Love Island's Dejon breaks silence on ‘Surviving Dejon' book written by step-sister who branded him a ‘narcissist'

LOVE Island alum, Dejon Noel-Williams, says he plans to challenge a tell all book slate for release and penned by his sister who had labelled him a "narcissist."
During his time in the villa on the ITV2 reality dating show, Dejon came under fire for his controversial behaviour and now his step-sister has added to the chorus of criticism.

His step-sister Niah, who is not biologically related to Dejon but shares a brother with him, has released a book named 'Surviving Dejon,' where she accused him "gaslighting" and "abusive."
But Dejon has now broken his silence the ordeal and said Niah's book was full of "untruths" and he planned to take action.
The footballer was dumped on day 56 of this year's Love Island, alongside his girlfriend, Meg Moore, whom he said knows him well despite what Niah had to say about him.
"There's a lot of untruths and unfair stories that I am challenging at the moment, the most important thing is Meg knows who I am, my family know who I am," Dejon said during an interview on Capital X radio.
Dejo then even gave a "shoutout" to previously dumped Islanders Andrada and Billykiss, who were quick to support him once he and Meg left the villa.
"They told me, 'Dejon there's a lot of things being said about you, we know that's not you, we know that's not how you are as a person'," he revealed.
"So shoutout to them they didn't need to do that."
Prior to releasing her book, Niah had posted a series of scathing videos to TikTok where she tore shreds off Dejon's character.
In the six minute video, Niah claims that what viewers have seen on TV is an accurate reflection of how Dejon behaves in real life, she began: " So I've decided to speak out because I've been silent for way too long and I know that I will be receiving probably alot of backlash from my family for this.
"You guys are all clearly very traumatised from seeing Dejon on TV and seeing everything that he's doing and watching everything play out it seems as though no one is holding him accountable.
Love Island's Dejon responds to step-sister's claims that he's a 'narcissist' and 'manipulative' as he insists it's 'false'
She went on to say: 'Dejon is a narcissist, he's manipulative. I've been telling everyone this for the past 10 years now but no one believed me. And it's just crazy now that the whole of the UK can see what I've been trying to explain to people for so long."
Niah also revealed in a later video that four family members had messaged her asking her to take her video down.
"So, yeah, that clearly isn't a coincidence," Niah said speaking on the family messages: "At first, I did consider taking it down, but then I realised why would I take something down when I strongly believe in everything that I said."
Dejon then took to his own social media to denounce Niah's video and deny her claims.
"I feel like there's a lot of false stories out there about me which are very untrue, unfair and I feel like from that, really big up to my supporters," Dejon told his followers.

Given five years to live, ‘King of Chemo' to visit Wicklow on mammoth half marathon mission

The seemingly barmy scheme comes on the back of his exploits to do just about anything and everything possible on two legs. What sets Iain apart from the rest of us with two legs is that really, he is not supposed to be here at all. While working as a fitness instructor in 2019, Iain underwent an MRI scan during a clinical trial he was taking part in. Despite not having any symptoms, some serious problems showed up. Two weeks after his 31st birthday, he underwent surgery which confirmed he had stage 3 brain cancer. This normally comes with a life expectancy of five years. But in those intervening five years, Iain has done something incredible –he immediately took on the challenge of raising money for cancer research, while taking part in events that most fit and healthy people would baulk at. 'I'm using my cancer against itself by raising the most money ever for cancer research,' he said. Since that day he has been single-mindedly promoting his cause under the name 'The King of Chemo' on social media. His content immediately went viral and he has built a following of eight million on Instagram and six million on TikTok and was crowned TikTok's 2024 Voice for Change Award. He has completed scores of marathons, cycled across America, and appeared on Ray D'Arcy Show, Ireland AM and Good Morning America among others. At the start of the year, Iain took on the challenge of joining the Great World Race of 2024 by signing up to complete seven marathons in seven continents in just seven days. His brash, at times irreverent posts, have gained him huge support as he laughs in the face of his illness. Only this week, he posted: 'Over $550,000 has been raised so far. And if I live long enough this is pretty much guaranteed to happen. BTW I'm doing a half marathon a day at the moment, so I'm not f**king dying anytime soon.' In his latest, self-imposed challenge he is taking on 32 half marathons in every county in Ireland while wearing a 32-kilogramme weighted vest. He has already completed runs in 10 counties, and coming up soon on that list is Wicklow. On Saturday, August 23, Iain will be hosting a community run around Glendalough and everyone is invited to be part of the effort. 'I'll aim to have them all start at 12:34pm," he said, with his usual wit. So aim for noon would be the advice and head for Glendalough upper lake car park in good time. 'Glendalough will be 10k (I'll be doing my own 11km prior),' he said. Everyone is invited to participate, whether you run, jog, walk, or cheer from the sidelines – every step counts toward a worthy cause. Bray resident Ciarán Hogan is a childhood friend of Iain's and is encouraging everyone to join in and support the campaign in any way they can. 'Iain's courage and positivity are infectious. This run is about coming together as a community to support his incredible mission. Whether you complete the full 10 kilometres or just a few steps, your participation will make a difference,' he said.

