East Lothian RNLI team rescues three people 'stranded off beach in high tide'
Squads from the RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat sprung unto action on Tuesday, July 29 around 3.56pm when they received a call for help.
Three members of the public had been cut off by incoming tide on rocks near the South Carr Beacon at Seacliff, to the east of North Berwick.

The charity's volunteers located the three stranded residents. The trio found temporary safety on a rocky outcrop called Great Carr where they had been fishing for mackerel.
While the area offered safety until crews arrived, the tide was quickly encroaching and it would have been at least six hours before the tide dropped enough for them to return to shore by their initial route.
The three people were escorted back to shore by RNLI volunteers where they were met by members of the North Berwick Coastguard Rescue Team.
The incident comes just days after the North Berwick RNLI was called to rescue a capsized kayaker on Saturday, July 26. Volunteer crew members jumped into action, leaving the North Berwick Pipe Band's 125 th Anniversary, making their way through crowds on foot and bike to help the person in distress.
The RNLI urges residents to check tide tables prior to heading out on shore excursions. They recommend against wading back when aught in high tide, as tidal current can be extremely strong.
When fishing from rocks, consider wearing a lifejacket and do not go fishing alone.

Gardens looking wonderful as they are entered into national gardening competition
Volunteers in Radcliffe have been working hard to get nine gardens and community spaces ready to be entered into a national gardening competition. Judges from North West in Bloom, a regional organisation that administers the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom competition in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside, visited Radcliffe on Tuesday. Bear wandering around northern Wisconsin with jar stuck on its head
Wildlife lovers in northern Wisconsin are on the lookout for a bear in need of a helping hand. The Chequamegon Humane Association in Ashland, Wisconsin, says a bear has been wandering around with a jar on its head for eight days. It's been seen several times, and the association is warning people not to approach it. Cam and Matt Johnson, who were traveling to Barnes, spotted the bear shortly before noon on Thursday on Route 27 south of Lake Road. They said it was moving sluggishly. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says they're keeping an eye out for the bear.

Coast Guard Detroit helicopter rescues stranded boaters from Lake Erie island
Coast Guard Air Station Detroit reports it assisted in the rescue of three boaters early Thursday from Lake Erie's Middle Bass Island. The rescue involved three people who were on a 29-foot sailing vessel that ran aground. Coast Guard Station Marblehead sent one of its response boats and Coast Guard Sector Detroit sent its MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to the scene. A Coast Guard rescue swimmer reached the boaters to check on their circumstances. Then all three individuals were taken up in a rescue basket into the helicopter. Middle Bass Island is among the small but populated islands in the Ohio waters of Lake Erie, near South Bass Island and its tourist city of Put-in-Bay.
