Modi to lay foundation stone of first PM MITRA Park in Dhar
Announcing this, chief minister Mohan Yadav said that while other states are still in the initial preparatory stage for their PM MITRA Parks, Madhya Pradesh will be holding the groundbreaking ceremony for the park at Dhar on August 25.
Yadav said this has been made possible through continuous coordination with the central government.
The chief minister emphasised that once completed, the PM MITRA Park will give a major boost to the development of the entire Malwa region. The Dhar district area is poised to become the second large industrial hub after Pithampur. The park will benefit cotton producing farmers in the region and generate around 300,000 direct and indirect permanent jobs.
Badnawar will also become part of the Indore Metropolitan City Area, gaining access to metropolitan facilities.
Investors and companies setting up industries here will be provided with four-lane roads, rail connectivity, and air links.
Yadav reviewed preparations via video conferencing for the Prime Minister's visit, the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony and the public meeting with the Indore Commissioner and Dhar Collector on Sunday night. He instructed that special arrangements be made, ensuring the participation of local farmers and smooth transport for attendees from different districts. At the venue, a waterproof dome will be set up, featuring a stage for VVIPs, adequate seating arrangements, drinking water facilities, and well-organised logistics.
He emphasised convenient access routes, including alternate roads and necessary repairs.

Centre approves two semiconductor units for Odisha
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday said the Union Cabinet's approval for the establishment of two semiconductor units in Odisha will accelerate the state's growth in the CM expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the Centre's approval of the two semiconductor units in Odisha. Opposition BJD, which had announced the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy 2023, said: "While other states were only announcing semiconductor units in 2024, the decision by the Union Cabinet to approve two such units in Odisha today is truly commendable." BJD senior vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra at a press conference here, expressed confidence that the state government will take proactive steps to develop the required supporting ecosystem for these units within the stipulated in the day, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved four more semiconductor projects under India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), two of which will come to Odisha and one each for Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. After the Union Cabinet meeting, Vaishnaw said that a silicon carbide semiconductor plant will be set up in Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs 2,066 crore by SiCsem. "Silicon carbide is a very robust material and can sustain at high temperatures. Silicon carbide is used in our missiles, satellites, telecom towers, rockets, railway engines, etc," Vaishnaw said. The minister said that the plant will have a capacity to produce 9.6 crore chips per Cabinet also approved US chip major Intel-backed 3D Glass semiconductor manufacturing unit in Odisha with an investment of Rs 1,943 crore. I look forward to continued partnership between the state and Central governments to further this strategic initiative for the comprehensive development of Odisha and the nation. #doubleengine," Majhi Private Limited is collaborating with Clas-SiC Wafer Fab Ltd, UK, to establish an integrated facility of Silicon Carbide (SiC) based Compound Semiconductors in Info Valley, Bhubaneshwar, project proposes to manufacture Silicon Carbide devices. This compound semiconductor fab will have an annual capacity of 60,000 wafers and packaging capacity of 96 million units. The proposed products will have applications in missiles, defence equipment, electric vehicles (EVs), railway, fast chargers, data centre racks, consumer appliances, and solar power inverters, an official statement said.3D Glass Solutions Inc (3DGS) will be setting up a vertically integrated advanced packaging and embedded glass substrate unit in Info Valley, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. This unit will bring the world's most advanced packaging technology to India. Advanced packaging brings the next generation of efficiency to semiconductor industry, the statement facility will have a large variety of advanced technologies, including glass interposers with passives and silicon bridges, and 3D Heterogeneous Integration (3DHI) capacity of this unit will be approximately 69,600 glass panel substrates, 50 million assembled units, and 13,200 3DHI modules per annum. The proposed products will have significant applications in defence, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, RF and automotive, photonics and co-packaged optics and leader Mishra said the process of setting up semiconductor units in Odisha was initiated under the leadership of former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the BJD government. Yogendra Yadav appears in Supreme Court with 2 voters declared dead in Bihar SIR, ‘drama,' says Election Commission
Political activist Yogendra Yadav on Tuesday brought to the Supreme Court two people who have been declared dead in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in poll-bound Bihar. Yadav, who addressed the Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi in person, said that the names of these two people do not appear in the electoral rolls because they have been declared dead. "Please see them. These are declared as dead. They don't appear. But they are them," Yadav told the Court during the hearing of a batch of petitions challenging the Bihar SIR, legal news website Bar and Bench reported. Yadav is one of the petitioners in the case. Senior Advocate Rakesh Dwivedi, appearing for the Election Commission of India, termed the submission a "drama". Justice Bagchi said that this may have been an inadvertent error. "May have been an inadvertent error. Can be corrected. But your points are well taken," the judge said. Yadav, however, said that the SIR, by design, was leading to mass exclusion. "Vast exclusion has already is much more than 65 lakhs. This is not a failure of implementation of SIR, but because of the fact that wherever you implement SIR, the result will be the same," Yadav said. Yadav also said that people have never been asked to submit their forms in a revision exercise in the country's history. "If it was done in 2003, the other side should point it out," he said, adding that the SIR had not led to any additions. This was an exercise in intensive deletion, he claimed. "What was special in 2003 was that SIR was done apart from the word 'intensive' being used. This is the first exercise in the history of the country where revision has taken place with zero additions. Zero additions." Yadav called the entire process "dreadful" and said that the SIR was the largest exercise of disenfranchisement. "We also have confirmation that women have deleted more than men. 31 lakh women have been deleted...25 lakh men have been deleted," he added. Yadav also pointed to two people within the courtroom who were allegedly declared dead by the electoral authorities. "The figure is bound to cross 1 crore. This is not an issue of revision. Please see them. These are declared as dead. They don't appear. But they are them," he said. The Supreme Court, during the hearing, called the special intensive revision (SIR) row in poll-bound Bihar "largely a trust deficit issue' as the Election Commission of India (ECI) claimed roughly 6.5 crore people of the total 7.9 crore voting population didn't have to file any documents for them or their parents featured in the 2003 electoral roll. During the hearing, a bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi remarked that it "largely appears to be a case of trust deficit, nothing else' as it questioned the petitioners challenging the Election Commission's 24 June decision to conduct the SIR on the ground that it would disenfranchise one crore voters. "If out of 7.9 crore voters, 7.24 crore voters responded to the SIR, it demolishesthe theory of one crore voters missing or disenfranchised," the bench told senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for petitioner and RJD Member of Parliament Manoj Jha. These are declared as dead. They don't appear. But they are them. Sibal, during the hearing, said that while in one constituency, contrary to the poll panel's claims, 12 people declared dead were found alive, in another instance, alive persons were declared dead.