Esther McCarthy: Signing up to the We Do Not Care Club

I would not have thought I'd have much in common with a black lady from Florida, but one of the many wonders of the internet is you can find communion in the most unlikely of places. Melani Sanders is a 45-year-old wife and mother and the founding member of the 'We Do Not Care' Club (we know this because she has it written on a bit of paper and paper-clipped onto her t-shirt). She posts videos aimed at women of a certain age who are sick to the back teeth of... well, everything. I remember seeing the first video she posted back in May. I was like, 'Yes! This gal gets it'. In a few short months, Melani's amassed 1.6m followers on Instagram, 1.3m on TikTok and 475,000 on Facebook, along with sponsorship deals, merch, and a global fan club. Turns out us mad bitches with startling mood swings and malfunctioning body thermostats just can't get enough of her. Melani sits there in her car, or kitchen, or sideways on her bed, with a travel pillow around her neck, multiple pairs of glasses perched on her person, ready to call to order another meeting of the WDNCC. She sometimes has a sleep mask slung around her neck, and often wears a robe and a satin sleep turban. (If you don't like it, she does not care.) She then uncaps her yellow highlighter, with a hint of menace, it has to be said, and proceeds to name out all the things we do not care about, as shared by her followers in the comments. All her videos start with her explaining the very simple premise. 'I started the club for all the women going through perimenopause and menopause. We are putting the world on notice that we simply do not care much anymore.' She calls out the first item, declares that we do not care, then scratches it off her list. She has this earnest look about her, like she is on serious business. And she is. One of the things on her list in a video I watched recently is: 'We do not care if the tag says hand wash. It's getting washed how it's getting washed. It's in the Lord's hands now.' Another one: 'We do not care if something is 'dishwasher safe'. It is now.' One more for the laugh: 'We do not care if you want us to go somewhere last minute. Once the bra comes off, forget about it.' Her slow, deadpan delivery is just brilliant. And to be honest, that club makes me feel a little better. Because, although I'm at the batshit-crazy (medical term) stage of my hormonal journey, I haven't quite mastered the fully not caring part yet. The other day, I started crying over the position of a fruit bowl on the table, and made the cat run into the sliding glass door in confusion. Then I had to add 'worry about cat concussion' to my checklist. I like knowing the WDNCC is there for consolation. There was one recently about not caring if a partner has had a long day. 'So did we,' drawls Melani. 'Our day included brain fog, night sweats, insomnia, frozen shoulder, and rage.' One thing that's stoking my rage at the moment is the pair of underpants strewn on the stairs. (Sidenote: Why is it called a pair?) I'm 67% sure it's clean and simply fell out of the laundry basket on the way up the stairs. Two things I'm 100% sure about, though. 1. It's not mine. 2. I am not, I repeat, NOT going to sniff it to confirm said cleanliness. It's a gamble though. It's been there a while now, no one else seems to notice it. Sometimes, on my dark days, I wonder… is it an illusion? Am I the only one who sees it — a figment of my fragile, foggy brain? Is it a metaphorical manifestation representing the mess in my mind? But then I remember that empty shopping bag on the kitchen floor. I decided I'd use it as a barometer of how much notice my fellow house inhabitants take of random things left around the house. And wasn't I was stepping over that bag every time I went to the fridge? It would have gone on until infinity so on day four, I folded it up with a martyred sigh, put it back in the boot of the car, and went and had a cry by the fruit bowl for myself. The ridiculous thing is, I'm a messy person anyway, I love a bit of creative shite thrown around the place. My office could be used for carbon dating. The kids' rooms are way tidier than mine. It's just things left in communal areas start my left eye twitching. But I'm going to work on it. The wonderful thing about Sanders' club is that it's fast becoming a movement. She's giving voice to all the women out there who can identify with these changes and challenges and who raise their hands and their voices up and say, OMG, me too! There's a real power — and comfort — in that. Sanders posted recently about the effect her club is having. 'You are not crazy. You are not alone,' she writes. 'You are surrounded by a tribe that sees you, loves you, and refuses to whisper about what we were taught to hide. We're just getting started.' On an unrelated matter, does anyone know the best way to glue a fruit bowl back together and the name of a good feline vet?

It's like life experience is sort of a difference. "But I had to ask myself the question, why?" Tracee continued: "A lot of men my age are steeped in a toxic masculinity and have been raised in a culture where there is a particular way that a relationship looks. "And anything that starts to smell of that for me... I did enough of it where I was controlled and felt like I was a possession or whatever those things were, or prize. "And I just, I have no interest in it and I will not do it again."
