International Yoga Day: UP Minister Danish Azad Ansari leads Yoga session at Darul Uloom Warsia
The event witnessed participation from dozens of people, including Muslim youth, at one of the prominent Islamic seminaries in the city.
The initiative was seen as a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India Movement, with the minister describing it as a significant step towards national health consciousness.
Speaking to ANI at the event, Danish Azad Ansari said, 'The objective behind International Day of Yoga 2025 is that India should be health-conscious. This movement of Prime Minister Modi is a very important step towards Fit India. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, yoga camps have been organised across the country and the world. You will see that today, thousands of Muslim youth are participating in the Yoga Day program...'
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries performed Yoga in Gorakhpur on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day.
He welcomed everyone and said that Yoga Day is being celebrated not only in the country but also around the world. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making yoga popular globally.
While addressing the public, Yogi Adityanath said, 'Today, Yoga Day is being celebrated in Gorakhpur. The local minister, MPs, other public representatives, and all the brothers and sisters here are participating. I welcome everyone. This program is happening not just here, but across the country and the world. In Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is spreading the message of yoga. On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, I send my warm wishes to everyone.'
'Yoga has been part of our culture since ancient times. Good health helps us fulfil our goals, and yoga helps us grow spiritually too. It's a tradition passed down by our sages through the Vedas, Puranas, and other ancient texts,' he added.
Yogi said that yoga builds spiritual strength and is India's gift to the world. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting global recognition for yogaHe also wished everyone good health and happiness on the occasion. (ANI)

Patients are under treatment and being closely monitored. 'Healthcare, education now commercialised': RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat flags accessibility crisis; says common man struggles with costs
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat (ANI) NEW DELHI: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday expressed concerns over the increasing commercialisation of healthcare and education while speaking at an event in Indore. He said that both sectors, once considered acts of service, have now become unaffordable and inaccessible for the common man. 'Health and education are extremely important and were earlier considered as 'seva' (service), but now both are beyond the reach of common people. Both have been commercialised. They are neither affordable nor accessible,' Bhagwat said at an event in Indore. Citing personal experience, Bhagwat recalled, 'when I was a child, I had malaria and missed school for three days. My teacher came home, and brought jungle herbs for my treatment. He was concerned that the student who came to him should stay healthy. Society needs accessible and affordable healthcare.' Referring specifically to cancer care, he said, good cancer care is currently available in only 8-10 Indian cities, and stressed the need for healthcare that does not become a source of anxiety for patients. 'We need low-cost, easily accessible medical care. CISFs Project Mann extends mental health support to over 75,000 personnel
Mohali (Punjab) [India], August 9 (ANI): The CISF on Saturday said that its Project Mann has extended crucial psychological support to more than 75,000 personnel and their programme, launched through an MoU signed in November 2024, in collaboration with the Aditya Birla Education Trust's mental health initiative 'Mpower', was jointly reviewed today by CISF Director General RS Bhatti, Indian Police Service (IPS), and Aditya Birla Education Trust (ABET) Chairperson Neerja Bhatti lauded the role of mental health professionals from ABET in building awareness, providing counselling, delivering clinical interventions, and training CISF staff to handle psychological challenges. So far, 1,726 CISF officers and sub-officers have been trained to recognise and manage low-risk mental health concerns while ensuring serious cases are referred to professionals. This two-tier system has significantly improved access to mental health assistance at the grassroots high-security units such as IGI Airport, Parliament, and Delhi Metro, psychometric assessments have been conducted for over 31,000 personnel, enabling early detection of potential mental health issues. Interventions have addressed cases of depression, marital discord, financial stress, and other personal challenges. As a result, the CISF suicide rate has dropped below the national average in 2024 and 2025, reflecting the initiative's its success, both DG Bhatti and Mrs Birla have committed to continuing the programme in the coming years. Emphasising the importance of mental health, DG Bhatti remarked, 'Mental health is as mission-critical as physical fitness for our personnel. This initiative strengthens our internal support systems and ensures that our personnel remain emotionally resilient, focused, and operationally ready."Neerja Birla highlighted the broader achievement of institutionalising mental health within the force, noting, 'Over the past three years, Project Mann has supported more than 75,000 personnel through psychometric screening, counselling, peer engagement, and a 24×7 helpline across CISF units nationwide. CISF's commitment to integrating wellness protocols into daily routines has resulted in a 40% reduction in suicide incidents, which is a truly positive outcome." (ANI)
