
Dominic West 'trying' to get Irish citizenship
Honorary Limerick man Dominic West has detailed his struggles with obtaining Irish citizenship.
The 55-year-old actor, best known for his roles in The Wire and The Crown, has been married to Limerick woman Catherine FitzGerald since 2010.

Dominic and Catherine tied the knot at the family estate, Glin Castle with the family dividing their time between London and Limerick. Catherine is heiress to castle in county Limerick.
Her father was Desmond FitzGerald, the 29th Knight of Glin. Following his death, the family tried to see the estate but after no success Catherine and Dominic bought it alongside her sisters.
The family now operate the castle as an event venue and hotel, with Kim Kardashian once being refused stay at the location. Speaking to Newstalk's Anton Savage over the weekend, Dominic revealed he had been 'trying' to get Irish citizenship.
Unfortunately, his family ties and connections to Limerick he has had no success thus far, with Dominic noting: 'Goodness men, I'm trying.'
Last year, Dominic revealed that his mother-in-law, Olda, once refused for Kim Kardashian to stay at Glin Castle when the reality star honeymooned in Ireland with Kanye West.
Speaking on the Travel Secrets podcast, Dominic detailed how he and Catherine were shocked when they learned of the potential celebrity guest.
Dominic then revealed that Kim and Kanye ended up staying at Ballyfin Demense, a five-star hotel in Laois owner by late American businessman, Fred Krehbiel.
