On a warm Wednesday evening in late April, Nashville's event-planning community slipped into the plush, rose-hued world of White Limozeen — The Graduate Hotel's famously flamboyant rooftop restaurant and bar.
While the city bustled below, the real escape was indoors, where velvet banquettes, ornate chandeliers, and Dolly Parton-inspired decor set the stage for a different kind of pitch: an invitation to discover South Walton, Florida, as the next go-to destination for meetings and events.
StyleBlueprint sponsored this event, and we learned so much. Here's the scoop!
Pin
The event took place indoors, but the rooftop's signature kitsch and charm provided the perfect backdrop for casual mingling. Roughly 40 local event planners were welcomed into the vibrant pink space, which was buzzing with conversation, curated bites, and Southern hospitality — an atmosphere that mirrored the very experience South Walton hopes to offer potential visitors and clients alike.
Pin
The conversations felt easy and organic, with a few brief remarks shared from a casually arranged stage area. The vibe stayed warm and low-key, inviting planners to envision their own events unfolding along Florida's scenic Gulf Coast. Whether imagining an intimate family gathering or a large-scale conference, it was easy to see the potential. And, with so many direct flights now coming into the two nearby airports, South Walton is accessible, which is a major advantage in the world of event planning.
'We have 26 miles of coastline,' Karen Morris, Walton County Tourism's Director of Sales, explained, 'and some of the neighborhoods in our destination that you might recognize include Seaside, Sandestin, WaterColor, Rosemary Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach.' It's clear that each community offers its own distinct flavor, from quaint, walkable town centers to luxurious beachfront enclaves.

What sets South Walton apart for event planners is the diversity of its venues and accommodations. 'We offer a wide variety of accommodations for meeting planners, so it's really a great setup,' Karen said. 'We have everything from boutique hotels and beach rentals along 30A — perfect for board retreats and high-end incentives — all the way to full-service resorts with ample meeting space for conferences and conventions.'
The message resonated in a big way, particularly since so many planners create events year-round and are constantly on the lookout for locations that offer both function and flair.
Pin
One of the evening's most memorable elements was the appearance of artist Sarah Page, Walton County's 2024–2025 Artist of the Year. Known for her large-scale murals, Sarah brought a few of her smaller pieces to display during the event. Her presence underscored one of South Walton's most compelling selling points beyond the surf and sand: its thriving creative scene.
From open-air galleries and coastal murals to artist residencies and cultural festivals, South Walton's commitment to the arts offers planners an opportunity to infuse creativity and authenticity into their events.
Pin
By the end of the evening, guests had not only tasted the flavors of South Walton but also its spirit — unpretentious luxury, artistic soul, and natural beauty rolled into one.
The gathering at White Limozeen planted a seed: somewhere between the sugar-white sands and the turquoise waters of the Florida Panhandle, a new kind of event experience awaits. One where planners can trade ballrooms for breezy verandas, and crowded downtowns for curated coastal charm.

