Though Katherine Ryan is officially a comedian, we think she might be bidding for a career as a beauty influencer. The Would I Lie To You? and TV regular certainly knows a thing or two about aesthetics and beauty, something she's proving with her latest high street mascara recommendation.
Taking to TikTok to share a very impressive before-and-after shot of her lashes, the soon-to-be mum of four, who announced her latest pregnancy just last week, captions the clip: "Am I the only one who puts mascara on by blinking slowly?"
The subject of the TikTok is Benefit's They're Real Mascara, which Katherine says is "the ONE". She explains: "I've seen a lot of mascara reviews on here, and I know I'm going to get in trouble in a minute because it is 7.56 pm and I'm on stage in 4 minutes, but I'm ready as soon as I get on.
"I don't have an affiliate link and I'm not selling anything, but I use some designer make-up products but never mascara. For some reason, I think high street ones are better. This is Benefit They're Real."
She goes on to explain how she finds high street mascaras "don't flake" and how she prefers mini-sized ones so she can take them travelling with her. Another shares her love for the Benefit buy, saying: "Nothing beats Benefit mascara!", with another chiming in with: "I've loved Benefit mascara for the longest time."
"This is the best mascara ever. I've used it for years. Can't beat it," writes another.
"I shall NEVER return to my old drug store mascara... Benefit has my heart," concludes a final user.
The formula itself promises to lengthen and extend the appearance of your lashes to create a false effect. Lasting up to 36 hours of wear, the formula is smudge, transfer and flake-proof – as Katherine says. However, a few of the comedian's other followers are saying they don't think a £15 mascara – for a mini, at that – counts as a high street one. So if you are looking for a mascara recommendation under £10, they have plenty of other suggestions.
One TikToker advises others to check out Maybelline's Sky High Mascara, which can be bought for £8 on Amazon. A few others say they swear by L'Oreal's iconic Telescopic Mascara, available for £9.59 at the moment.

On June 13, two new charges of sexual penetration without consent were filed against Filly. During a court hearing in November, the British-Colombian saw his bail request put on hold until later that day. ABC Australia covered the story, noting that Perth barrister Seamus Rafferty SC is representing the entertainer. Rafferty commented on the denied bail, stating: "This has already made headlines. Given the nature of social media, the nature of people jumping on bandwagons, given the nature of (the) power imbalance between the parties." A TikTok video from Perth's Bar1 Nightclub went viral last year, showcasing Filly – who has appeared in Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off – performing at the venue. Meanwhile, in a sombre contrast, images depicting injuries allegedly sustained by a woman were presented to the court. "No ordinary person can consent in those circumstances," stated the prosecutor in reference to the gruesome photos, adding: "Across her body is a history of violent acts, ... we say those photos and what is alleged is beyond the pale, beyond what could be considered to be a consensual act." Filly, who was born in Colombia and moved to London aged two as a refugee with his mum and sister began his YouTube career in 2013 before releasing his debut single Take Time in 2017. He went onto host shows Hot Property and Don't Scream on BBC Three and has also appeared in Soccer Aid and The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off. Filly's 10-day trial is scheduled to start on 20 July 2026.

First thing to note from my experience with this tan remover, which I've used twice now, is that I didn't notice any overly strong scent during or after use. This probably isn't a huge downside for everyone, and I will admit I have a terrible sense of smell, so it could just be my nose. Jacob Skidmore has shared with his 300,000 followers what it is like to live with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). NPD is a mental health condition that gives an increased sense of self-importance, a deep need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. Skidmore, who is known as The Nameless Narcissist online, says he didn't tell people about his diagnosis for years. "Whenever I attempt to be vulnerable with my friends, it's like the shame catches the words in my throat and I psychically can't say it," he told LADBible. In a video uploaded to his TikTok page, Jacob said: "A lot of people will be like, 'Oh, I have those thoughts too sometimes. Does that mean I'm a narcissist?' And the answer is probably no, and it's not because necessarily that, 'Oh, if somebody considers they're a narcissist, that means that they're not a narcissist'. "I mean, obviously I've considered it, been considering it for a while, been diagnosed with it." The 'real reason why you probably aren't a narcissist' he says is because these thoughts have to apply 'to literally everything in your life'. "Not just 'Oh, man, I got a promotion at work, so I'm feeling a little grandiose and thinking a little narcissistically'," Jacob added. "No, it's, 'Oh, I took in the groceries today better than anybody who's ever existed'." Jacob said that narcissistic thoughts must be pervasive and ego-based, meaning there's no self-judgment involved. True narcissists don't feel the need to hide their thoughts or feel guilty about them, as they believe their behaviour is justified, he says. Jacob continued: "Like me, for example. I know that these thoughts are abnormal, but I don't have any cognitive dissonance regarding them. I'm not like, 'Oh, man, I can't believe I thought this narcissistic thought today'. Jacob explained that he'd never met a narcissist who didn't 'do these things', but pointed out this is just his opinion. First, he explained that feeling 'genuine' emotions is a sign someone isn't a narcissist, as he finds himself 'faking' his, saying: "Narcissists don't have those normal emotional reactions, we have to emulate them half the time." Next is whether or not you believe every person on the planet has equal worth - as in his eyes, it's 'inconceivable that two people can have it inherently the same amount of worth.' Jacob said: "For me, there's always gonna be a better person and a person below." Lastly, if you love yourself, the diagnosed narcissist reckons you definitely haven't got NPD. "A lot of people think narcissists love themselves," Jacob said of the common perception around NPD. "No, we think we're better than everybody else. "We might love how we look. We might love our intelligence. But my internal monologue is a constant stream of 'You're so stupid. Why did you do that? You're better than all these other people. How could you be so stupid?' 'There is no self love. There is no self compassion there. It's just grandiosity."
