Find suitable land & I will set up IT park through MIDC in Solapur: Fadnavis
, speaking at Dahitane in Solapur while inaugurating a housing project of 1,348 units to be handed over to workers from the economically weaker section on Sunday, said that an Information Technology Park will be established in Solapur through the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

Fadnavis said, "There is a demand to take steps to bring employment to Solapur. If you go into IT companies based in Pune and ask how many of them are from Solapur, half of them will raise their hands. Most of the people working in IT companies are from Solapur. If we bring such companies to Solapur, then we can give employment to the local youths on a large scale. Therefore, I am asking the district guardian minister, collector, and municipal corporation to find the best location for setting up an IT Park in Solapur.
I will ensure the IT Park is set up through MIDC. We will bring IT companies to the IT Park."
He further said that Solapur was once known as an 'Audyogik Nagari' (industrial town). "On one hand, we have started the airport, and the road connectivity is better now. Once Solapur was an industrial town, for some reasons the industries declined. We will bring back the industries slowly to restore the status," added Fadnavis.
Fadnavis also promised to make drinking water available to each house in Solapur city every day. "Everyone will get drinking water every day to their house. We are going to change the internal water distribution system of Solapur city for which state govt has approved an Rs 850 crore scheme," he said.
The CM lauded the 'Solapur Model' of housing for the weaker sections, saying the quality of the construction is on par with private apartments. "The beneficiaries will have to pay the bank loan equal to what they used to pay as rent in the rented accommodation. In such a way, we have developed the housing schemes for the weaker sections. In the next two years, 30 lakh houses will be ready in Maharashtra and will benefit 1.5 crore people.
We will install solar energy units on each housing unit so that the tenants get electricity free of cost. We aim to make 'Beghar Mukt Maharashtra', with every person having a roof over their head," Fadnavis said.

Through 'Sramasree', migrant labourers, who have enrolled in the portal, would be provided financial aid of Rs 5,000 for 12 months or till the time they get fresh employment in Bengal. The cabinet has given approval for the scheme to help in the rehabilitation of the migrant workers willing to return,' she said.'This new plan is focused on helping migrant workers return and become economically reliant. Those who return will be provided Rs 5,000 along with one-time travel aid. Until new work can be arranged for them, an aid of Rs 5,000 per month will be given. The Labour Department will be the nodal department for this,' she said. 'During Covid, we had supported the migrant labourers through various schemes.''Migrant workers from Bengal, who are working outside and those who are enrolled in the migrant workers portal (Karmasathi), will get the aid,' she said. Those who are returning can get in touch with the Migrant Workers Welfare Board or through 'Karmasathi', she said.'In addition to financial aid, migrant workers will get 'Khadya Sathi' cards. The administration has been instructed to provide this and the chief secretary will monitor the process. 'Swasthya Sathi' cards will also be provided. If they do not have a house, a community kitchen centre will be set up. Arrangements will be made for their children to enrol in local government schools to ensure their education continues without interruption. The migrant workers will also be enrolled in other schemes of the state government as well,' Banerjee said. 'The primary aim of this initiative is to bring back our migrant workers and help them get a livelihood and make them financially independent. We have 'Utkarsha Bangla' scheme too, where we give skilled training. Those who return will be assessed to identify the skills they possess, and training will be given wherever required,' Banerjee claimed that around 22 lakh migrant labourers and their families have been working outside Bengal. 'In states with double-engine governments, there is attack on Bengali speaking people,' she said.'These workers, if they return, will be provided work under the Karmashree scheme and given job-cards. We have given work to 78 lakh job-card holders under this scheme and over 91 crore man-days have been created. The state has spent Rs 19,000 crore for this scheme,' Banerjee stated.

Ahead of the official release, the company's Chief Marketing Officer, Francis Wong, has disclosed the price of the base variant of the Realme P4 5G. According to Wong, the handset will be priced at Rs. 17,499 in India for the entry-level RAM and storage configuration. The figure is reported to include bank discounts, suggesting that the actual maximum retail price could be slightly higher. For comparison, the Realme P3 5G, launched in March, had a starting price of Rs. 16,999 but was available for Rs. 14,999 after a Rs. 2,000 bank offer. The Realme P4 5G is confirmed to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G processor and will feature a dedicated Pixelworks chip. It is suggested to offer a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. Dealer fined for selling defective cellphone
Dharwad: The Dharwad District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has rapped a cellphone manufactuing company for selling a defective handset to a customer. Neeta, a resident of Karwar Road in Hubballi, had purchased a Samsung cellphone for Rs 20,300 from the authorised Samsung dealer Sri Tirumala Tele World, Hubballi. Within 2-3 days of purchase, the gadget started developing problems such as hanging and display issues. Neeta told the dealer about the issue and sought a replacement. However, the dealer refused, even though the customer had not used it further, and had kept it with her in the same condition. With no other option left, Neeta sent a legal notice. But even then, the dealer allegedly ignored her grievance. Stating that such conduct amounted to deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act, Neeta filed a case before the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission. After a detailed inquiry, the commission headed by retired judge Ishappa Bhute and member Vishalakshi Bolashetti observed that documentary evidence clearly showed the phone had developed hanging and display defects within 2-3 days of purchase, which amounted to a manufacturing defect. Additionally, the company should pay Rs 25,000 as compensation for inconvenience and mental agony, and pay Rs 10,000 towards litigation costs, the commission ordered.
