Breast Milk Ice Cream Is Real and Available, Here's How to Get It

Yahooa day ago
Alright, let's keep an open mind about this: OddFellows Ice Cream Co., in collaboration with Frida (known for baby and birthing human products), is launching a breast-milk ice cream.
What does breast milk ice cream taste like?
Much of the human population has already tasted breast milk, whether in infancy or as a curious adult, so it's not an alien flavor really, although I personally don't recall it. Breast milk is generally described as subtly sweet and a bit salty, with a smooth finish—which is how I'd describe a good vanilla sea salt ice-cream—my favorite flavor. Like everything else, you can choose to try it or not, I for one, may just grab a scoop.
Will this ice-cream be actually made of breast milk?
Well, no—but it is breast milk-flavored ice cream. Real breast milk ice cream has existed, though. Way back in 2011 and again in 2015 London-based ice cream maker Lickators created ice cream made with donated breast milk in celebration of the upcoming royal baby.
Along with being breast milk flavored, this new ice cream from Oddfellows and Frida will contain some of the same nutrients found in breast milk such as omega-3 fats, lactose, and vitamins like iron, calcium, vitamin B, D, and zinc.
Why is this collaboration between Frida and OddFellows happening now?
August is National Breastfeeding Month, baby! Which makes it a very good month to offer support and destigmatize breastfeeding, in public or otherwise—-and celebrate with this fresh, new (or not so new) flavor!
Where will the new OddFellows breastmilk ice-cream be available?
You can get your scoops of breast milk-flavored ice cream at a Frida pop up at the OddFellows Dumbo location in NYC from Aug 5 – Aug 10, and as bonus: free scoops Wednesday through Sunday from 12-1 p.m.! Pints of this limited edition breast milk-flavored ice cream will also be available nationwide at Frida.com.

'I Was So Mad': Mariah Carey Opens Up About Brighton Pride Wardrobe Malfunction

Mariah Carey has admitted she had to think on her feet during her recent headlining performance at Brighton Pride. Over the weekend, the Always Be My Baby singer closed the show at one of the UK's biggest Pride celebrations, and while fans seemed pretty over the moon with the music legend's performance, she's revealed that it didn't exactly go off without a hitch. Speaking to Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Wednesday's edition of Heart Breakfast, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter shared: 'It was a lot of rehearsing [before the show] and then we had a wardrobe malfunction, which was kind of not cool. It was right in the front area.' 'I saved it, nobody saw it,' she continued. 'Otherwise, it would've been talked about. I turned around and walked through the dancers. I was so mad.' During her set, Mariah performed a string of her hits from across her career, including Emotions, We Belong Together, Hero and Fantasy, as well as newer cuts, Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet, the latter of which received its live debut in Brighton. The chart-topper also made a display of solidarity with the trans community during her set, wearing the colours of the transgender Pride flag as well as a jacket emblazoned with the slogan 'protect the dolls', a message popularised by designer Connor Ives' fundraising t-shirts, proceeds from which went towards Trans Lifeline, a North American suicide-prevention charity. Reviews from Mariah's Brighton show were generally positive, with the town's local outlet The Argus highlighting how fans left 'delighted' and the queer outlet Attitude giving her five stars. While The Times and The Guardian were both somewhat more critical in their reviews, each still offered Mariah a three-star rating overall. Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet are both taken from Mariah's upcoming 16th album Here For It All, which is released next month.