The BARK Ranger Program is at 17 Southern National Parks

Share with your friends! Pinterest LinkedIn Email Flipboard Reddit If your dog loves parks as much as you do, you're both in luck. Across the country, national and state parks offer a tail-wagging opportunity for your pup to be sworn in through the official B.A.R.K. Ranger Program! It's not just adorable; it's a clever way to promote respectful outdoor adventures with your four-legged sidekick. And any time we can find a way to have our pups tag along on a road trip and earn some merit badges along the way, we're definitely on board. The good news? There are 17 spots in the South where you can make it happen! Pin So, What's a B.A.R.K. Ranger? Don't be fooled by the cuteness overload — the B.A.R.K. Ranger program has a real mission. It's part of a national effort to educate pet owners on how to explore public lands responsibly, ensuring that every paw print left behind is a positive one. Whether your dog is a mountain trail enthusiast or more of a sniff-around-the-parking-lot type, this program turns your pup into an ambassador for responsible behavior in nature. No, your dog won't be issued a tiny Smokey the Bear hat (darn). The B.A.R.K. acronym lays out the ground rules: B ag your pet's waste A lways leash your pet R espect wildlife Know where you can go Basically, it's all the stuff you should already be doing, accompanied by a badge and maybe some applause from your fellow hikers. Each park puts its own spin on the program, but the general concept is that you and your dog swing by the visitor center to pick up a B.A.R.K. Ranger activity card or pledge sheet. Then, complete a short trail walk, learn the ranger code, and say the pledge — sometimes in a sweet little ceremony with plenty of head pats and camera snaps. When the job is done, your dog earns official swag. We're talking certificates, collectible collar tags, and sometimes even goodie bags filled with treats. Some parks offer it all for free; others might request a small donation. A Quick Reality Check on 'Pet-Friendly' Before you start planning your pup's national tour, it's worth noting that not every park that offers this program rolls out the red carpet for canines. Some locations are pretty limited in terms of trail access for dogs, even though they offer B.A.R.K. Ranger ceremonies. It's like being invited to the party but not allowed to dance. Our suggestion? Look into your chosen location before you go so you have the essential details. On the flip side, some places treat dogs like true guests of honor. These parks go above and beyond to provide real, paws-on-the-ground experiences for your furry explorer. If you're after the full adventure package, definitely look into which parks genuinely welcome dogs before you go. Tips Before You Hit the Trail Always check ahead. Program availability, pet rules, and participation details can differ widely by park. Make sure your pup is socialized and won't panic if another dog joins the ceremony. Pack the basics: water, leash (no longer than six feet), waste bags, and maybe some celebratory, post-swearing-in treats. Don't forget your camera. Social media is practically begging for #BARKRanger content! The B.A.R.K. Ranger program is more than a photo op; it's a feel-good initiative that makes outdoor spaces better for everyone — humans and hounds alike. So the next time you're gearing up for a park adventure, consider letting your pup take the oath. They'll get a cool new title, you'll get bragging rights, and nature gets a little more love. Where Can Your Dog Join the Pack? More than 60 national parks and countless state parks have joined the pack from coast to coast. But if you want to plan a Southern road trip around this fun opportunity, here are the participating parks in the South: Alabama Little River Canyon National Preserve Natchez Trace Parkway Russell Cave National Monument Arkansas Hot Springs National Park Florida Big Cypress National Park Biscayne National Park Castillo de San Marcos National Monument De Soto National Memorial Fort Matanzas National Monument Gulf Islands National Seashore Mississippi Gulf Islands National Seashore Natchez Trace Parkway Vicksburg National Military Park North Carolina Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site Great Smoky Mountains National Park Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains National Park Natchez Trace Parkway Stones River National Battlefield Virginia Harper's Ferry National Historical Park Petersburg National Battlefield Prince William Forest Park Russell Cave National Monument Happy travels! ********** For more fantastic tips, stories, and Southern destinations, check out our Travel archives! Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail offers trailheads to not one, but two cascading waterfalls. If you're looking for a hike that's more on the challenging side, take the 5.4-mile loop to Rainbow Falls. More than just a place to browse boutiques and soak in even more mountain views, this vibrant area of town also offers plenty of photo ops, thanks to its handful of colorful street murals and statues. Pin If you've worked up an appetite, the Parkway is also home to plenty of budget-friendly eateries, whether you need a quick bite or a full-on meal. Standouts include the Sun Diner and Blue Moose Burger & Wings. And, for a sweet treat, don't forget to stop by The Donut Friar. Affordable Adventures If you want to explore some of Gatlinburg's top attractions, we've got some insider tips on how to save on admission. Your ticket includes unlimited 'chondola' rides, plus access to Vista Gardens, the TreeTop Skywalk, the AnaVista Observation Tower, and more. Similarly, you'll save money if you purchase your SkyPark tickets at least three days in advance. As one of the most visited attractions in Gatlinburg, the park is home to the longest pedestrian bridge in the U.S. The famous SkyBridge stands 140 feet above ground and is 680 feet long. SB Tip: Many attractions offer combo packages, which can include discounted rates at local restaurants, retail shops, or other experiences.
