Entries now open for the 2025 Glasgow Business Awards

This year's awards will be held in partnership with Virgin Money, bringing together two organisations committed to championing innovation, excellence, and growth across Glasgow's business community. KWC Global has also joined as a new category sponsor.

Businesses can enter 14 categories, each in recognition of various professional characteristics ranging from innovation and communications to community wealth and sustainability. The most prestigious accolade of the night, the Award for Most Outstanding Business, will be presented to one of the winners of the competitive categories.
Individuals will also be recognised through awards for Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Business Person of the Year.
Glasgow's Favourite Business, sponsored by The Herald's sister publication, Glasgow Times, and voted for by the public, will also return. Submissions can be entered now with the shortlist revealed over the summer for the public to decide who receives the top title on the night.
The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Award for Lifetime Achievement will be the final accolade of the evening, celebrating the contribution of one of the most inspiring business leaders in Glasgow. Previous recipients have included Arnold Clark chief executive Eddie Hawthorne, former Glasgow Life chief executive Dr Bridget McConnell, and last year's winner Peter Duthie, former chief executive of the SEC.

Devon and Cornwall businesses win gold at Visit England awards

Three businesses in Devon and Cornwall have won gold at the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2025. In Cornwall, Polmanter Touring Park won gold in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year category, while Treworgey Cottage won in the Self Catering Accommodation of the Year category. In Devon, the Farmers Arms took home gold in the Pub of the Year category. Two businesses in Cornwall and one in Devon also won bronze awards. Emily Harmon, of the Farmers Arms, said the awards were, "absolutely amazing, it was such a lovely collection of people from all over England celebrating their wins". Visit England said the awards, which have run for more than 30 years, highlighted the best of England's tourism industry. The bronze awards were won by Wolf Wood Treehouses, in Devon, in the Self Catering Accommodation of the Year in Cornwall, Boscastle House won bronze in the B&B and Guest House of the Year category, and Mylor Sailing School took bronze for its Introduction to Sailing experience in the Experience of the Year category. The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange on Wednesday were gold, silver and bronze accolades available to win in 16 core categories, as well as three special awards, including an Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award, a Travel Content Award and a Tourism Superstar Award. Visit England director, Andrew Stokes, said: "These annual awards are an opportunity to applaud and showcase the businesses and individuals who provide outstanding customer service and continuously improve their products and offer for visitors."From a captivating science museum in Merseyside to a fully accessible hotel in Bournemouth, from cow cuddling on a farm in Yorkshire to fine dining in Lancashire, this year's winners show just how varied and diverse our industry is and what makes it great."He congratulated all the 2025 winners and said the "fierce" competition had reflected the "excellence evident across each category".
