La Masia prodigy set for long awaited Barcelona debut against Valladolid

Barcelona could witness the birth of another La Masia success story tonight, as Dani Rodriguez is expected to make his first-team debut against Real Valladolid.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Hansi Flick is set to rotate his squad heavily ahead of a key Champions League clash against Inter Milan, and Rodríguez is among the youngsters tipped to get minutes.

Ahead of the game, three promising youth talents — Dani Rodriguez, Landry Farre, and Noah Darvich — were involved in first-team training.
Flick's plan is to reward their hard work by giving at least one of them their debut, with Rodriguez being the frontrunner.
The 19-year-old winger is highly rated by Flick, who has followed his development closely and has included him in several training sessions with the senior side already.
A versatile talent with a big future

In just 10 appearances for the youth team, he has scored three goals and delivered several assists, showing that he can make an impact despite limited game time.

Flick is especially drawn to his pace, technical ability, and flexibility, given that he can operate on both wings, as an attacking midfielder, or even in a deeper role.
Having joined La Masia from Real Sociedad in 2020 at the age of 14, Rodriguez has grown into one of the standout players in the youth system.
His performances last season, split between the U19s and the reserves, earned him a contract renewal until 2027.
Despite interest from Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, and clubs in the Premier League, the youngster chose to commit his future to Barcelona.
A regular for Spain at youth level, Rodriguez now stands on the edge of a massive opportunity. If he gets his debut tonight, it could be the first step towards a bright future at Barcelona.

Barcelona star set for €12 million exit

An altogether noteworthy update on the incoming departure of Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati has this weekend surfaced online. This comes amid claims that, contrary to previous speculation, the 22-year-old's summer exit will come with the certainty of bringing a permanent close to his Blaugrana stint. Advertisement Ansu's name has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines across Europe for several weeks now. This comes after AS Monaco opened talks with their Barcelona counterparts, over bringing the winger to Ligue 1 for next season. After Ansu struggled for game-time under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick in Catalunya's capital this past season, Deco and co. quickly opened to the prospect of a sale. Initially, the understanding was that as much would come by way of a loan, featuring an option to buy. As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, Monaco's clause at the end of the 2025/26 campaign will in fact come in the form of a permanent one. Advertisement As per a report from Diario AS: 'In principle, Ansu's departure will be via loan with a mandatory purchase option of 12 million euros. There are still some minor details to be resolved because Barcelona want to include a percentage of a future sale or a possible buy-back option.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Manchester City, Juventus Await PSG Standout to Make Major Decision Over Contract

PSG have a big call to make—and clubs like Manchester City are likely paying close attention: Is Gianluigi Donnarumma still their long-term solution in goal? He's under contract through 2026, but interest from top European sides is building. Since joining from AC Milan in 2021, Donnarumma has come through in big moments—making crucial saves and coming up big in penalty shootouts—but his time in Paris hasn't been without hiccups. Advertisement There have been some high-profile errors, including the infamous mistake against Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League, that still raise questions about his reliability under pressure. Now, with PSG headed to the Champions League final, the spotlight is squarely on him again. A strong showing could solidify his place as the club's No. 1. If not, and with his contract winding down, other clubs will be ready to make a move. Could Manchester City swoop in for PSG standout?Football Italia reported on Saturday that Donnarumma's contract is winding down. Still, despite interest from Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Inter Milan, he plans to meet with PSG first to discuss a new deal. Advertisement His current contract runs until June 2026, but PSG have offered him a new deal with a much lower salary than the €10 million per season he was earning after leaving Milan in 2021. In his latest column for Ensemble PSG, Robin Bairner, the chief editor at Football Transfers, wrote about Donnarumma's future and whether PSG should offer him a new contract. 'There's a debate to be had about the No.1, although that's for another day. Despite shaky shot-stopping statistics overall this season, [Donnarumma has] been statistically poorer than Matvey Safanov. 'For example, his Champions League performances suggest that he's the perfect keeper for PSG. He's shown a capacity to raise his level for the big games, which has been precious, even vital, to the team's European progress. This should be enough to see him rewarded with a new deal.'
