Delhi Techie Earning Rs 30 Lakh A Year Plans To Quit Toxic Job Without Backup: "Extreme Pressure"

A backend developer in Delhi NCR shared his struggles with mental health on Reddit, revealing the toll his high-paying job has taken on his well-being. Despite earning nearly Rs 30 lakh per year and having over a year of experience, he struggles with anxiety, recurring headaches, frequent breakdowns, and burnout. He described the reality of his job as unfulfilling, with his paycheck overshadowed by persistent exhaustion and physical symptoms. The techie attributed his struggles to the intense work environment, citing extreme work pressure, long hours on major festivals, limited sick leave options, and a toxic atmosphere that requires five days of in-office work per week. "Since the day I started, I've been struggling with severe anxiety. A year in, it has worsened — I now face frequent headaches, mental breakdowns, and constant burnout at a young age. The work pressure is extreme, we often need to work long hours on major indian festivals due to business needs. Sick leave usually just means 'work from home while sick.' No hybrid policy — it's 5 days a week in a highly toxic environment. All of this is taking a serious toll on my mental health. This post is not about salary discussion, it's about how I want my present and future to turn out to be," the post read. See the post here: My high tech job is causing problems that I can't bear anymore by u/VDtheking in developersIndia The techie said that he is considering resignation, but is hesitant because of the uncertainty of what's next. Leaving a secure, high-paying job without a plan feels daunting, even with minimal financial obligations. "I sometimes feel like just quitting without another offer lined up. But going from a stable, high salary to zero income is daunting, even though I have no major financial responsibilities right now. The fear of not finding another role — especially when I see people with more experience struggling — makes me hesitate," he added. His story has sparked a discussion on the human cost of high-pressure tech jobs. One user wrote, "Yes, this is not a good time to quit for the market. But it is possible for the OP to push through simply by not taking as much stress, giving priority to his health and maintaining work life balance and doing the bare minimum required to hold the job, atleast until the market gets better. Meanwhile, OP can also continue to apply on the side. Better to have good health and slightly unsecure job than no health and subsequently no job." Another commented, "Your health is more important than any salary. A break now may save you in the long run." A third said, "Don't quit without a plan. Try switching internally or wait till you land another role."

UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurates Regency Hospital in Gorakhpur

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath (ANI) GORAKHPUR: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated Regency Hospital at Medical College Road in Gulharia, Gorakhpur. Addressing the event, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the hospital has "the biggest ICU to date," mentioning its 80-bed ICU capacity and noted that the hospital will benefit over five crore people. "The 80-bed ICU is the biggest ICU to date. You will see in the entire hospital how all precautions have been taken, which often leads to the spread of infection. If attention is not paid to any hospital, then it can become a medium of infection. This superspeciality hospital will become an excellent centre of health care for the five crore population of this region. There is no doubt about that. CM Yogi further highlighted that the hospital will give an ease of access to high-quality facilities in Gorakhpur, for which the common man has to go to cities like Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Chennai. "Regency Hospital started its journey from Kanpur. Now they have started a chain. The facilities for which the common man has to go to places like Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Chennai will now be available to him in his own district, in his own area. This Regency Hospital is presenting the example of that," CM Yogi said. On Saturday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath visited Mathura, where he inaugurated 118 projects worth Rs 646 crore and unveiled a Rs 30,000 crore master plan for the holistic development of the Braj region on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. These projects include beautification of Parikrama paths, entrance gates, restoration of kunds facilities for devotees, connectivity, water conservation, and environmental protection. He described the bhajans, kirtans, and Shri Krishna lilas organised in the Panchjanya Auditorium as part of the devotional atmosphere. According to a press release, while addressing the gathering, CM Yogi said that Mathura reflects 5,000 years of ancient history and devotion. The chief minister announced a new master plan of Rs 30,000 crore for the holistic development of the Braj region. He said this plan will connect pilgrimage sites like Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, and Gokul with the memories of the Dwapar Yuga. He said, "Our government is committed to respecting the sentiments of revered saints and enriching the Braj region. We are making possible the works which were once considered impossible." He also mentioned the ropeway facility in Barsana, calling it a great relief for the elderly. He said, "This is the benefit of development, that we are continuously working for the convenience and safety of devotees". The chief minister noted that India has completed 78 years of independence and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's vision of new resolutions for the centenary in 2047. Referring to the recent 24-hour discussion in the UP Assembly, he said society and government must work together to make Uttar Pradesh prosperous and developed by 2047.

