Katherine Ryan proves a high street mascara is 'the one' with incredible results
Though Katherine Ryan is officially a comedian, we think she might be bidding for a career as a beauty influencer. The Would I Lie To You? and TV regular certainly knows a thing or two about aesthetics and beauty, something she's proving with her latest high street mascara recommendation.
Taking to TikTok to share a very impressive before-and-after shot of her lashes, the soon-to-be mum of four, who announced her latest pregnancy just last week, captions the clip: "Am I the only one who puts mascara on by blinking slowly?"
The subject of the TikTok is Benefit's They're Real Mascara, which Katherine says is "the ONE". She explains: "I've seen a lot of mascara reviews on here, and I know I'm going to get in trouble in a minute because it is 7.56 pm and I'm on stage in 4 minutes, but I'm ready as soon as I get on.
"I don't have an affiliate link and I'm not selling anything, but I use some designer make-up products but never mascara. For some reason, I think high street ones are better. This is Benefit They're Real."
She goes on to explain how she finds high street mascaras "don't flake" and how she prefers mini-sized ones so she can take them travelling with her. If you're looking at Katherine's incredible results, you can pick up the mini mascara for £15 from Selfridges, or you can make the most of LookFantastic's offer this week which gives you a full size They're Real Mascara as well as the travel-sized one for £27 (but worth £42).
Katherine's TikTok followers say they're prepped to add it to their own virtual shopping baskets after seeing her lashes with a coat of the mascara on. One asks: "Katherine how the hell are your lashes that long??"
Another shares her love for the Benefit buy, saying: "Nothing beats Benefit mascara!", with another chiming in with: "I've loved Benefit mascara for the longest time."
"This is the best mascara ever. I've used it for years. Can't beat it," writes another.
"I shall NEVER return to my old drug store mascara... Benefit has my heart," concludes a final user.
The formula itself promises to lengthen and extend the appearance of your lashes to create a false effect. Lasting up to 36 hours of wear, the formula is smudge, transfer and flake-proof – as Katherine says. However, a few of the comedian's other followers are saying they don't think a £15 mascara – for a mini, at that – counts as a high street one. So if you are looking for a mascara recommendation under £10, they have plenty of other suggestions.
One TikToker advises others to check out Maybelline's Sky High Mascara, which can be bought for £8 on Amazon. A few others say they swear by L'Oreal's iconic Telescopic Mascara, available for £9.59 at the moment.

Molly-Mae Hague shares latest holiday snap after complaining over summer plans
Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are enjoying a sumemr holiday to Turkey with their daughter Bambi and fans have been kept updated in posts this weekend Former Love Island finalists Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are enjoying a trip abroad with their daughter Bambi. They have shared updates from their latest holiday after Molly-Mae expressed concern over her summer plans. Molly-Mae, 26, and Tommy, also 26, flew out to Turkey with toddler Bambi, two, recently. The couple have since posted about staying at the coastal resort Regnum The Crown on the vacation, with them giving their fans an insight into the trip in content shared on social media this weekend. They have been seen enjoying each other's company at the location and taking Bambi to a waterpark on the holiday. It comes after Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he joins a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday. READ MORE: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue This afternoon, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Bambi sat with Tommy, who had his eyes closed, on a plane. She teased in the caption that was included on the post on her Instagram Story earlier today: "Sleep about to abruptly end." Tommy also shared a photo from the flight that showed Bambi on Molly-Mae's lap. He wrote: "Quality time incoming." Then over a photo of him and Bambi at an airport, he said: "Excited to be somewhere I haven't visited before." He's since shared updates from their hotel resort, including teasing that he was "staying on plan" when it came to meals. Tommy also uploaded a photo of himself in a gym, with the boxer seen smiling whilst posing for a selfie in a mirror. Following their arrival at the destination, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Tommy and Bambi cuddled up in bed together. She later shared a photo of them lying together on a sun lounger at a water park and told fans: "My favourite view." Molly-Mae