Kurnool: Joint Collector Dr B Navya emphasised the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life, stating that it promotes both physical health and mental well-being.
As part of the Yogandhra campaign, a mass rally was organised on Monday from Gandhi Statue at the Collectorate to Rajavihar.
The rally was flagged off by the Joint Collector, who released tricolor balloons into the air, marking the formal launch of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that under the Yogandhra campaign, yoga awareness programmes are being conducted at village, mandal, and revenue division levels.
These include various competitions such as rangoli, essay writing, elocution, and yoga contests, along with awareness rallies across the district.
Following the inaugural address, Joint Collector Navya also took part in the rally. Participants raised slogans and displayed placards promoting the benefits of yoga.
Municipal Commissioner Ravindrababu, DTC Shanta Kumari, DSO Raja Raghuveer, DMHO Shanti Kala, Housing PD Chiranjeevi, DCO Ramamjaneyulu, Special Deputy Collector Venkateswarlu, SETKUR CEO Venugopal, DRDA PD Ramana Reddy, DWAMA PD Venkataramanaiah, AYUSH Doctor Prasad, Municipal Corporation Manager Chinna Ramudu, Ground Water DD Srinivasa Rao, and representatives from DRDA, MEPMA, forest officials, ARPs, civil society volunteers, government employees, and others participated in the rally.

Yogandhra draws overwhelming public response in NTR district
VIJAYAWADA: NTR District Collector G Lakshmisha announced that the Yogandhra campaign, promoting yoga's benefits, has drawn an overwhelming public response. Around 5,000 trainers are currently being prepared to teach yoga asanas to 10 lakh people in the district as part of a state-wide goal to reach two crore individuals by June 21. On Monday, the district administration, in coordination with Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) and the AYUSH Department, organised a large rally from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to Benz Circle. Addressing the crowd, the Collector highlighted yoga's Indian roots and global relevance, stressing the campaign's goal of making yoga accessible to all age groups. The event also saw the launch of an anti-drug poster bearing the message 'Drugs Vaddhu Bro – Say No to Drugs Bro,' along with the toll-free helpline 1972. He reiterated the administration's commitment to eradicating drug abuse through sustained community RDO Kavuri Chaitanya and others were present.

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi said that it is very gratifying that people are participating in the Yogandhra programme in large numbers in the district. As part of the Yogandhra (May 21 to June 21) awareness programme, which was ambitiously undertaken by the state government to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ghanta Padmasree, Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishnaiah (Chanti), Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy, Eluru City Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan Pedababu and Collector Vetriselvi participated in a huge rally organised from CR Reddy Public School to Indoor Stadium on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, collector Vetriselvi said that everyone should make yoga practice, which provides many health benefits, a part of their lives. On the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21st and as part of the Yogandhra programme, various programmes are being organised at the village, mandal, urban and city areas of the district for a month up to June 21. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ghanta Padmashri said that yoga has many physical and mental health benefits and everyone should practice yoga. Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishnaiah (Chanti) said that on the occasion of International Yoga Day, more than 2 crore people in the state are participating in the yoga practice programme as per the call of the Chief Minister. He said that people, officials, students and public representatives from village level to district level are participating in the yoga practice programme for a month till June 21st through the Yogandhra programme. Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan Pedababu said that physical and mental health increases through yoga practice, so all people should take training in yoga through trainers and practice yoga every day.