Malnutrition In Madhya Pradesh: Another Child Dead, Rehab Admissions Rise

New Delhi: Another child has lost her life to malnutrition in Madhya Pradesh, bringing the state's decades-long health crisis back into sharp focus. On Saturday, 15-month-old Divyanshi of Shivpuri, weighing just 3.7 kg, died at the district hospital. Identified earlier under the state's Dastak Abhiyan, her haemoglobin level was just 7.4 g/dl -- dangerously low for survival. Doctors admit her family was repeatedly advised to admit her to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), but the mother alleges her in-laws prevented treatment because she was a girl. "Whenever she fell ill, they said let her die, she is just a daughter," the grieving mother told local reporters. Days earlier, Radhika, a 1.5-year-old tribal girl from Sheopur, died weighing barely 2.5 kg a quarter of what a child her age should weigh. Her mother said the girl was healthy at birth, but within months her arms and legs thinned to sticks. In Bhind district, yet another toddler was declared dead at Lahar Civil Hospital in July. Families allege malnutrition, doctors deny it but the pattern is chillingly familiar. These back-to-back deaths underline a grim truth: despite tall claims, Madhya Pradesh remains the epicenter of malnutrition in India. According to official figures tabled in the state assembly: 85,330 children have been admitted to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres in tribal blocks from 2020 to June 2025. Yearly admissions are rising sharply from 11,566 in 2020-21 to 20,741 in 2024-25. In just the first three months of this financial year, 5,928 children have already been treated. Government records admit that over 10 lakh children in MP are malnourished, including 1.36 lakh severely wasted. For comparison, the national rate of severe and moderate malnutrition in under-5 children was 5.40% in April 2025, while in Madhya Pradesh it stood at a staggering 7.79%. The crisis is compounded by anaemia. 57% of women in MP are anaemic, weakening the next generation even before birth. The Centre's Nutrition Tracker App shows that in May 2025, 45 out of 55 districts in MP were in the "red zone" meaning more than 20% of children were underweight for their age. On paper, the state spends Rs 980 per child at NRCs. In Anganwadis, severely malnourished children are allocated Rs 12 per day, while normal children receive Rs 8. Congress MLA Dr. Vikrant Bhuria slammed the government he said "Even two bananas cost more than Rs 12. Milk is Rs 70 a litre. What nutrition can you buy for Rs 8? The state government is not spending even a rupee of its own. The money comes from the Centre." Meanwhile, the 2025-26 budget for nutrition stands at Rs 4,895 crore, yet ground realities remain unchanged. Beyond underfunding lies another rot corruption. In 2022, NDTV had exposed massive irregularities in the procurement and transportation of nutrition food. The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has now confirmed a Rs 858 crore scam. Despite this, no meaningful action has been taken against officials or contractors. Experts warn that food often never reaches the intended beneficiaries. Supplies are siphoned off midway, local Anganwadi centers function irregularly, and frontline workers lack accountability. Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria insists the state is innovating: "We have had successes in Mandla, Dewas and Jhabua. Mothers are being made aware, new models are being tried. We are confident the situation will improve." Despite rising budgets and repeated promises, little has changed. With over 10 lakh malnourished children, shocking deaths across Shivpuri, Sheopur, and Bhind, and widespread corruption in nutrition schemes, the crisis is no longer one of poverty alone -- it is of governance failure.