also shared a photo of herself and Bambi at Aqualantis, with them seen on a slide together. Tommy later uploaded footage of the pair on a different slide, with them seen splashing into the water together in his video. The updates from the family's holiday comes after Molly-Mae was seen in tears in a recent vlog following a backlash. She addressed the suggestion that she's "out of touch" after complaining about struggling with parenting lately, including saying she was found a recent motorhome holiday challenging. She told fans in the video: "I feel like I need to keep my camera running all day so you guys like actually just see ... it's like every single thing is a huge problem. Like [Bambi is] screams and can't even get like socks and shoes on." Addressing potential critics of her vlogs, Molly-Mae added: "I don't care who tells me I'm out of touch with reality or like all this stuff that's going on on TikTok at the minute." She said: "I don't care like I'm not gonna not talk about it." The update came after she was met with criticism after complaining that she hadn't done anything "fun" over the summer. She said in a vlog uploaded last month: "I said to someone the other day, right, that I am gonna make it to the end of summer [having] not done one fun thing." She added: "I haven't socialised once. [...] I haven't done one social, fun thing. I haven't a life. I haven't a life. Oh, it's not good is it? Like I am literally ... summer will end and I won't have done one fun social thing." She gave an example as going out with a friend and their children for the day. Some people however pointed out that in recent weeks Molly had been to Wimbledon and on the motorhome holiday to the Isle of Man, for example.

Influencers arrested after posting TikTok video posing in front of flaming Russian plant after Ukrainian strike
TWO influencers have been arrested after posting a TikTok posing in front of a flaming Russian plant following a Ukrainian strike. A drone dramatically exploded the military-linked Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt oil depot in Sochi. 9 9 9 TikTokers Dasha Vladimirovna, 21, and Karina Evgenyevna, 19, were filmed rapping in front of the burning facility. They are captured in footage glorying in the Ukrainian strike which Putin's air defences failed to prevent. The video was posted to a track Crimson Dawn by singer Endshpil, a Russian rapper. Dasha and Karina were also with a man - but it was unclear if he had been hauled to the police as well. A police "wanted" notice only specified the two women. 'During Internet monitoring, a publication was found showing two girls filming a video against the backdrop of a fire in Sochi,' a police statement said before the influencers were identified. It added: "The police have initiated an investigation, measures are being taken to identify the girls, and their actions will be legally assessed." Later it was confirmed the duo had been detained, and there were calls from pro-war outlets for them to issue a public apology over the stunt close to Sochi airport. Kremlin moral guardian Yekaterina Mizulina, 40, head of Russia's Safe Internet League, said: 'Young people are filming content against the backdrop of drones flying into Sochi at night. 'I wonder what's wrong with the instinct for self-preservation? Defiant Putin bombs key Kherson bridge as Ukraine strikes back with massive drone strike on Russia's biggest resort 'Don't they understand that this is simply dangerous?' But the real reason for their arrest is the potential glamourising of a Ukrainian strike in Russia's largest resort. Moscow takes an increasingly aggressive, extreme stance against social media stunts seen as highlighting Ukraine's successes in the war. A Ukrainian outlet Pravda Gerashchenko mocked: 'Russian zoomers are happy about the burning oil depot in [Sochi] - a new location for selfies. 'Ukrainian defence forces will definitely try to create as many such locations as possible.' The song 'conveys a search for direction, belonging and hope through music and the hip-hop community,' said one source. 'It reflects on life's struggles, yearning for freedom, and finding strength and identity through artistic expression.' Russian forces last night bombed a key bridge used to transport military logistics in the Ukrainian frontline city of Kherson. 