Steelers' Mike Tomlin preseason press conference ends in hilarious silence
Following the Pittsburgh Steelers' 31-25 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener on Saturday, Mike Tomlin opened the floor for reporters to ask anything about the game — and what happened next was nothing short of hilarious: no one asked a single question, leaving the Steelers head coach smiling as the press conference ended in almost record time.
Reporters might've had all their questions answered by the Steelers' strong performance in the preseason opener — one that featured several standouts on both offense and defense.
The Steelers have another preseason matchup next Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7:00 PM EST — but it remains to be seen when 20-year veteran Aaron Rodgers will make his Pittsburgh debut.

ESPN names one Notre Dame true-freshman, WR Elijah Burress, as one to watch this fall
Notre Dame football had a great 2025 recruiting class, one that ranked as the No. 12 class in the country by the 247Sports Composite. Many of them will contribute early in their Irish careers, but ESPN believes that one can make an impact this fall, wide receiver Elijah Burress. While the son of former NFL star Plaxico wasn't named as on of their top-10 impact first-year players, he was named to their watch list. The 6-foot, 1-inch and 170-pound Burress wasn't the highest ranked prospect in Notre Dame's class, but he brings a pedigree that many don't have. During his final high school season, he caught 37 receptions for 960 yards and 15 touchdowns according to MaxPreps, video game numbers. An average of 25.9 yards-per-catch is extremely impressive, and that is the kind of production that many would love to have. Burress enrolled in January, with the expectation that he could see the field early. If ESPN is correct, that move will pay off for him, and for Notre Dame this year. Jeremiyah Love, Leonard Moore named to ESPN preseason college football All-America team
Pretty soon the preseason accolades for Notre Dame football will cease, because the regular season is drawing closer and closer. But before the Fighting Irish kick off the 2025 college football season at Miami on August 31, the acknowledgements continue to roll in as ESPN released its preseason college football All-America team, which unsurprisingly features star running back Jeremiyah Love and cornerback Leonard is poised for even bigger numbers after rushing for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns last year, a key piece of a squad that made it all the way to the College Football Playoff national championship game. Despite ND's deep backfield, Love is expected to get even more touches this fall because of his game-breaking ability. Meanwhile, Moore is only a sophomore and is already one of the top cornerbacks in the country. He was the FWAA freshman defensive player of the year in 2024, when he led the Fighting Irish with 11 pass breakups and recorded two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Auburn football's FCS opponent, Mercer, earns preseason top 25 spot
Auburn football's 2025 slate will feature one of the top teams at the FCS level. The preseason FCS Poll has been released, and it features Auburn's Nov. 22 opponent, the Mercer Bears. The Bears will begin the season ranked No. 11 at the FCS level. The Bears earn high preseason recognition after winning 11 games and ending the 2024 season ranked No. 8 in the country. Mercer is ahead of several notable programs, such as Idaho, Sacramento State, and Richmond, and trails the likes of Montana State, South Dakota, and the FCS preseason No. 1 team, North Dakota State. Auburn will face the Bears near the end of the 2025 campaign, as Mercer will visit Jordan-Hare Stadium one week before the highly anticipated Iron Bowl. There is a great chance that the Bears could hold a higher ranking by the time they visit the Plains, as they will face two ranked FCS teams in No. 8 UC Davis and No. 18 Western Carolina during the regular season. Last season, Mercer began the year by winning five straight games before stumbling on the road at Samford. The Bears then went on a run where they won four of their final five regular-season games, with the lone loss coming to Alabama on Nov. 9. Mercer's season ultimately ended in the second round of the FCS playoffs with a loss to eventual national champion North Dakota State. The Tigers and Bears will square off on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will begin at 1 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
