Volunteers place flags at veterans' graves ahead of Memorial Day

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – In preparation for Memorial Day at the end of the month, volunteers spent Saturday morning placing flags on veterans' graves.
Around 100 flags were placed on the graves of veterans at Lake Park Cemetery on Midlothian Boulevard in Boardman.
Volunteers say they enjoy seeing younger people helping out, as it gives them a chance to learn more about veterans.
The flags will stay up through Veterans Day.
'If we don't take care of those, the history is lost, number one, the love of our veterans is lost. We look forward to being able to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice,' said John Brown, with AMVETS.
