Kristaps Porzingis on Jaylen Brown's injury: Maybe he needs to take care of it
Star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown has been playing with a bone bruise on his knee for some time now, and it has noticeably affected his game on the court. While it is not entirely clear just when the injury occurred that afflicted him, the Georgia native has been trying to play his way back into health. And while we are hearing there is not much that he can do for it by resting, with the stakes for Boston so high as a defending champion with designs to repeat, even his teammates can't help but wonder if maybe there is something he can do to address it.
Boston big man Kristaps Porzingis is among them, and went as far as to say that "maybe he needs to take care of it" in a recent postgame interview. Does Porzingis know something about Brown's knee that we do not?
The folks behind the "CLNS Media Boston Sports Network" YouTube channel put together a clip of that interview for us to watch later. Check it out below!

Cowboys Frustrated Fans React To Micah Parsons Bad News on Contract Talks
Cowboys Frustrated Fans React To Micah Parsons Bad News on Contract Talks originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - There exists a Dallas Cowboys inevitability here. Micah Parsons will be a "Cowboy for Life.'' Sometime between now and the start of the 2025 NFL regular season, he will sign a contract with "America's Team'' that will pay him in the range of $40 million per season. It might be a four-year deal, or maybe a five-year deal. Advertisement And Parsons will experience another stellar season capped by a Pro Bowl berth. But first? Another inevitability ... and one that is irritating Cowboys fans. Yes, "it takes two to tango.'' But we have the scoop on what's going on at the moment - and why what's going on is "nothing.'' This offseason, Jerry and Stephen Jones obviously shifted into a different gear from where this franchise was a year ago. No, the Cowboys' 82-year-old owner didn't go "wildcattin''' as was the case decades ago. But entering the 2024 season, Dallas let 11 starters/rotational players leave via free agency ... and barely lifted a finger to replace them. Advertisement And they did so, by the way, on the heels of Jerry announcing theatrically that the franchise was "all in'' on chasing a title. It was - much to the chagrin of Cowboys Nation - empty gibberish. The Dallas front office wasn't "all in'' in any traditional sense. "Mail it in'' is more like it. Fast-forward to this offseason ... and yes, there is a different "all-in'' flavor. Dallas has acquired a dozen veterans, most with starter credentials. The Cowboys made four trades, capped by a successful plan to land a No. 2 receiver to complement star CeeDee Lamb resulting in George Pickens rolling into town. But something is missing. Advertisement A source tells that while the Joneses and Parsons spoke face-to-face at least three times, with the parties hovering around the idea of a five-year, $200 million contract that would make Parsons one of the highest-paid players in NFL history ... the Joneses have yet to make official follow-up contact with agent David Mulugheta. One key here: The player can talk contract with a team official; that's CBA-legal. But once the player informs the team that it must go through the agent? The team must do exactly that. And it's now been six weeks since Parsons issued that request to the Joneses. Advertisement How can the Cowboys claim to be "all in''? To fans of the team, they cannot make that claim until they sign Parsons - or, heck, at least until they call his agent. We hear it constantly, in our conversations with Cowboys Nation on our Fish Report YouTube show and elsewhere: Fans are enthused about the 2025 season, but frustrated by the bad news because one major issue lingers. And for the moment, the Joneses are doing nothing about it. Cowboys' CeeDee Opens Up About Controversial Jerry ‘Dagger' Comments
Cowboys' CeeDee Opens Up About Controversial Jerry 'Dagger' Comments originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As busy as the Dallas Cowboys' offseason has seemed at times, it will be hard for fans to forget the drama and inactivity that plagued last offseason. Advertisement Two massive contracts in CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott were left largely unattended and a frighteningly quiet free agency led to frustration before the season started. The Cowboys would eventually pay the price for that inefficiency with a disappointing 7-10 record. Things seem to be moving in a better direction this offseason, but there is a lot to be done to patch the wounds left from last summer. Lamb, who was eventually given a four-year, $136 million extension, has released a behind-the-scenes vlog series on YouTube that followed him all throughout last season ... including his holdout of training camp and the preseason during his contract talks. Owner Jerry Jones had expressed very little sense of urgency when talking to the media about Lamb's negotiations, leading CeeDee to drop an "lol" response on X/Twitter that sent out shockwaves of speculation last summer. Advertisement The All-Pro receiver opened up about Jones' controversial comments. "Wow. Yeah that was a dagger ... way to ruin my day." Lamb remembered about his reaction. Jones memorably tried defending his remarks, claiming he wasn't worried because Lamb wasn't supposed to play in the preseason anyway. However, stalling the deal led to Lamb holding out of training camp and missing valuable time with his teammates. CeeDee has also expressed remorse for having to make that decision. Unfortunately, contract drama this offseason could be following a similar timeline. Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons is up for a high-dollar contract extension, but Jones has not made any progress on that front in weeks. Advertisement This is all too familiar for Cowboys fans, but we've gotten word from Micah himself saying he plans to attend training camp. Lamb was visibly upset and regretful about his situation last year. The last thing the Cowboys want is for Parsons to feel the same way. The only thing left to do is hope Jerry has learned his lesson. Gordie Howe's final NHL goal gets a historic change 45 years later
Proponents of video review in hockey argue that they just want to get the call right, no matter how long it takes. Those folks will be happy to know that the NHL's longest scoring review has finally reached a conclusion, and it looks like the league got this one right. It just took 45 years. The review in question was on the final goal — No. 801 — of Gordie Howe's legendary career. Scored on April 9, 1980, for the Hartford Whalers against the Canadiens in the playoffs, Mr. Hockey took a pass from his son, Mark, and beat goaltender Denis Herron to cut Montreal's lead to 8-4. The goal would go down as Howe from Howe. How romantic. Only one problem. The scorer ignored the pass from Whalers goaltender John 'Cheech' Garrett to Mark Howe. 6 Gordie Howe controls the puck before his score. @thirdeyeordie8226/YouTube Garrett, who would play in 207 NHL games before an illustrious career as a broadcaster for the Canucks, didn't initially launch an appeal to the league, but he's been vocal about getting the assist added to his ledger for nearly half a century. In an interview on Sportsnet's 'After Hours' in 2023, Garrett continued his appeal. 6 Goalie John Garrett didn't credit for an assist for 45 years. @thirdeyeordie8226/YouTube 6 Moments before Howe scored. @thirdeyeordie8226/YouTube 'That's a hard pass,' Garrett said in the interview. 'Mark takes it, Mark gives it to Gordie, Gordie scores this beautiful goal. How can I not get an assist on that? I phoned Benny Ercolani — he's now retired, but Benny was the statistician for the league.' Garrett said he didn't complain immediately after the game because of how it would have looked after he conceded eight goals in a loss. But as the years went on, the man known as 'Cheech' used his platform as a broadcaster to raise awareness for his cause. He also had plenty of support from Canucks fans, who launched a social media campaign supporting Garrett's quest back in 2013. 6 John Garrett during a 1982 game. Getty Images All the lobbying has finally paid off. During the second intermission of Game 2 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, 'Hockey Night in Canada' broadcaster Ron MacLean announced the league was finally awarding Garrett with an assist on Mr. Hockey's final goal. 'Colin Campbell of the NHL has begged all of you former NHLers, please do not be writing the league looking for credit on an assist,' joked MacLean. 'They are adding one to the record books, and this is a beauty.' 'John Garrett was denied official status for this assist. He moves the puck. In the record books, it just has Howe from Mark. It did not feature Cheech's assist. It will, forevermore.' 6 Gordie Howe #9 and Mark Howe #5 of the Hartford Whalers look on against the Montreal Canadiens.
