Newcastle's Lewis Miley drawing interest from top leagues: Report
Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Miley is attracting attention from clubs across England and Germany ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report by Fabrizio Romano.
The 18-year-old has struggled for regular minutes under Eddie Howe this season, following a metatarsal fracture that ruled him out of last summer's pre-season tour.

Although Miley returned to action in October 2024, the strong competition in Newcastle's midfield—one featuring Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Joelinton—has made it impossible for Miley to find steady playing time.
After making 19 starts and nine substitute appearances during his breakout 2023–24 campaign, Miley has started just one Premier League match this season, playing just a total of 219 minutes across 11 league appearances before the road game at Aston Villa.
Miley also featured in all three of Newcastle's FA Cup matches before their fifth-round exit to Brighton and came off the bench in two Carabao Cup ties.
Despite the reduced role this term, the midfielder's talent has not gone unnoticed. Clubs in both the Premier League and Bundesliga are monitoring his situation closely, as reported by Romano. Miley remains under long-term contract at St James' Park, with his current deal running until June 2029.

Miley, a lifelong Newcastle fan from County Durham, joined the club's academy at age seven and signed his first professional contract in May 2023. He made his Premier League debut later that month and scored his first top-flight goal in a 3–0 win over Fulham in December 2023, becoming the youngest player to score for Newcastle in the Premier League.
Miley has since made two appearances for England's Under-21 side, but his days in Tyneside might be numbered.

Van Nistelrooy out as coach of relegated Leicester
LONDON (AP) — Ruud van Nistelrooy has agreed to terminate his contract as coach of Leicester, the English club said Friday. The former Netherlands striker took over Leicester in November last year on a contract through June 2027, but he couldn't prevent relegation as the team finished the Premier League in 18th place. The club said it is looking for his replacement. It thanked Van Nistelrooy for his 'dedication and hard work,' while the former Manchester United star wished the team well for the future. The 48-year-old Van Nistelrooy previously coached Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and acted as an interim coach for United. Leicester faces the possibility of a points reduction in the Championship next season for a possible breach of financial rules.

Leicester City and Ruud van Nistelrooy part ways
Leicester City confirm that they have parted ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy via mutual consent. The Dutchman took charge from Steve Cooper in November but won just five of his 27 Premier League games in charge, which saw Leicester relegated to the Championship. 'Ruud has overseen a challenging period for the Club. From his appointment in November 2024, he approached the role with professionalism, integrity and a clear commitment to our aims, including through the integration of several promising players from the Club's Academy into our First Team environment,' read a statement on the club's website. Advertisement 'Ruud moves on with the respect and thanks of everyone at the Football Club for his dedication and hard work, and with our very best wishes for the future.' Why did Leicester City wait so long to sack Ruud van Nistelrooy? A separation was well reported and inevitable, but fans ask why it took the club so long to announce van Nistelrooy's departure. Sky Sports report that they weren't able to sack him earlier because it would have affected their latest PSR accounts, which refresh on July 1. While no shortlist has been revealed, Sky further report that Sean Dyche and Danny Rohl are two names that have been considered. Get Football | News Desk
