Dubai Police Launches Comprehensive Security Plan for Safe and Joyful Eid Al Adha
Dubai's Event Security Committee has confirmed full readiness to ensure a safe, smooth, and celebratory Eid Al Adha across the emirate, with an extensive security and transportation plan backed by multiple government entities.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Chairperson of the Committee, announced that security operations will cover all mosques and grand prayer grounds. Hundreds of patrols and support units, including 515 security patrols, 139 ambulatory points, two helicopters, five rescue boats, and four command rooms, will be deployed across Dubai.
In collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority, the plan also boosts transportation services to accommodate holiday crowds. Over 16,000 limousines, nearly 14,000 taxis, 1,240 buses, and 104 metro trains will be in operation. Seven transport control centres will monitor traffic, supported by traffic diversion units and marine transport vehicles.
Healthcare readiness is also part of the plan, with 18 hospitals and clinics on standby, coordinated by a central health operations centre.
Al Mazroui urged the public to call 999 for emergencies only and use 901 for non-urgent matters. He also encouraged reporting violations through the Dubai Police 'Police Eye' platform.
Emphasizing public safety, he warned against reckless driving, particularly speeding, and advised jet ski users to avoid family zones along the beaches. He called on parents to supervise children in public areas and strictly avoid fireworks, citing serious injury risks and fire hazards.
To foster a festive atmosphere, Dubai Police will also host sports competitions for workers in areas including Jebel Ali and Al Quoz during the first two evenings of Eid.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to a secure and joyous celebration for all residents and visitors.

This includes equipping prayer rooms, cleaning the beach, rehabilitating parks and public facilities, and providing staff to serve people with disabilities and senior citizens. Furthermore, field teams are active around the clock to facilitate visitor movement. As part of the comprehensive preparations, the municipality's inspection teams continued to conduct inspection campaigns on food establishments, markets, and shops to ensure their compliance with health and environmental requirements, ensure food safety, and provide a safe shopping environment for citizens and visitors. For their part, a number of worshippers and visitors to the area expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the Al Hamriyah Municipality's initiative, which they described as having touched their hearts and contributed to spreading a positive atmosphere on Eid morning. Tens of thousands perform Eid Al Adha prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque
Worshippers flock from across Palestine According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), worshippers began arriving at the mosque's courtyards at dawn from Jerusalem and various parts of the Palestinian territories. The atmosphere was filled with chants of "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest) as people marked the first day of Eid. Pilgrims 'stone the devil' to mark end of Hajj and start of Eid
Muslims performed the last ritual of Hajj on Friday known as the 'stoning of the devil' in Makkah, as millions around the globe celebrated the beginning of the Eid Al Adha break. Saudi Arabia has this year hosted more than 1.6 million Muslim pilgrims. They threw stones at three concrete walls symbolising the devil in the Mina valley, on the outskirts of the holy city of Makkah. Droves of pilgrims had already set out from their accommodation in the sprawling tent city in Mina before dawn, taking advantage of the cool temperatures. The ritual commemorates Abraham's stoning of the devil at the three spots where it is said Satan tried to dissuade him from obeying God's order to sacrifice his son. On Thursday, pilgrims converged on Mount Arafat, praying and reciting the Quran at the 70-metre rocky rise near Makkah, where the Prophet Mohammed is believed to have given his last sermon. Many climbed despite searing heat, though numbers had thinned by midday, following official warnings for pilgrims to stay inside between 10am and 4pm. At this year's Hajj authorities implemented a range of heat-mitigation efforts alongside a wide-ranging crackdown on illicit pilgrims- resulting in noticeably thinner crowds and a heavy security presence at holy sites in Makkah and surrounding areas. This year's statistics, by the General Authority for Statistics (Gastat), showed a total of 1,673, 230 pilgrims performed Hajj. Of these, 1,506,576 were international pilgrims and 166,654 were domestic pilgrims, including both citizens and residents. According to Gastat, 877,841 were men and 795,389 were women. Every year at the Hajj, Muslims gather in Saudi Arabia to unite in religious rituals and acts of worship as they fulfil one of the Five Pillars of Islam, a religious obligation. It can be the spiritual experience of a lifetime for them and a chance to seek God's forgiveness and the erasure of past sins.
