Jaipur: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) carried out extensive raids at 12 locations on Tuesday in connection with a disproportionate assets case against Fateh Singh Meena, executive officer of the Paota–Pragpura municipality in Kotputli-Behror district.
The ACB teams found luxury flats, high-end vehicles, farmhouses, and also recovered illegal opium from a 15-bigha farmhouse, officials said.
The raids spanned Jaipur, Paota, Shahpura, Kotputli, and Thanagazi in Alwar district, and uncovered a vast network of high-value properties and assets allegedly acquired through benami channels.
Officials said the searches led to the recovery of two luxury duplex flats in Trimurti Arena, Jagatpura in Jaipur, valued at around Rs 1.30 crore; 1.05 hectares of land in Deepawas in Neem Ka Thana; and about 15 bighas of land in Thanagazi in Alwar.
The farmhouse in Thanagazi is estimated to be worth Rs 80 lakh. Raids were also conducted at Meena's residence in Thanagazi near Bhartrihari Tiraha, his rented house in Paota-Pragpura, and the municipal office.
Properties linked to his associates, Pramod Kumar Verma in Kotputli and Kailash Gurjar in Shahpura, were also searched.
A farmhouse in Garh Basai, Thanagazi, turned out to be one of the key locations in the operation where ACB teams found various luxury vehicles.

At a luxury flats in Jaipur, the ACB founda a luxury vehicle, Rs 2 lakh in cash, approximately 1kg of silver ornaments, and nearly 150gm of gold jewellery.
According to ACB director general Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda, the action was taken after credible inputs suggested that Meena had amassed wealth over 250% than his known sources of income. Key documents related to the properties and financial transactions were seized during the operation. Officials suspect that many of the assets were acquired through proxies and hidden investments.
The ACB said more information would be released after the full assessment of recovered properties and documents.

Noida: Woman duped of Rs 65 lakh by her ‘live-in-partner' whom she met via popular matrimonial website

Two months after the disappearance of her live-in partner, whom she had met via a popular matrimonial website, a Noida-based woman, working for a multinational firm, allegedly realised that her nine-month-long relationship was a sham. The woman was duped of Rs 65 lakh in total as the man allegedly used her bank account details to transfer money and even ended up taking a loan of Rs 40 lakh in her name, said police. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Noida, Sumit Kumar Shukla, said, 'During their time together, the man allegedly convinced her to transfer Rs 25 lakh directly into his account and also manipulated her into taking a Rs 40 lakh loan in her name — the proceeds of which he also siphoned off into his account,' Shukla said. 'The accused had gained her trust by claiming that he previously worked for the Central government, and had taken early retirement to start a business,' said an officer. After two months of him being untraceable, the woman and her family registered a complaint on Sunday, the official added. They had initially tried to find him on their own, fearing that he might have met with an accident or might need help. Upon discovering the account details and the unauthorised loan, she realised she had been defrauded and approached the police. According to the police sources, the accused had secretly installed a mobile application on the woman's phone, which he used to transfer funds without her knowledge. He also allegedly blocked her bank SMS alerts, ensuring that she remained unaware of the financial transactions. 'Her high CIBIL score and clean financial history made it easy for the loan to be approved in her name,' an officer said. A case has been filed at Sector 58 police station under charges of cheating and fraud. 'Two police teams have been formed to track the accused. All efforts are being made to arrest him,' an official police statement read. Meanwhile, it is yet to be confirmed if the man was using a false identity.

Ichalkaranji academy vandalised after student found dead

Kolhapur: A student from an Ichalkaranji-based academy allegedly died by suicide in his hostel bathroom on Tuesday afternoon, which led to subsequent violence at the institution. Yash Yadhav, who was preparing for entrance examinations while studying in Std XII, was found hanging from the shower. Though he was taken to a private hospital, he was pronounced dead. His body was later taken to the CPR Hospital, Kolhapur, for postmortem examination. The news of the student's death prompted local youths, mostly former students of the academy, to vandalise the institution's premises, causing damage to windows and the entrance. Inspector Mahesh Chavan, of the Ichalkaranji police station, said: "We registered the sudden death of the student. We are investigating further. So far, no one from the institution has come forward to register a case against the youths who attacked the establishment. " The deceased student's father, Ajit Yadav, described his son as academically gifted. "We suspect foul play and the police should investigate his death thoroughly," said the father. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free Chess. Family underprobe in Bikanertriple homicide, robbery case

1 2 Jaipur: In a bizarre tale of greed, black magic, and betrayal, the police investigation into triple homicide in Bikaner's Khajuwala that occured on June 13 has uncovered a chilling twist — one that has turned the spotlight from an alleged conman to the victims' own family members. Ghaffar Khan, who had a huge debt, turned to an occult practitioner named M Shiva. Promising supernatural gains, Shiva claimed he could multiply Rs 50 lakh using black magic. Trusting the occultist, Ghaffar along with Shaitan Singh and Vikram Singh — who were known to Ghaffar, and some others, including one Ramswaroop — took part in the ritual at Ghaffar's home in Khajuwala. But the ceremony turned deadly. After consuming a poisoned offering given by Shiva, the three collapsed — Ghaffar, Vikram Singh and Shaitan Singh died, and two more were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Initially, police believed that Shiva, a self-proclaimed occultist from Karnataka, had murdered the trio and fled with the cash. But what emerged during the investigation left even the police stunned. As it turned out, not everyone who attended the ritual had passed out. Ghaffar's son Salman, who ate very little of the offering, remained conscious. He immediately called his mother to report what had happened. Shortly after, several family members arrived at the scene — Ghaffar's wife, daughter, son-in-law Mustaq Khan, brother-in-law, and two nephews. Shiva was still there when the relatives gathered. But instead of helping the dying men, the relatives allegedly saw an opportunity. According to police, in a moment of collective greed, the family members stole Rs 50 lakh and then assaulted Shiva, forcing him to flee from the scene. They then created a cover story, claiming that Shiva had poisoned the victims and escaped with Rs 50 lakh. The truth began to unravel when police questioned the two surviving participants of the ritual, who are recovering in the hospital. "During questioning, they revealed that Shiva didn't flee on his own. He was made to flee by family members, who then framed him for the crime," a police officer said. Further investigation revealed that before hiding the money, Ghaffar's son-in-law Mustaq Khan secretly took Rs 10 lakh. The remaining Rs 40 lakh was later recovered from Ghaffar's car. The missing Rs 10 lakh was found during a raid on Mustaq's house Tuesday. Mustaq, Yunus, Ghaffar's nephew, and Ramswaroop have been arrested. The rest of the relatives, including Ghaffar's wife and son, are under investigation for destruction of evidence and misappropriation of cash. Ramswaroop's wife is a station house officer (SHO) currently posted in Nagaur district.
