David Tennant set to host new South Korean game show on Virgin Media
Virgin Media has confirmed it will air a new game show, hosted by Doctor Who star David Tennant.
Genius Game will air from April 30 at 9pm on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Play.
The series is a brand-new reality game show that will see strategically-minded players, chosen not just for their high intellectual prowess but also their social IQ, face the ultimate battle of survival.
To win, contestants will participate in a host of never-before-seen games all designed to not only test their intellectual acumen, but encourage them to carefully and creatively use the art of manipulation to outfox their opponents and win a cash prize.
Viewers will see David take on the role of The Creator in the eight-part series, which originates from South Korea, and guide players as they attempt to navigate each uniquely-crafted challenge.
In the first episode, players will need to work together to be successful, but there can be only one winner.
In the first 'Main Match', players will face Gold Heist - which will challenge them to work together if they want to stay in the game.
If they win, they will receive a Token of Life and alongside themselves, will get to choose a player to save. But the losing player will go head-to-head in the ultimate 'Death Match', choosing their opponent from the remaining players. The loser will be eliminated from the competition.
The stakes are high and with the pressure on, who will be able to hold their nerve and sail through to the next round?
Watch Genius Game on Wednesday and Thursday nights, kicking off at 9pm Wednesday April 30 on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Play.
