of great movie star we used to have, and Emma has a lot of those same qualities." Ella McCay is set to hit the big screen on 12 December.

New favourite for huge Harry Potter role named after major cast update
They are currently the frontrunner after being cast for the same part in another series A new favourite has emerged to be cast in a pivotal role for the forthcoming HBO Harry Potter series following a major cast update. The majority of the main stars have already been unveiled for the new adaptation, including the rising young actors who will portray the eponymous character and his best mates Hermione Grainger and Ron Weasley. They are already accompanied by renowned comic actors John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Nick Frost as Hagrid. The studio has also announced its decision to cast Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape. However, it remains unconfirmed who will play the series' antagonist, Lord Voldemort. A star from Marvel and Succession is now tipped to take on the part. This follows casting news for a new audiobook series. Audible have disclosed that all the books will receive Full-Cast Audio Editions, reports the Mirror. While previous Harry Potter novels were narrated by Stephen Fry, these new versions will feature a full roster of stars portraying each character. This includes Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, leading to speculation that he is the new favourite to also play the role for HBO. Other cast members include Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall and Cush Jumbo as the narrator. The speculation surrounding Macfadyen's potential casting in the television series, which could span a decade, comes as Arabella Stanton, the young actress set to play Hermione Granger in the HBO series, is also slated to voice the character in the first three instalments of the Audible audio series. According to OBLG, the actor who portrayed Tom Wambsgans in HBO's hit drama series Succession is now even odds to also take on the role on screen, making him the current outright favourite. However, he's not the only high-profile star in contention. Other Marvel stars, a former Doctor Who and an Oscar winner are also reportedly under consideration. The current odds are: Cillian Murphy is currently considered a long shot, following the Irish actor's recent Academy Award win for his performance in Oppenheimer. He recently received endorsement from Ralph Fiennes, who played the part in the films. Speaking on a US chat show, Fiennes said: "Cillian is a fantastic actor. That's a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favour of Cillian." Interestingly, Fiennes only debuted as Voldemort from the fourth film when he is first seen in his true form, with Richard Bremmer portraying the character who must not be named when he is hiding on Professor Quirrel's head. Meanwhile, Murphy is also being tipped to be cast as the next James Bond villain.
