18-year-old grappling phenom Helena Crevar locks ridiculous calf slicer at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10
At UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Crevar submitted 32-year-old black belt Maggie Grindatti with a crafty calf slicer submission in regulation.
Crevar secured the leg submission from the back and then grabbed hold of Grindatti's neck and torqued. Despite Grindatti's submission prowess, she was rendered helpless and tapped.
Crevar has risen to notoriety despite her youth through her strong social media presence and association with legendary coach John Donaher. She is the youngest ADCC World Championship podium placer ever, as she was 17 when she won silver in 2024. Crevar competes mainly at 65kg (143.3 pounds) and is currently a brown belt.

After first UFC\u00a0win, Julius Walker wants to change walkout game – one ABBA song at a time
LAS VEGAS – Julius Walker met the media Saturday after his win over Rafael Cerqueira at UFC on ESPN 72. Walker (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) outworked Cerqueira (11-3 MMA, 0-3 UFC) for a unanimous decision to close out the prelims at the UFC Apex. It was his first win in the promotion after a split decision loss to Alonzo Menifield in his promotional debut earlier this year. That loss was his first as a pro, but it came with a silver lining in the form of a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus. Saturday, despite the win this time, Walker said he wasn't thrilled with the performance overall and found things to work on before his next fight. "I was able to get some good training in this camp, and we're only going to continue to step that up," Walker told MMA Junkie at his post-fight news conference. "… We were on the bottom rung, and now maybe I'm one rung from the bottom. I've got to improve and level up." But one area he thinks his game is locked in tight is his walkout song choice. At UFC on ESPN 72, he walked out to "Dancing Queen" by ABBA, which is a top-shelfer when it comes to songs that are decidedly not "tough." It's not what you'd expect a 6-foot-4 light heavyweight to walk out to, though. But there is method to Walker's madness, and he seems to appreciate the finer intricacies of the fight game – like walkout music. "I walked out to that in my debut and one or two of my regional fights. My last four fights now, I've wlaked out to ABBA songs. I walked out to 'Take a Chance on Me' for my last regional fight. It was actually a message to the UFC: 'take a chance on me,' and it worked. "I've been doing 'Dancing Queen' because here's the thing: At the end of the day, the walkout song is really for the crowd. Nobody wants to hear these tough-guy, gangster rap – nobody wants to hear that. (The fans) are trying to have a good time. Everybody's up there drinking, trying to have some fun. You've got to play a song like 'Dancing Queen' so you can get some jiving going and get the crowd having a good time. So we're probably going to stick with ABBA songs." Joselyne Edwards wants Irene Aldana after KO of Priscila Cachoeira at UFC on ESPN 72
LAS VEGAS – Joselyne Edwards met the media Saturday after her knockout win over Priscila Cachoeira at UFC on ESPN 72. Edwards (16-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) took out Cachoeira (13-7 MMA, 5-7 UFC) in the first round on the prelims at the UFC Apex. It was a finish that looked like it was inevitable for quite a bit before it happened with Cachoeira dropping her hands – and Edwards took advantage. Edwards, from Panama, has won three straight fights and picked up her first UFC post-fight bonus for her finish Saturday. Things appear to be going in the right direction for the 29-year-old, who had a stretch of five fights in which she went 3-2, but missed weight in all three of the wins. Now she has back-to-back first-round knockout wins less than four months apart following her April win over Chelsea Chandler – and she wants former flyweight title challenger Irene Aldana next. "I'm not a loud mouth to give you (sound) bites for you to use," Edwards said. "I'm someone that's been very respectful, but I always wanted to fight (Aldana). "… I'm very happy about the work I've done. The weight's going to be a very tedious thing to go through, but I was able to work through it and I'm very happy about it." Uros Medic thinks comeback KO start of welterweight rankings push after UFC on ESPN 72
LAS VEGAS – Uros Medic met the media Saturday after his knockout over Gilbert Urbina at UFC on ESPN 72. Medic (11-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) starched Urbina (7-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) just 63 seconds into the first round on the prelims at the UFC Apex. But the finish only came after Medic himself was knocked down just a few seconds into the fight and was in trouble. Medic said he had to get woken up, which he's making a habit of, but now thinks his knockout win could be the start of something big at welterweight. Medic has been in the UFC For nearly five years, but has had just one two-fight winning streak and has alternated wins and losses his past five fights. "That's a foolish thing of me. (I did it) my last fight, as well, (against Punahele Soriano). I need to be more alert in these first minutes," Medic told MMA Junkie at his post-fight news conference. "Most of my fights do end in the first minutes, or the first (round). "But I really need to work on staying more alert in the initial touching period. Everybody's so sharp and so fast, and I tend to be loose. I'm relaxed. I don't think much about it – no thoughts in my head. Just blank. I should be a little more sharp. I'll work on that. I don't want it to happen. It's foolish of me at this level to make those kinds of mistakes." Medic said he was nervous about the fight this week because of digestive issues he had before the fight, but now he hopes this latest win will start a push into the rankings at welterweight. Check out Medic's post-fight news conference in the video above.
