There are only 2 pure vegetarian outlets of McDonald's in India, they are located at...
Pilgrims heading to the sacred Vaishno Devi shrine have the option to grab a bite at McDonald's, which has opened two new outlets along the route, one at New Track-Tarakote Marg and the other at Ardhkuwari in Jammu. Understanding the spiritual significance of the place and local food preferences, both outlets serve a fully vegetarian menu. To respect religious sentiments, none of the items include onion or garlic.
Sharing the news, Rajeev Ranjan, Managing Director of McDonald's India – North and East had earlier said, 'We're happy to bring McDonald's to Tarakote Marg and Ardhkuwari for the many pilgrims and locals who travel this path. It's our way of making our popular food and drinks more accessible to people on this important journey.'
The restaurant at Tarakote Marg offers both dine-in and take-away options, along with easy-to-use self-service digital kiosks for faster ordering. At the Ardhkuwari location, visitors can pick up food to go.
'Our presence here is a step towards making the world-famous McDonald's great tasting food and beverages accessible to travelers and residents of the area. We have formulated a special menu for our no onion and no garlic restaurants, consisting of menu items such as McAloo Tikki, McVeggie, McSpicy Paneer Burger, McSpicy Paneer Wrap, along with McDonald's World Famous FriesTM, refreshing beverages and choice of desserts.'
Ranjan also highlighted that McDonald's places a strong emphasis on quality. 'From the farm to the plate, we make sure everything meets our global food safety and quality standards. We've spent 25 years building solid partnerships with local suppliers to make that possible,' he said.
What truly sets McDonald's apart is its people, who are at the core of delivering a warm, welcoming, and smooth customer experience. In North and East India alone, the company has a workforce of over 5,000 employees spread across more than 150 outlets.
The restaurant near Vaishno Devi has hired team members from the local area, providing them with a workplace that is both flexible and supportive.
'We believe in creating a workplace where everyone has the chance to grow,' said Rajeev Ranjan. 'Working at McDonald's helps people build valuable life skills like teamwork, responsibility, and quick thinking. These are qualities that go far beyond the job and can really help shape a better future for our employees.'

Popeyes throws shade at McDonald's after releasing Chicken Wraps to compete with Snack Wrap: ‘…Y'all good?'
Popeyes announced a new menu item on Monday to rival McDonald's Snack Wrap, which is returning next month. The latter shared an emotional note on X Tuesday over the comeback of its fan-favourite item, which was discontinued in 2016. In response to the unusually long post by its competitor, the fried chicken chain had a hilarious reaction. After months of speculation, McDonald's finally revealed that Snack Wrap will return to its menu on July 10. First introduced in 2006, the popular item features one of McDonald's new McCrispy chicken strips, topped with lettuce and shredded cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, according to the company. McDonald's commemorated the return of Snack Wrap with a lengthy post, thanking customers for their unwavering support in achieving this feat. 'I don't usually do this, and i didn't run this by brian from legal (sorry brian). but i have something to say. not as mcdonald's but as the person behind the mcdonald's account,' the fast-food chain wrote on X. 'Yes, i could post about the Snack Wrap, tease you with tweets like 'bring back ___' (knowing exactly what you'd say), and even manifest for its return. but i couldn't bring it back,' McDonald's went on, adding, 'You know who could bring it back? YOU,' while addressing its loyal customers. The company continued to say, 'YOU commented under every post. YOU made petitions. YOU asked for it back in the DRIVE THRU!? YOU tweeted every day for 100 days straight. YOU rallied. you organized. and i saw it all. thanks to you, the Snack Wrap will be back,' before thanking fans for creating a 'movement so powerful that you finally won.' While McDonald's fans were touched by its heartfelt announcement, Popeyes took a hilarious dig at its competitor. In response to the former's post, the latter shared a screenshot of messages, which read, 'I ain't reading all that. I'm happy for u tho (sic). Or sorry that happened.' '…y'all good?' Popeyes asked. In a news release published Monday, Chef Amy Alarcon, VP of Culinary Innovation at Popeyes, said, 'With our new Chicken Wraps, we've taken our iconic chicken tenders and wrapped them in something completely new, bringing all that craveable crunch in a fresh, portable way.' 'We wanted to create a Chicken Wrap that was undeniably Popeyes. Infusing the flavors from our famous biscuit into our wraps was the perfect way to ensure our signature flavors shined through,' Alarcon added. The new Chicken Wraps will be available at participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time, the company said.

McDonald's just announced the Snack Wrap comeback — Here's what's missing
Nine years after discontinuing the fan-favorite Snack Wrap in the US, McDonald's is officially bringing it back. The fast-food giant announced on Tuesday (June 3) that a revamped version of the Snack Wrap will hit US menus starting July 10. Despite being off the menu since 2016, the Snack Wrap never disappeared from customer cravings. Some fans continued trying to order it at drive-thrus, while others launched online campaigns. 'We listen to our fans, and the Snack Wrap's return is a testament to that,' said McDonald's US President Joe Erlinger in an interview with The Associated Press. One of those fans is Alicia Force, a musician and high school administrative assistant from Missouri, who even started a Facebook group urging McDonald's to bring the item back. Force said she tried everything, even making them at home. But nothing was the same. A petition garnered nearly 19,000 signatures, and a viral TikTok video of a food reviewer eating a Snack Wrap in Ireland — where they were never discontinued — racked up more than 1.4 million views. McDonald's began teasing the return earlier this year. McDonald's is tweaking the menu for a smoother rollout. Only fried chicken Snack Wraps will be offered in the US, with two sauce options: Ranch and Spicy. The previous grilled chicken version and sauces like honey mustard won't be part of the initial relaunch. 'We knew we had one chance to knock it out of the park,' Erlinger said. 'It had to be easy for crew to execute.' The comeback also follows years of internal development. McDonald's debuted a new peppery fried chicken strip — McCrispy Strips — in May, which will be used in the wraps. The revival comes amid rising competition in the chicken category. Popeyes just launched its own chicken wraps, while Burger King, Wendy's, and even convenience store chain Wawa already offer similar items. 'There's so much opportunity in the chicken category,' Erlinger said. The Snack Wrap's smaller size and tortilla casing appeal to health-conscious consumers, while its lower price could lure back inflation-weary diners. While McDonald's hasn't revealed official pricing, similar wraps at competitors like Burger King cost around $2.99 — less than many full-size sandwiches. The US will see a limited release compared to global menus. In Canada, for instance, Snack Wraps are still sold with grilled or fried chicken and include fish and breakfast wrap options. McDonald's hasn't confirmed whether the US will get expanded flavors in the future, but said: 'We'll continue listening to our fans when it comes to menu innovations.' (with AP inputs)
