Toyota Motor Corporation is proud to announce the Middle East launch of the all-new Land Cruiser HEV; the first hybrid electric model in the iconic Land Cruiser series. Setting a benchmark for electrified off-road vehicles, the model will soon be available in Jordan through Markazia Toyota. The vehicle fuses seven decades of heritage with Toyota's cutting-edge hybrid technology, delivering enhanced performance while maintaining the unmatched reliability, durability and all-terrain capability for which the Land Cruiser is renowned. This momentous launch, which sees the all-new Land Cruiser HEV debut first in the Middle East, highlights the unique and longstanding relationship between the region and the Land Cruiser nameplate. Since the model's inception in 1951, the Land Cruiser has supported the lives and livelihoods of people across the globe, becoming an indispensable tool across some of the world's harshest environments. The introduction of the all-new Land Cruiser HEV marks a bold step toward Toyota's vision for carbon neutrality under its multi-pathway approach, offering customers greater choice while ensuring no compromises on capability or reliability. Building upon 28 years of leadership in hybrid technology, Toyota has applied its extensive expertise to manufacture an electric off-roader capable of lending superior power, driving refinement and environmental benefits, all while staying true to the Land Cruiser spirit.Masaya Uchiyama, Chief Engineer in charge of development, commented, "The fully remodeled Land Cruiser, introduced in 2021, has been so well received across all regions, and we are deeply grateful for our customers' continued support. As the global drive towards a carbon-neutral society accelerates, we recognize the importance of offering electric vehicle options for our flagship Land Cruiser. It is an honor to introduce the Land Cruiser Hybrid first to the Middle East, a region whose valuable feedback has helped shape the Land Cruiser's evolution. While we have made significant advancements, this is only the beginning of our journey as we work to create the ultimate electric off-roader, evolving it further with the insights and experiences of our loyal customers."The Land Cruiser HEV inherits the core DNA that has defined the series for generations - reliability, durability and exceptional off-road performance - now enhanced through electrification. The hybrid system introduces a 20% increase in torque and a 40% improvement in accelerator response compared to conventional powertrains, resulting in a driving experience that is more powerful, more linear and more responsive across every terrain.Extensive development and real-world testing on global terrains, including the deserts, mudflats and mountainous landscapes of the Middle East, ensured that the all-new Land Cruiser HEV remains capable of taking drivers anywhere and everywhere - and bringing them back safely. Invaluable lessons learned from Toyota's participation in off-road rallies such as the Dakar Rally were also incorporated into the development process to enhance the vehicle's endurance and performance in extreme conditions. As a result, the Land Cruiser HEV's hybrid system has been designed per the highest standards and with true off-road reliability in mind. Even in the unlikely event of hybrid unit failure, the vehicle can continue operating solely on the combustion engine, guaranteeing peace of mind in remote areas. The hybrid battery compartment has been specially waterproofed to maintain the Land Cruiser's famed fording ability, allowing it to tackle rivers and water obstacles confidently. The vehicle also offers a third-row seat and cargo layout optimized explicitly for the addition of the HEV system, without sacrificing versatility or interior space. The launch of the Land Cruiser HEV represents more than just the evolution of a legendary vehicle - it is a commitment to a future where Toyota continues to deliver solutions that meet customer needs without forfeiting its core values. By bringing electrification to its most trusted off-roader, Toyota reaffirms its dedication to creating vehicles that inspire trust, adventure and enduring loyalty.
As Toyota looks ahead to an era of sustainable mobility, the Land Cruiser HEV stands as a proud example of innovation rooted in tradition, presenting customers across Jordan, the Middle East and the world with an even better way to explore new horizons.

JCI issues report on challenges of food industry sector

AMMAN — The Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) issued the third report of its reform series "Regulatory Challenges Waiting to be Addressed", which was dedicated to the food, catering, agricultural and livestock industries, one of the sectors most closely related to food security and economic stability. According to a statement issued by JCI, the report comes as a continuation of the institutional approach adopted by the JCI to diagnose the most "prominent" regulatory challenges facing the various industrial sub-sectors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Also, the report offers practical solutions in line with the priorities of the Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV), specifically in the item "Unlocking Potential". The report noted that the sector, despite its "strategic" importance, is facing challenges at a time when there is a growing need to expand the production base and enhance reliance on domestic inputs. The JCI stressed that addressing these challenges is a national priority and is in line with the priorities of the EMV and the food security strategy, noting that the solutions proposed in the report do not require new budgets or direct financial support, but rather decisions that enhance local production.

AMMAN — The second edition of the Jordan International Food Festival (JIFF) lunched on Wednesday in Amman, with wide participation from major food industry brands, as well as local and international chefs. The festival management and organisers said that the festival embodies a vital platform to promote Jordanian food products and highlights the importance of Jordan on the world cultural tourism map, according to The Jordan News Agency, Petra. They added that the festival sheds light on the distinguished heritage of Jordanian food and enhances the Kingdom's status as a unique travel destination. The festival had dispatched a relief convoy to Gaza ahead of its official opening as part of its humanitarian efforts, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), and with contributions from participating companies, institutions, and individuals. The relief assistance will total 300 tonnes of food and medical supplies, to be delivered in three batches before and during the festival, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip amid the difficult humanitarian conditions caused by the Israeli siege. They also said: "The festival forms a bridge between tradition and modernity, connecting local community and its guests from around the world, and linking diverse cuisines with the stories they tell.' Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) Spokesperson Anas Adwan said that the initiative represents Jordan's commitment to the causes of the Arab nation, and reflects the national role of the tourism sector in carrying humanitarian values. He also added that this year's festival combines support for local products with solidarity with the people of Gaza and the donation channels will remain open throughout the festival, encouraging continued public participation. JIFF continues until August 11, featuring a diverse programme of live shows, workshops, and competitions that highlight the richness of both Jordanian and international cuisine. Dedicated areas have also been allocated for youth-led and entrepreneurial projects in the food sector. This year's festival features 165 entrepreneurial projects, including 76 women-led initiatives, 180 Jordanian restaurants, and 20 food manufacturing companies, according to Petra.
