Markazia Toyota Takes the Lead in Motorsports with Sponsorship of Three Major Rallies - Jordan News
This month, Markazia Toyota took center stage in the motorsports scene with its sponsorship of three major rally events: Wadi Al Qamar Rally and Jordan Baja Rally, held concurrently from 10 to 12 April in Wadi Rum, and Rally Jameel, held from 21 to 26 April across Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Guided by its strong belief in the role of motorsports in fostering challenge and competition, Markazia Toyota continues to champion the growth of this exhilarating sport. اضافة اعلان Each of these events holds its own distinct significance, defined by its unique audiences and varying levels of competition. The Wadi Al Qamar Rally is famed for its rugged desert terrain, providing a true test of vehicle endurance and performance under extreme conditions. In tandem, Jordan Baja Rally - sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) - attracts top-tier drivers from across the region and stands out as a rigorous challenge, pushing machines to their limits over long and demanding desert tracks.
As part of its active participation in the Wadi Al Qamar Rally, Markazia Toyota fielded two of its models - the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux - through three official teams comprising professional drivers and influencers. The lineup included driver Natasha Dakhqan (Hilux) and her co-driver Farah Zaid Al Hammouri; driver Rami Touqan (Fortuner) and his co-driver Fahed Hasan; and driver Tamer Bseiso (Hilux) and his co-driver Saif Mansour – showcasing Toyota's off-road performance and proven reliability in desert rallying. Also competing behind the wheels of Toyota vehicles, Desert Fox joined the Wadi Al Qamar Rally with a strong lineup of drivers. The teams comprised Tareq Musharbash (Fortuner) with co-driver Ahmad Huraibat; As'ad Irsheid (Fortuner) with co-driver Hazem Al Ajlouni; and Taymour Mauge (Hilux) with co-driver Angelina Rihani. Meanwhile, in the Jordan Baja Rally, a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser was piloted by Yahya Soubar with co-driver Ibraheem Hamat, further proving the readiness of Toyota vehicles to conquer all terrains and conditions. Alongside the on-ground action, Markazia also sponsored the Baja Simulator Race, held on the sidelines of the Jordan Baja Rally using the Gran Turismo 7 racing video game. The qualifying rounds kicked off on 7 April, with the top 10 racers advancing to the finals on 11 April, where the top three winners were awarded cash prizes. In contrast, Rally Jameel has emerged as one of the most unique events in the regional motorsports calendar, dedicated exclusively to women and combining athletic challenges with a spirit of adventure and cultural exploration. This year's edition begins in Petra, Jordan, and takes racers through several Saudi cities, including Tabuk, AlUla and Hail, ultimately reaching Al Qassim. Covering over 1,500 kilometers, the rally spans diverse terrains and showcases some of the most remarkable natural and historical landscapes, making this year's iteration the largest and most varied to date.
Markazia Toyota is participating in this year's Rally Jameel with two of its world-renowned vehicles - the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - driven by two all-female teams. The first team features driver Farah Zakaria and co-driver Joy Ibrahim, whereas the second includes driver Rana Haddadin and co-driver Angelina Rehani. This participation marks a significant milestone in promoting the role of Jordanian and Arab women in high-level motorsport competitions. Markazia Group CEO, Nadim Haddad, expressed his immense pride in supporting a month packed with high-profile motorsport events in Jordan and the region, stating, "Our sponsorship of these races and rallies reflects our deep-rooted commitment to motorsports and our belief in the importance of empowering drivers and participants throughout the region. We also have great confidence in the durability and reliability of Toyota vehicles, which makes them the perfect choice for taking on the most demanding off-road challenges. We are confident these sponsorships will further reinforce Toyota's leadership in both performance and trustworthiness.' These sponsorships underscore Markazia Toyota's unwavering commitment to supporting both local and regional motorsports, while reinforcing the brand's leadership in performance and endurance within racing. They embody Markazia Toyota's confidence in the ability of Toyota vehicles to excel under the toughest desert and off-road conditions, further cementing its standing within the global motorsports arena.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Ascend the Podium Once More at Rally de Portugal
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT) is celebrating its sixth successive Rally de Portugal victory since 2019 and an unbroken streak of five wins in the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship season. Sébastien Ogier, alongside co-driver Vincent Landais, conquered 24 punishing gravel stages across northern and central Portugal in the No. 17 Toyota GR YARIS Rally1 to take first place. This victory also marks Ogier's record-breaking seventh win in the country. Teammates Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen added to the team's dominance with a strong third-place finish in the No. 69 Toyota GR YARIS Rally1. TGR-WRT now holds the top three positions in the drivers' championship, while Toyota has extended its lead in the manufacturers' standings to 55 points. Akio Toyoda, TGR-WRT Chairman, commented: 'Congratulations to Seb and Vincent for winning Rally Portugal for the second year in a row! It was a rally where we were all impressed once again by Seb's adaptability. This was Seb's first gravel rally in a long while, and his first event with the Hankook gravel tyres. Moreover, he had only one day of testing in the rain prior to the rally.' Toyoda added: 'I'm also very grateful to all the engineers and mechanics who immediately responded to Seb's feedback. His feedback gave new insights to everyone, and the whole team became even stronger. There are six more gravel rounds coming including Rally Finland, which is an important home event for us. We hope to make use of what we learned here in Portugal and drive our new silver-coloured GR YARIS Rally1 through the summer gravel rallies that await us from here on!' Rally de Portugal was the first of three consecutive hot and rugged gravel events in southern Europe that put vehicles, tires, and drivers to the test. The first full day of the rally was one of the longest of the season so far, featuring 10 stages interrupted only by two brief remote service halts. Ogier and co-driver Landais ended the day in second place, just seven seconds off the lead. Ogier engaged in a close battle the following day with the leader and took control after his rival was slowed by an issue during the rough afternoon stages. Ogier then carefully managed his advantage through a relatively long final day to ultimately seal victory by 8.7 seconds. Rovanperä and Halttunen completed a double podium for the team with a third-place finish. They also claimed second place in the Super Sunday classification and third in the Power Stage, earning valuable additional points toward the championship. Over the years, Toyota has been participating in many different forms of motorsports, including Formula One, the World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race. Toyota's participation in these events was overseen by separate entities within the company until April 2015, when Toyota established TGR, to consolidate all of its motorsports activities under one in-house brand. Representing Toyota's belief that 'the roads build the people, and the people build the cars,' TGR highlights the role of motorsports as a fundamental pillar of Toyota's commitment to making 'ever-better' cars. Harnessing years of experience gained under the extreme conditions of various motorsports events, TGR aims to forge new technologies and solutions that bring the freedom, adventure, and joy of driving to everyone. Round 6 of the 2025 FIA WRC calendar takes the championship to Rally Italia Sardegna (June 5-8). Known for its fast yet narrow gravel stages lined with exposed rocks and roadside trees, the rally presents constant challenges for drivers. High temperatures and the event's abrasive surfaces place significant stress on both vehicles and tyres.
