Mizoram: Boxing coach held for sexually assaulting 4 minor girls in Aizawl
'The accused was produced before the court and is being held at Aizawl's central jail,' a duty officer at Aizawl's All Women police station said. The coach, Lalthlengliana, was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
Family members of four sub-junior female boxers, who represented Mizoram at the National Boxing Championships recently held in Haryana's Rohtak, lodged a complaint with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Aizawl on Tuesday. The coach was arrested hours later.
The complainants alleged that the coach sexually abused the girls during their training sessions at the Mizoram Boxing Association (MIZBA) boxing hall.
They also alleged that the coach continued to harass the girls at the national championship venue and tried to enter the girls' bathroom while they were bathing.
'Lalthlengliana made inappropriate physical advances during training sessions at the MIZBA facility in Ramhlun Sports Complex, Aizawl; he even attempted to kiss them and touched them inappropriately before the team departed for Rohtak,' a complainant said.
'Law enforcement officials are investigating the case. The coach remains in police custody as statements are being recorded and evidence is being reviewed,' a police officer said.

The Bandra Anti Narcotic Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch, on August 7, arrested Adnan Shaikh (24), a Pathanwadi resident, and seized 766 grams of Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 2 crore. During interrogations, it transpired that Adnan procured the drugs from their mentor Jameer Boka, a noted drug peddler against whom there are seven offences registered. Police said out of seven offences, five are of NDPS. Adnan further told police that he was lured into the drug business by his aunt Kayanat Qureshi. "Kayanat is the wife of another drug peddler, Jabbar Qureshi, who is in jail. In his absence, Kayanat used to handle the trade, but recently she handed it over to Adnan. The drugs were supplied to Adnan by Jameer Boka through porter services," said Navanth Dhavale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (ANC). "Our probe revealed the main accused was Jameer Boka, who is wanted. Identified as the gang leader, along with two accomplices, he had formed an organised group for drug trafficking and was planning to expand their smuggling operations. After going through investigations, our superiors found this case to be a fit case to invoke the stringent Act," Dhavale added.

Karjat Riverbed Mining Under Scrutiny After Complaints of Illegal Blasting
Navi Mumbai: In response to complaints and a TOI report about the illegal blasting of riverbanks and hillsides in Karjat taluka, the Raigad district administration has assured that authorities will prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Following a TOI report on May 12 this year, environmental watchdog NatConnect Foundation wrote to the Chief Minister regarding a series of illegal uses of explosives, including crude bombs and gelatine sticks, in rural areas of Karjat taluka for extracting earth and rocks from riverbanks and hillsides. Local residents stated that a complaint against illegal quarrying in the Bhaktawadi and Shingdol-Ambivali areas by a resident led to retaliatory actions. NatConnect Director B N Kumar informed the Chief Minister, citing a media report. Quarry operators detonated two bombs near the complainant's residence, shaking windows. Environmentalists warned that such illegal activities could also damage biodiversity.
