HRH Crown Prince Issues Circular Announcing Eid Al-Adha Holidays for Public Sector
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, today issued an official circular outlining the public sector holidays for the upcoming Arafah Day and Eid Al-Adha.
According to the circular, all ministries and public institutions across the Kingdom will be closed from Thursday, June 5, to Sunday, June 8, in observance of Arafah Day and the three days of Eid Al-Adha.
As part of Bahrain's policy to compensate for public holidays falling on weekends, the circular also stated that Monday and Tuesday, June 9 and 10, will be official holidays in lieu of the weekend overlap with Friday and Saturday.
The announcement allows public sector employees a six-day holiday period to mark one of the most significant religious occasions in the Islamic calendar.
Eid Al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God's command. The holiday is observed by Muslims worldwide with prayers, feasts, and acts of charity.