9 9 9 Footage shows a Russian airstrike destroying the key road crossing on the Dnipro River after dropping two guided bombs. The attack damaged a bridge connecting the city to the Korabel neighbourhood. A few homes and a high-rise residential building were also damaged, officials said. A defiant Vladimir Putin has snubbed peace and is instead steadily increasing his overnight bombing raids - which could soon hit 1,000 a day. Governor Oleksandr Prokudin urged residents of the Korabel district to evacuate, citing complications with logistics and infrastructure. He wrote on Telegram: "As a result of the enemy airstrike, logistics have been complicated. "Because of this, it will be difficult to deliver food and other things for the time being." Kherson Oblast, which is just near the Russian-occupied Crimean region, is frequently targeted by the Russians. Kyiv sought revenge by launching a massive drone attack targeting Russia's main resort city of Sochi, where Putin is said to be rebuilding one of his palaces. More than 120 firefighters were trying to extinguish a blaze at an oil depot that was sparked by the drone attack, regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said. A massive fuel tank with a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres was on fire, Russia's RIA news agency reported. Some 30 huge explosions led to a massive inferno at the facility close to the main airport often used by the Russian dictator. 9 9

We're ditching the UK for Thailand – we can't wait to leave this ‘miserable' life, all we do is work to pay bills
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A UK FAMILY have set their sights on Thailand after growing tired of the British lifestyle. The Smiths cited the rising cost of living, crime, and the school system as their main motivations for ditching life in the Midlands. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 TikTok user Dale Smith explained why his family are leaving the UK for a new life in Thailand Credit: TikTok / @ Dale Smith told 1.9 million TikTok viewers about his family's upcoming move. He explained that he found a variety of factors have made the UK "not a nice place to live any more". The HGV driver and his wife Kim, 36, are moving with their children Noah, 10, and Molly, eight, in November. They said they want to break away from their monotonous routine and start a new life abroad, embracing the "beautiful scenery" and "incredible food" Thailand has to offer. "I feel like life is just flying by, you wake up on a Monday, you're fed up and you can't wait for the weekend – you're wishing the days away," Dale said. He added that the cost of living is continuing to rise while the UK streets are now "a state". Despite an increase in income following a change in work, Dale said all his extra money is "just going to bills". He compared the never-ending cycle to "banging your head against a brick wall". The couple's children are also excited for the move, eager to begin homeschooling life and leave the British school system. Dale and Kim plan to focus on English and basic maths, as subjects their children enjoy such as history, video editing, and photography. I fled the UK for sunny Dubai - life back home is miserable & no-one has any cash The TikToker added that he hopes his children will "learn new languages and learn about new cultures". He also pointed out that the "terrible" English weather is another push for the family to move abroad. "England is just a miserable place and we're just tired," he told his audience. The family plan to move across the globe with just "nothing but a bag of clothes" and use their savings to support them. They are also in the process of selling their three-bedroom home, their 2015 Ford Focus, and most of their possessions. How easy is it to move abroad? Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here's what you need to do at home before moving: Notify HMRC about your upcoming move. Let your local authority know and provide a forwarding address. Contact your mortgage and utility providers and bank before leaving. If you have paid enough UK national insurance contributions, you can qualify for a state pension abroad - contact the International Pension Centre. You can sign up to the Royal Mail's redirection service. If you have outstanding student loans, contact the Student Loans Centre. If you have children, give due notice to childcares and schools. Dale added that he and Kim have been doing "loads" of research around visa applications, flights, and places they want to visit. He revealed that the they will travel to Bangkok for one week before moving down the coast to Hua Hin. The family will then stay at the scenic beachside district for a few months. Dale has been posting the family's journey on TikTok and YouTube, under the handle @ He described the upcoming new chapter as exciting but scary. More on living abroad Most expats surveyed claim living abroad is one of best decisions they've ever made. And the five things one British expat misses the most about life at home. Another family ditched the UK for Spain, and are loving the sun and relaxed culture. One British couple described themselves as "burnt out zombies" before moving to Bali. Another family left the UK for Cyprus and say they work half as much while still affording a home.
