should write to the President about it.
Venugopal told reporters in Alappuzha on Saturday that the post of the governor is the highest constitutional post in a state.
"He has decided to forfeit its value. It is not a post that should be used for selfish political interests. The President should intervene in such matters. The CM should write a letter to the President at the earliest, pointing out that the governor is misusing his post," he said. Venugopal also asked why the CM is not ready for it.
He said that the finance minister's announcement that welfare pension will be provided from the 20th of this month was only to influence the voters of Nilambur and misuse the election. This is a blatant violation of the election code of conduct. The Election Commission should take this seriously. The UDF will consider filing a complaint, he said.
He said that during the Nilambur byelection, he strongly criticised the way welfare pension is being distributed in arrears.

"Welfare pension is the right of the common man. They are entitled to receive it without arrears. This is the govt that came to power saying that welfare pension would be increased to Rs 2,500. Now, even as their term is about to end, it is only Rs 1,600," he added.
Venugopal said UDF is confident that it will win the Nilambur byelection. "It is because of this certainty that the LDF has not paid the pension. There has never been another election where there was so much unity in the UDF.
The Muslim League was more enthusiastic than the Congress. Sadikkali Thangal and P K Kunhalikutty worked as if it were their own election. The IUML cadres worked with more enthusiasm than they would have worked for an IUML candidate.
All the leaders and cadres of the Congress worked together in unison," Venugopal said.
The AICC general secretary also said Shashi Tharoor is an indivisible factor of the Congress. "Congress is a party that ensures freedom of expression. Congress has its own ideas and goals. Everyone has instructions to go along with it. The party has the right to take action if that 'Lakshman Rekha' is violated anywhere. Congress is not a party that violates anyone's freedom of expression and freedom of movement," Venugopal said in response to a question.

HYDERABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti SrinivasReddy on Saturday said the Congress govt is overhauling the revenue administration, which had deteriorated during the BRS's decade-long rule. He said that the Bhu Bharati Act, aimed at providing lasting solutions to long-pending land disputes in Telangana, is being implemented with seriousness and has already brought a positive shift in the system. At a review meeting with senior officials on the successful completion of revenue meets (sadassulu) across the state, the minister said over 10 lakh land-related applications were received across three phases. Between June 3 and 20, revenue meets were held in 10,239 villages across 561 mandals, during which eight lakh more applications were received. In all, 10,725 sadassulu were conducted in 593 mandals, with 8.58 lakh applications submitted. 'In the first phase, held from April 17 to 30, around 12,000 applications were submitted through 72 sadassulu across four mandals. In the second phase, which began on May 5, over 46,000 applications were collected through 414 meetings in 28 mandals. Over 60% of those issues have been resolved, excluding sadabainama cases,' he said. Sadabainama refers to a land transaction, where land ownership is recorded only on paper. Khammam district received the highest number of applications at 67,000, followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (48,000), and Nalgonda (42,000). The minister said free application forms were distributed a day prior in villages, and special teams were deployed under the supervision of tahsildars. So far, 3.27 lakh applications have been registered online, and officials have been instructed to expedite the remaining cases.

HM Shah to visit Chhattisgarh today to bolster anti-Maoist strategy
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Chhattisgarh on Sunday for a crucial two-day visit to strengthen the ongoing crackdown against left-wing extremism and launch key infrastructure projects to support forensic investigation capabilities in the region. During the visit (June 22-23), HM Shah is scheduled to chair a high-level meeting with senior security and administrative officials to evaluate the progress made in the fight against Maoist insurgency. The meeting will also focus on refining the Centre's strategy to achieve the declared goal of eliminating Maoist influence by the set deadline of March 31, 2026. Highlighting the Centre's commitment to long-term stability and improved security infrastructure in the region, Shah will also lay the foundation stone for a campus of the prestigious National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Naya Raipur. The proposed world-class campus will be developed on 40 acres of land already allocated by the state government. The estimated cost for the project is between Rs 350–400 crore and will be entirely funded by the Central government. In addition to the NFSU campus, a separate 6-acre area has been earmarked for a state-run forensic laboratory, aimed at further enhancing the state's investigative capabilities. According to Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma, the Union Home Minister will perform the 'bhoomi-pujan' for both facilities during his visit. Shah will also spend time at one of the frontline security camps, reflecting the Centre's solidarity with forces operating in high-risk zones. Sources familiar with the anti-Naxal operations have reported significant success, with 32 out of 45 members of the Maoist Central Committee already neutralised in various encounters. Efforts continue to locate and apprehend the remaining top leaders of the outlawed outfit.
