Hull FC missed the chance to move back into Super League's play-off positions with a shock home loss to lowly Huddersfield Giants.
They would have leapfrogged Wakefield Trinity into the sixth and final spot, but were well beaten at MKM Stadium.
They have now won only one of their eight home games this season - a record that is seriously harming their play-off prospects.
Tries from Adam Swift, Joe Greenwood and Jake Bibby put the visitors in a commanding half-time lead.
Scores after the break from George Flanagan and Tui Lolohea confirmed the win, despite a hat-trick for Hull winger Lewis Martin.
The Giants remain 11th despite the victory, but they have won three of their past five away games.
Huddersfield had been hammered by Wakefield last time out, but showed fine early defence to deny Harvey Barron and then Davy Litten from scoring tries in the corners.
Then Swift capitalised on his side's first good field position to put them ahead.
Martin's first try got Hull on the board, but two tries in three minutes allowed the Giants to take control.
Greenwood touched down after a fine little kick from Matt Frawley, before Bibby took advantage of loose play between Aidan Sezer and Jordan Rapana to run in from inside his own half.
Flanagan's try and goal extended the gap to 20 points early in the second period although Martin reduced that with his second try, but Lolohea powered over straight after to restore the cushion.
Martin's final try was the pick of the game which allowed some fine footwork and handling involving him and Litten, but Hull's performance was a far cry from the one which had won at Wigan Warriors seven days ago.
Hull FC head coach John Cartwright told BBC Radio Humberside:
"We never really got into the game. It wasn't a game you wanted to be coming from behind and chasing points.
"To their credit, they got in front, they got the jump on us and were good enough to stay in front. I thought Huddersfield played really well today.
(On difference from last week at Wigan): "Very frustrating, very much so. Errors again were through the roof.
"That's the story of the game. Too many errors and too many soft tries. A week off coming this week may be coming at the right time."
Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson told BBC Radio Leeds:
"It's never nice going into a break on the back of a loss so I'm really proud of the lads.
"I thought we were on an upward trajectory the past four or five weeks and the Wakefield loss felt like a step backwards.
"We had some honest conversations and if I didn't get a response, I would have felt like something was wrong.
"Thankfully for me, the club, everyone involved, the lads responded really, really well."
Hull FC: Hardaker; Barron, Litten, Rapana, Martin; Charles, Sezer; Ese'ese, Cust, Knight, Ashworth, Cartwright, Aydin.
Interchanges: Briscoe, Bourouh, Eseh, Watts.
Huddersfield: Flanagan; Gagai, Milne, Bibby, Swift; Lolohea, Frawley; Powell, Woolford, Rogers, Rushton, Greenwood, Cudjoe.

Stanway success 'truly inspiring' for old school

England star Georgia Stanway's success is "truly inspiring" for students at her old school looking to make the most of their opportunities, the footballer's former PE teacher has said. Emma Armstrong said the midfielder, from Barrow in Cumbria, had fought for her dreams as she travelled long distances to develop her game while studying for GCSEs. Stanway, one of the double European Championship winners being celebrated in a central London bus parade on Tuesday, began her journey to the top of the game at Dowdales School in Dalton-in-Furness. Ms Armstrong said former Furness Rovers youth Stanway is proof "somebody from the little town of Barrow" can go on to achieve global success. Lionesses celebrating with fans in London, starting with open-top bus parade It is the second Euros victory for 26-year-old Bayern Munich star Stanway, who scored the winner against Spain in the quarter-final of the 2022 tournament. She played most of this year's final before coming off in extra time due to injury. Ms Armstrong said of her former pupil: "She's done absolutely fantastic. She's done us all proud, as have all the Lionesses. "It's truly inspiring and it is achievable. She did it, didn't she, but you have to fight for your dream and she got there. "The inspiration that she has for these younger students to see that somebody from the little town of Barrow can go on and do that internationally is living the dream, and it shows them that dream is alive." Listen: Georgia Stanway: 'Barrow made me who I am' Graham Fraser, a former Furness Rovers coach, said "everybody in the town" would be very proud of their famous ex-player and the boost she has given the grassroots game. "I think it's just going to take girls' football that much further forward," he said. Eddie Williams, who coaches the Newlaithes Ladies' Team in Carlisle, said the Lionesses' back-to-back wins had "really captured the imagination". And Ms Armstrong said England retaining the trophy would give the women's game "speed and motivation" to keep growing. "It shows it wasn't just a one off, it's got momentum and that momentum is carrying and pushing it forward." Follow BBC Cumbria on X, Facebook, Nextdoor and Instagram. Former Olympic champion Dujardin makes dressage comeback after whipping ban

Former Olympic dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin returned to action at the weekend after serving a one-year suspension over a horse-whipping controversy that led to her withdrawal from the Paris Games. The British rider competed at the Hunters Equestrian event in Gloucestershire, in the west of England. Dujardin, who has won six Olympic medals including individual gold in 2012 and 2016, was banned for a year in December by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). But she had been provisionally suspended since July 2024. Dujardin is now free to compete in domestic events and does not need to seek permission from British Equestrian to do so, though she would need to seek its permission to compete internationally. The 40-year-old won in two categories at the Hunters Equestrian on her new horse, Special Effect. Dujardin was provisionally suspended last July after international governing body the FEI launched an investigation into a video showing her repeatedly striking a horse on its legs. The footage, dating back several years, related to a training session at a stable and sparked widespread condemnation. Dujardin, who was also fined 10,000 Swiss francs ($12,400), withdrew from the Paris Olympics just days before they started saying she had made an "error of judgement" and expressed deep remorse. She could have become Britain's most decorated woman Olympian in the French capital, where a medal of any colour would have taken her clear of cyclist Laura Kenny, with whom she is tied on six medals. Her two best horses, Imhotep and Times Kismet, have been sold since the scandal broke. Times Kismet was sold to backers of Germany's quadruple Olympic gold medallist Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. jw/pi
