Married Alabama School Employee, 41, Allegedly Confessed to Having Sex with a Student on More Than 1 Occasion
An Alabama school employee has been charged after allegedly confessing that she had sex with a student on two separate occasions.
According to court documents, 41-year-old Amy Nicole Wigginton of Rogersville, Ala., was recently charged with two counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act, per local news outlet Fox 34.
The newly released court documents allege that Wigginton waived her Miranda rights when questioned by police and confessed to having sex on school grounds with a Lauderdale County School District student 'under the age of 19' on both March 7 and March 31, per ABC affiliate WAAY 31.
While the age of consent in Alabama is 16, sexual abuse charges involving victims up to the age of 18 can be filed if the suspect is a school employee, per Alabama state law.
In a statement to WAFF 48, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office said the matter is still under investigation and they have no further comment.
In response to the charges, the Lauderdale County School District provided the following statement to the outlet: 'The Lauderdale County Board of Education is aware of the allegations, and the employee has been placed on administrative leave. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials, and have no further comment on this matter.'

The Daily Mail reported that Wigginton is active on Facebook and regularly posts photos of herself with her husband and children.
Wigginton was booked into the Lauderdale County Jail and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond, per the outlet.

Mom dies from her injuries days after her 5-year-old was killed by a ‘drunk driver' that slammed into their car
A mother has died from her injuries days after her 5-year-old daughter was killed by a drunk driver who slammed into their car, according to local officials. On May 24, a Massachusetts family got into a fatal crash that left a young girl, Krisha Patel, dead and her mother and brother injured. The mother, Minaben Patel, 38, has now died as well. Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey and Franklin Police Chief Thomas Lynch said in a joint statement Tuesday, per Boston 25 News, that officials are 'saddened by the loss to Minaben's family and we extend our heartfelt condolences.' The father, who was driving the family car, told authorities that the family was on the way to celebrate his son's 14th birthday when he 'saw a truck driving in his lane,' WCVB reported, citing a police report. 'He tried to avoid being hit by the truck by turning left into the opposite lane of travel, but they ended up colliding anyway,' the police report said. The district attorney said in a previous press release that James Blanchard, the driver of the pickup truck that collided with the Patels' car, was arrested and charged with 'motor vehicle homicide while driving negligently and under the influence of alcohol,' among other charges. A not guilty plea has been entered on Blanchard's behalf, per WCVB. Prosecutor Christopher Meade claimed that on the day of the crash, Blanchard said he had two beers at his landscaping job, and when he left, he opened a 1.75-liter bottle of vodka, started drinking out of it and drove home, according to reports. Meade claimed that police found another 1.75-liter bottle of vodka in Blanchard's truck that Blanchard told authorities was 'from the night before,' the local outlet reported. WCVB reported that authorities said Blanchard had a blood alcohol level of .189 - more than double the .08 legal driving limit. The town of Medway — which is a 10-minute drive north of Franklin, where the crash occurred — paid tribute to Minaben Patel in a Facebook post on Tuesday. 'Minaben was a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a dear friend to many,' the town said, adding, 'Together, we remember and celebrate a life marked by love, kindness, and quiet strength.' The Patel family had an obituary published for little Krisha on May 31, which read, in part: "Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to such a precious little soul. In her short time with us, she filled the world with laughter, wonder, and love. Her smile could brighten the darkest day, and her kind heart touched everyone she met.'

Sheriff's department uncovers Nazi extremists' secret arsenal in quiet Washington suburb
CONTENT WARNING– This article contains material that some readers may find distressing. Reader discretion is advised. Two white supremacist extremists and their cache of guns and Nazi paraphernalia were discovered in a suburban Washington state home. Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders announced the coordinated operation along with the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), discovering "military-grade weaponry and armor" in the City of Lacey, near the state capital of Olympia. Sanders announced the discovery in a Facebook post and said that the CID asked his office for assistance Monday as an FBI special weapons and tactics team executed a search warrant "as a result of a violent robbery and theft of military weaponry/armor." Sanders' statement said two people were arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail for investigation of firearms-related offenses. Their names have not been released, pending federal charges, the department said. "Despite requests to set bail at only $5,000, Superior Court granted the Prosecutor's request and set bail at $500,000 each," Sanders said. The pair compiled a stash of short barrel rifles, an MG42 machine gun, grenade launchers, explosives, body armor, ammunition, and ballistic helmets, the department said. Multiple rifles were also staged at windows throughout the residence, the department said. Photos of the stockpile captured the 35 firearms distributed throughout the Washington state home. Along with the store of firearms, authorities discovered Nazi paraphernalia throughout the home. Photos captured a red Nazi flag emblazoned with a black swastika, pro-Nazism literature and artwork depicting Adolf Hitler. "The suspects identified in this case were actively involved in Nazi White Nationalist efforts," the sheriff said. Additional information is expected to be included in a federal criminal complaint to be unsealed Wednesday. The two people arrested were expected to make initial appearances at U.S. District Court in Tacoma on Wednesday afternoon. Fox News Digital has reached out to the U.S. Attorney's Office-Western District of Washington and the Thurston County Sheriff's Department for comment.

The road was reopened at about 18:00 BST. The force said a review of incident was being dealt with "promptly" by senior managers.
