Local reporter stopped from asking Bill Belichick about Jordon Hudson in new interview after CBS disaster

Daily Mail14-05-2025
Bill Belichick is not answering any questions about his romance with Jordon Hudson following the backlash over his car-crash CBS interview, a North Carolina reporter has revealed.
Hudson, 24, made headlines for the wrong reasons last month when she interrupted her 73-year-old boyfriend's interview with CBS Sunday Morning's Tony Dokoupil to shut down a question about how they first met.
The painfully awkward moment, which went viral on social media, sparked concerns about the nature of their relationship, with many expressing fears over how much control Jordon has over Bill and the distraction she could be causing in his new role as North Carolina head coach.
The NFL legend broke his silence on the matter earlier this week, insisting it is 'a personal relationship' that 'doesn't have anything to do with UNC football' while awkwardly dodging a question about Hudson.
And a few days on from that interview, UNC stopped a local TV reporter from asking Belichick about his younger lover during their own conversation.
Before airing their interview, Brian Murphy of WRAL-TV in Raleigh revealed the school told him not to ask any questions about Hudson and keep them strictly to football amid the controversy surrounding the relationship.
The ongoing Hudson drama took another twist last week after former ESPN reporter Pablo Torre claimed on his podcast that she is no longer welcome at UNC's football facilities.
He reported that high-ranking officials in UNC's athletic department came to a decision last week that she would not be allowed at the football field or inside the facility.
The sports journalist also stated from a source that, 'there is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill's legacy, reputation - everything he has built and worked for over decades.'
Torre also made the bold claim that the Belichick family 'has been digging into' Hudson, with her antics over the last few weeks raising tons of red flags.
However, a statement from Carolina Athletics to Daily Mail has strongly denied the story of Hudson being banned. It read: 'While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities.'
That statement came a few days before a bombshell report from The Washington Post, which claimed UNC insiders have slammed Belichick 's 'odd' relationship with Hudson and her influence over the head coach.
One Tar Heel employee reportedly even suggested his girlfriend could cost him the job.
'It's just so odd,' the UNC official told the outlet. 'And we just don't know what's coming. Those two decide what they're going to do and they do it.'
'She is very, very involved in the crafting of Bill's projected image, everything you see on Instagram, all of that. I know it's hard to separate out this image of Bill Belichick and Bill Belichick the North Carolina football coach.'
'Maybe it sounds silly for me to try to separate the two things. But really the football side of Bill and now the public side of Bill have become two different things, and she is in charge of the public side.'
Hudson and Belichick were in the limelight over the weekend as she took part in the Miss Maine pageant, eventually finishing third - one place lower than her 2024 effort.
Belichick was spotted front row at the event on Saturday and Sunday, supporting his girlfriend alongside her father.
Despite Hudson's failure to win the crown and a place in Miss USA, it is understood the pair don't believe their fame had a detrimental effect on the results.

Britney Spears sings off-key Prince song in strange performance from California mansion

Britney Spears has sung an off-key rendition of Prince 's ' Kiss ' from her California mansion. Sharing the performance on Instagram to her 41.8 million followers on Monday (18 August), the singer can be seen walking into frame whilst belting out 'I don't know who I am', as she adjusts the ring light next to her camera. She captioned the post: 'I would say, Julia Roberts singing Prince's 'Kiss' off key a touch, but I sounded really good behind the lens lol.' Spears appears to refer to Roberts' character singing the song in the 1990 film ' Pretty Woman '. Wearing a crop top, some white shorts, and a pair of thigh high boots, the 43-year-old said she was wearing her pyjamas to clean, though added that it was 'not the most elegant look'.

Sophie Cunningham reveals how she really feels about WNBA rival who caused season-ending injury

Indiana Fever star Sophia Cunningham has defended the WNBA star who played a role in her season-ending injury. Cunningham suffered a knee injury on Sunday night in Connecticut before the Fever later confirmed that she would be sidelined for the remainder of the season. The injury took place in the second quarter of Indiana's overtime win, when Cunningham went down hard after getting run into by Connecticut's Bria Hartley. She would be helped off the court with a towel over her head as she made her way into the locker room. Some fans - including Cunningham's sister and mom - weren't happy with Hartley, however now the Fever star has come out and defender her. Speaking on her podcast, Show Me Something, she said: 'I'm actually really good friends with Bria. 'I don't think that there was ill intent. I think it was a basketball play, I was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. 'I have nothing but love for Bria and I even told my mom - because she had tweeted something. 'She [Hartley] would never try to hurt me. There are some girls that I think might but she wouldn't do that.' 'So, I have nothing but love [for her] and I hope people stop giving Bria some heat because I don't think she meant to do that at all'. Cunningham also delivered a fresh update over injury while on her own podcast, Show Me Something. In the latest episode, she said: 'I did tear my MCL. If you're going to hurt your knee, that is the best possible case. 'I was in the paint and someone ran into my knee and it just snapped. It went. And knee injuries are weird to me. But I felt a pop right away'. Shortly after she went off injured, Cunningham's mom, Paula, joined in the criticism and accused Hartley of endangering her daughter, after the incident occurred. Paula posted in a now-deleted post on X: 'Hartley is a disgruntled player having trouble everywhere she goes; she's plain mean and plays out of control'. As soon as Hartley made contact with Cunningham's lower right leg, the Fever standout immediately grabbed it and fell to the court. When cameras focused back on Cunningham during a stoppage in play, she was visibly yelling in pain. The Fever ruled Cunningham out for the rest of the game with a right knee injury. Cunningham had already been assessed with a technical foul in Sunday's game during a tie-up with Leila Lacan. The possible serious injury comes at a time when Cunningham's popularity has never been higher, after joining a roster and becoming close with Clark. Cunningham celebrated her 29th birthday on Saturday, with the Fever in the thick of the WNBA playoff race. The Fever have signed guard Shey Peddy to a seven-day hardship contract to replace Cunningham on the roster. Indiana will host the Minnesota Lynx on Friday night.
