‘A journey of learning': Zola ‘Zeelovin' Mhlongo on co-parenting with Prince Kaybee
The couple split in 2021 following Kaybee's cheating.
Zola said she prioritises self-love and independence, treating herself how she wishes to be treated in a relationship.
South African media personality and actor Zola 'Zeelovin' Mhlongo recently sat down with Engineer Your Life podcaster Lungelo KM to discuss her love life and co-parenting with musician Kabelo 'Prince Kaybee' Motsamai.
The Metro FM radio host, who shares a four-year-old son, Mmino Milani, with the Fetch Your Life hitmaker, opened up about how raising their child together has been a continuous learning curve.
'I think co-parenting is a journey of learning. It's not always easy, but it's constant learning. It gets better. I believe it gets better,' Zola said.
She added that she would never deny Motsamai access to their child.
The couple, who welcomed their son in 2021, called it quits a year later, with Kaybee later issuing a public apology for cheating on her.
'I cheated, I humiliated my girlfriend publicly. To the people I have disappointed, the businesses I represent, my girlfriend and my mother, I profusely apologise from the bottom of my heart,' he wrote in an X post at the time.
These days, the DJ never shies away from showering her with praise and compliments on social media, recently referring to her as an amazing woman and mother of his child.
Zola, who remained mum on the rumours and the apology, has seemingly moved on.
She shared her philosophy of self-love by treating herself with the same care she would expect from a partner. By valuing herself first, she emphasised her independence and intent to attract the right relationship.
'I go on a fine dining date, all by myself, and I'll order my bubbles and my meal. I want to treat myself the way that God sees me. And also, I think once I start treating myself that way, if I'm meant to have a certain man in my life, I'll attract the right type of man,' Zola shared.
She also emphasised that she wasn't 'trying to be saved by a man.'

Spice Girl Mel B celebrates marriage with ‘spiritual' ceremony in Morocco
Spice Girls star Mel B has celebrated her marriage with a 'spiritual' ceremony in Marrakesh, Morocco. It comes after the 50-year-old, whose real name is Melanie Brown, married hairdresser Rory McPhee at St Paul's Cathedral in July, having announced their engagement in October 2022. In a post on Instagram, Brown said: 'We got married, again! 'A wedding so good we keep the celebration going with our closest and dearest in our fave place at @selmanmarrakech we had the time of our lives.' The singer wore a red dress with crystals and bugle beads made in a collaboration between Evelie Bridal and wedding dress designer Justin Alexander at the ceremony at the Selman Hotel on Saturday. Her choice of dress was guided by Caroline Black from London-based Evelie Bridal, who aimed to reflect her life in the US, where she is a judge on America's Got Talent. Black told the PA news agency: 'For Mel's Morocco wedding dress, we focused on trying Justin Alexander gowns with a little extra sparkle. 'Mel loved the idea of a red dress — something bold, with lots and lots of shimmer — but it also had to feel light and easy to move in. 'We drew inspiration from a variety of dresses she tried on at Evelie South Kensington, then went back and forth brainstorming with Justin Alexander and his design team. 'After several conversations and sketches, the first design took shape. Mel gave us clear feedback on what she liked and what she didn't, and the final result was beautiful. 'Mel had such a strong sense of what she wanted — it was a joy working with her and Justin Alexander to bring her vision to life.' The dress required a team of six artisans and took more than 850 hours to complete. Her husband wore an Alexander McQueen outfit featuring a white shirt and jacket with black trousers and shoes. The London wedding saw Brown joined by guests including bandmate Emma Bunton, model Daisy Lowe, and comedians Tom Allen and Katherine Ryan. The singer was previously married to Stephen Belafonte until she filed for divorce in 2017 following allegations of abuse. They have a daughter, Madison Brown Belafonte. Brown also has two daughters, Phoenix Chi Gulzar and Angel Iris Murphy Brown, from two previous relationships. With the Spice Girls, the singer had nine UK number one singles and two UK number one albums. The group was best known for songs such as Wannabe, 2 Become 1 and Who Do You Think You Are?.
