SEPANG, July 22 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) today launched the upgraded Airport FastTrack (AFT) service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), reinforcing its commitment to delivering seamless, efficient, and premium services to travellers.
MAHB managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani said the initiative aligns with its broader strategy to position KLIA as a leading global aviation hub with world-class facilities and services.
'Our upgraded AFT service now offers a holistic meet-and-greet experience, ensuring passengers receive personalised assistance from the moment they arrive.
'From curbside reception to expedited immigration clearance and baggage assistance, every touchpoint has been meticulously designed to deliver comfort and efficiency,' he said in his speech at the launch of AFT Evolution here today.
Mohd Izani said the airport has also provided a guest centre and AFT@Connect at Departure Level 5 for the convenience and satisfaction of passengers.
In line with its digitalisation efforts, he said the company has launched a new website—www.myairportfasttrack.com—to provide detailed information on its services and enable easy bookings.
'This platform reflects our drive to leverage technology in enhancing service delivery and passenger convenience, with an integrated payment gateway ensuring a smooth and secure experience for all users,' he said.
During the event, Mohd Izani also introduced the company's new brand ambassador, Sofia Zara Mustaffa Kamal, Malaysia's youngest female race car driver, who is just 15 years old.
Sofia, recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records, is currently competing in the 2025 F1 Academy circuit, an elite junior series for female single-seater racing talent.
'Sofia's determination, skill, and passion for excellence truly embody the essence of 'fast', which is why she is the perfect face for our Airport FastTrack service,' he said.
AFT KLIA, which is operated by KL Airport Hotels Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of MAHB, was introduced as a premium service to redefine the airport experience for travellers.
Designed to provide seamless, swift, and personalised facilitation, AFT ensures passengers enjoy priority immigration clearance, dedicated meet-and-greet assistance, and smooth transfers within the terminal, reflecting KLIA's commitment to service excellence. — Bernama

Despair as Aaron-Wooi Yik fail to win China Open

This was Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik's sixth appearance in the final of a World Tour Super 1000 tournament. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik let slip a golden opportunity to win their first World Tour Super 1000 title after losing to a scratch Indonesian pair at the China Open men's doubles final. The world No 2 pair's hopes of hitting a career high were dashed by the unranked giant-killers Fajar Alfian-Shohibul Fikri, losing 15-21, 14-21 in just 34 minutes. The Indonesians played aggressively, giving Aaron-Wooi Yik little chance to come back after taking huge leads. Aaron-Wooi Yik took home US$70,000 (RM295,146) as runners-up while the champions won US$148,000 (RM624,000). This was Aaron-Wooi Yik's sixth appearance in the final of a World Tour Super 1000 tournament. Today's result marks a huge win for the Indonesian duo, capturing a Super 1000 title despite the China Open being just their second international tournament after being paired up. Aaron-Wooi Yik were gunning for a fourth title this year, having won the Thailand Open, Singapore Open and Badminton Asia Championships. The two-time Olympic bronze medalists can however take heart as this was their 13th World Tour final appearance in their badminton career, of which they have won four.

KDM to field ex-Sabah Treasury official in Sabah polls

Former Sabah Treasury official Rusdin Riman is reportedly the deputy chairman of Progressive Insurance Berhad, a general insurance firm in which the Sabah government is the majority shareholder. (Website pic) PETALING JAYA : A former top official at the Sabah Treasury will contest in the upcoming state election representing Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM). KDM deputy president Wetrom Bahanda said former Sabah Treasury permanent secretary Rusdin Riman will be fielded by the party in the Paginatan seat, the Borneo Post reported. 'Although (Rusdin) could not be with us today, his supporters are present and he has contacted me personally. 'Rusdin will be joining our fight for Paginatan,' Wetrom was quoted as saying. Rusdin is reportedly the deputy chairman of Progressive Insurance Berhad, a general insurance firm in which the Sabah government is the majority shareholder. The Paginatan seat is currently held by Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) vice-president Abidin Madingkir, who is also an aide to chief minister Hajiji Noor. Abidin won the seat with a majority of 1,323 votes in a nine-cornered contest in the 2020 state polls. At the time, STAR had gone up against Umno, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Upko, Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) and Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah. STAR and PBS have signed a pact for the upcoming state polls to avoid seat clashes, while the two parties are also part of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition along with Gagasan Rakyat, LDP, Usno and PCS.
