Man Utd ‘enter shock talks to sign £100m-rated Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson… but must sell host of flops first'

The Sun3 days ago
MANCHESTER UNITED have entered talks with Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson's agent over a potential move, reports claim.
But Stamford Bridge chiefs have allegedly slapped a whopping £100MILLION price tag on the 24-year-old Senegal international.
2
According to BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella, United have approached Jackson's representative Ali Barat.
But for United to fund such an eye-watering move, minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co. need to flog some deadweight first.
United's stormy finances are well-documented - as is Chelsea's long standing interest in Old Trafford outcast Alejandro Garnacho, who is valued at £70million.
But manager Ruben Amorim knows just the men he wants to sell - the problem is hardly any clubs are jumping for them.
United are currently focused on off-loading their five-player 'Bomb Squad', who have been forced to train alone after 5pm when the rest of the squad have left Carrington.
But Amorim will be boosted by the news that Marcus Rashford is closing in on a dream move to Barcelona, after the clubs reportedly agreed a loan deal, with an option to buy.
Although United prefer permanent move, Barca have allegedly agreed to cover Rashford's staggering £300,000-per-week wages.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have expressed an interest in taking Jadon Sancho off United's hands, after Chelsea paid a £5million forfeit for U-turning on their obligation to buy the winger.
2
Meanwhile, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, who both went out on six month loans to Real Betis and PSV respectively, are up for sale.
Amorim have already signed Matheus Cunha in a £62.5million move from Wolves and are all set to bring Bryan Mbeumo in for £71million next week.

But the hunt for a new No.9 is ongoing, with Rasmus Hojlund clearly not the answer to United's goalscoring woes.
Hojlund missed several clear cut chances during United's goalless pre-season draw with newly promoted Prem side Leeds in Stockholm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Jackson is up against some stiff competition at Stamford Bridge next season.
Chelsea beat United to Ipswich striker Liam Delap 's signature, with the Blues adding proven Prem goalscorer Joao Pedro for £60million shortly after.
Following Chelsea's Club World Cup glory in the USA, Jackson ended the season with 13 goals and six assists from 37 games.
But 15 of those contributions came in just 30 Premier League appearances.
If United were to ramp up their interest in Jackson, they would likely face competition from AC Milan, who are confident they can prize him away from the Prem.

A neighbour is blocking our property sale — what can we do?

We are leaseholders of a downstairs maisonette in a building where we also have a share of the freehold. We are selling the property but the joint freeholder, who owns the flat upstairs, is refusing to co-operate. She is making unreasonable and ever-changing demands, such as demanding payment, access to our garden, cancellation of a previous debt and alterations to the lease. She has refused to sign the TR1 [ownership transfer form] to transfer the freehold share to our buyer, effectively blocking the sale. In the past, she has been abusive towards us and our tenants, resulting in police involvement and an Asbo. She is now refusing to communicate or engage in mediation, leaving us unable to proceed. We are seeking advice on how to resolve this deadlock. What legal options do we have to enable the sale of our property?DP • Read more expert advice on property, interiors and home improvement This is an extremely challenging situation and you have my sympathy. There are no easy or perfect answers but I have set out some possible options for you below: The real challenge for you is that you need simultaneously to resolve two problems: the refusal to sign the TR1 and the difficulty of physically selling the home. Dealing with the (easier) TR1 issue first, it is possible to make a relatively straightforward application to court under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. Section 14 enables the court to make an order for sale of the freehold without the co-freeholder's signature on the TR1. Turning to the issue of actually making the sale, you could issue a claim against your neighbour, seeking an injunction restraining her from causing a nuisance. However, not only would that be expensive and somewhat risky, there is no guarantee it would convince prospective buyers that nuisance issues would not reoccur. And a buyer might be concerned about potential issues when they themselves come to sell the property. One alternative is to sell the property in an auction. Via that method, you could find a buyer who is willing to overlook potential issues, for example an investor who doesn't intend to occupy the property. You may have to sell for less than you would like but at least you would have resolved the problem. One other option — subject to your budget, obviously — would be to offer to buy the neighbour's flat. You would then control the whole property. I realise that your neighbour has proven difficult to negotiate with, but at this point nothing should be off the table. I do hope you manage to find a Cracknell, partner, Russell-Cooke, I've had dark grey limestone paving laid on my new terrace. I left a tree in the middle of the terrace for the birds to enjoy. However, the birds are seriously disrespecting my new paving — even a low-pressure hose used daily doesn't remove their mess completely. I've tried hanging reflective deterrent rods in the tree, and also photos of birds of prey, but these haven't worked. Short of removing the tree, do readers have any tips for cleaning the bird mess effectively without damaging the paving?SB Get a decoy bird (such as a hawk) and mount it on a stake close to the tree in question. Ideally, move the decoy around regularly to stop the birds getting familiar with it, and keep it as high up as possible. Most garden centres sell Evans Sprinkle cheap supermarket biological washing powder on the wet paving. Leave for an hour or so. Brush. Sluice. Works a treat. And no harm to the stone. The solution should keep the paving clean and new-looking for some Hollowday I fold strips of silver foil (into three to make them rigid) and attach them to the branches of my fruit trees. Stephen Bunting battles past Gary Anderson in World Matchplay thriller

Stephen Bunting saw off a Gary Anderson fightback and battled his way to a 12-10 last-16 victory in a scrappy encounter at the World Matchplay in Blackpool. It took a while for both players to shift into a gear as doubles proved troublesome for the pair throughout the match, which went beyond the allotted 21 legs. Advertisement The contest went back and forth but Bunting, who also missed double 12 for a nine-darter, chalked off five straight legs to make it 9-6 and it looked like he would go on to seal a comfortable victory. However, Anderson survived match darts as he fought back to make it a level game but Bunting finally got the job done to win by two clear legs and seal the win. Both players averaged less than 30 per cent on checkouts which made for darting drama and Bunting admitted to being nervous on stage. After the match, he told Sky Sports: 'He's a quality operator. One of the best players to grace the stage and I have nothing but respect for Gary Anderson, and what a win in my career. Advertisement 'I felt nervous anyway. I've got (son) Theo with me tonight, Toby, the missus, but we're through and I can relax now. 'I feel great and playing the best darts of my life and enjoying being in Blackpool – the fans have been incredible.' James Wade produced a vintage performance as he swept Matchplay debutant Wessel Nijman aside in an 11-5 win. There was nothing to separate the two players through the opening six legs but Wade jumped all over the young Dutchman's mistakes as he started to race clear. Advertisement The game started to turn when Wade brilliantly hit back-to-back bullseye finishes to go 8-4 up with his third ton-plus finish of the match. That was in the middle of five straight legs that Wade put together to go within a leg of victory and the Machine pinned double tops to wrap up an impressive win. Gian van Veen reeled off seven straight legs on his way to a thumping 11-5 victory over Danny Noppert. Noppert started on fire and jumped 2-0 ahead but his Dutch compatriot shifted into top gear and went into the second break with a 7-3 lead which Noppert could not bounce back from. Advertisement Van Veen, who surprisingly knocked out Luke Humphries in the first round, threw four 180s and averaged just under 95 to book his spot in the quarter-finals. Jonny Clayton continued his good run of form with an 11-8 win over Mike de Decker. The Ferret threw nine 180s and never went behind in the contest but held off a couple of De Decker fightbacks to see him through safely to the quarter-finals.
