A woman in her 80s has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in downtown Toronto.
Emergency services responded to the crash that occurred in the area of Lower Jarvis Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East just after 6:15 p.m.
Toronto paramedics said the woman was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is unknown.

Police believe the woman, who was driving the SUV, was travelling northbound when her vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with the pickup truck. RCMP said the woman was the only person in the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two people in the pickup truck and they were taken to hospital with injuries that aren't considered life threatening.

Moncton woman killed in collision in Berry Mills, N.B.: RCMP

One woman has died and two others were injured following a collision near Moncton Friday. New Brunswick RCMP said the two-vehicle collision happened around 9 a.m. on Berry Mills Road in Berry Mills. Police said it is believed the driver of a northbound SUV crossed the centre line and collided with a pickup truck travelling south. The driver of the SUV, a 49-year-old Moncton woman, died at the scene as a result of her injuries. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time. Two people in the pickup truck were taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, said RCMP. Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Moncton Fire Department, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
