Tobias hits hat-trick as Hullbridge Sports bag FA Cup win

TOBIAS Braney hit a hat-trick to secure Hullbridge Sports a 3-1 win against Basildon United in an extra preliminary round FA Cup clash. Braney scored a trio of well-taken goals to send Sports through to the next round. And the striker was full of smiles at the final whistle. 'I live and breathe goals,' said Braney. 'A hat trick is a every striker's wish before a game so I was happy with that on a personal note and I am loving being back at Hullbridge.' 'In football it's important to be somewhere that you are appreciated but aside from this, I love the club as a whole and everything it is about.' Hullbridge fought back from a goal down to triumph at the TJ Cottis Stadium. And Braney believes Sports' first win of the season will make a big difference to the team. 'For us, of course the focus was to win the game and get into the next round but it was also deeper than this for us after a not so brilliant start for us in the league,' said the 21-year-old. 'A win was massively needed for our confidence and team morale, so I was extremely pleased for all of us.' Braney is now back at Hullbridge having finished last season playing for Cheshunt in the Isthmian Premier Division. And he is keen to build on Saturday's success and help Hullbridge work their way up the table. 'My hopes for this season are to get this club promoted,' said the Burnham on Crouch based forward. 'Whether this is by winning the league or play offs, I know it's possible and this is just one of the many reasons I've decided to come back.' Hullbridge will now be looking for another strong result when they head to Romford on Wednesday night in the Essex Senior League. Sports are currently bottom of the table having been beaten in their opening two league games and will now be desperate to pick up points. Basildon's cup defeat came just days after it was announced manager George Christou had left the club. A club statement confirmed: 'Due to circumstances beyond our control we have found it necessary to restructure the club's finances in order to safeguard the future of Basildon United Football Club - both in the short and long term. 'As a result of this difficult but essential decision we regret to announce that we are no longer in a position to support George Christou in his role as first team manager.' Michael Walther has been named as the new manager.

Loni Anderson, ‘WKRP in Cincinnati' star, ex-wife to Burt Reynolds, dead at 79

LOS ANGELES — Loni Anderson, who played a struggling radio station's empowered receptionist on the hit TV comedy 'WKRP in Cincinnati,' died Sunday, just days before her 80th birthday. Anderson died at a Los Angeles hospital following a 'prolonged' illness, said her longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan. 'We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,' Anderson's family said in a statement. 3 Actress Loni Anderson has passed away just days before her 80th birthday. Oasis dedicate song to ‘people who can't be here tonight' at Wembley gig

Oasis dedicated Live Forever to 'all the people who can't be here tonight' during their Wembley Stadium gig on Sunday, after a fan fell to his death at the band's convert on Saturday. The touching moment came as the Manchester band brought to a close their first run of five gigs at the venue as part of their Live 25 tour. A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene at the stadium on Saturday after being 'found with injuries consistent with a fall'. Addressing fans on Sunday night after finishing Whatever, singer Liam Gallagher said: 'This one's for all the people who can't be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren't they looking lovely. Live Forever.' The band then played the track of the same name. The tribute came during a crowd-pleasing set packed with their biggest hits such as Cigarettes And Alcohol, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger, with the group set to return to the national football stadium for two further dates in September. Liam and Noel Gallagher arrived on stage hand-in-hand, opening with Hello, from their 1995 album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, prompting mass football terrace-style singalongs for an opening salvo of fan favourites that included Acquiesce, Some Might Say and Morning Glory. Before Roll With It, Liam joked to the crowd that guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs wanted to sing Bonehead's Bank Holiday, an album track from (What's The Story) Morning Glory? During 1994 standalone single Whatever, the band made a nod to their Beatles influence by including a snippet of Octopus's Garden, from 1969's Abbey Road album. Before Half The World Away, Noel asked the crowd if there was anyone from Manchester in the crowd, receiving a number of boos. He replied: 'None of you would be here if it wasn't for the city of Manchester.' The set climaxed with fireworks erupting over Wembley as the band played Champagne Supernova. Before the final song, Liam told the crowd: 'Nice one for putting up with us after all these years.' The run of concerts has been the first time they have appeared together onstage at the London venue since July 12 2009, when they performed during the Dig Out Your Soul tour. After the first part of their Wembley stint, the band will head to Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium followed by Dublin's Croke Park. The group will head to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia and North America later in the year. Oasis announced their reunion tour in August last year, 16 years after their dramatic split in 2009 which saw Noel quit following a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
