Talks and terrorism cannot go on at the same time, says all-party delegation leader Baijayant Panda
Manama [Bahrain], May 25 (ANI): The all-party delegation from India to Bahrain, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda explained India's measured and calibrated response towards Pakistan's actions and brought to attention how terror emanating from Pakistan has been a threat not only to India but to world peace at large.
Speaking in Bahrain on Saturday, BJP MP Baijayant Panda shared how India has time and again extended an olive branch to Pakistan, however, the efforts have not been reciprocated.
'Earlier we tried everything. We have tried talks with them. We have tried peace initiatives. Prime ministers have gone in bus... Nothing has worked. But finally, India's change doctrine is as follows... that we can and we will retaliate... So this time also our response was clear. It was very precise, very measured. And non-escalatory in nature until they decided to escalate it further.'
He added, 'Talks and terrorism cannot go on at the same time. Blood and water cannot flow at the same time... We want friendly relations, but talks have not helped. Cultural exchanges have not helped... If Pakistan takes credible steps to undo its terror infrastructure and take action against the terrorists... we will be more than happy to respond with friendly steps. That's what we would wish.'
Former envoy Harsh Vardhan Shringla told the gathering about India's response to the horrific attack in Pahalgam. He said, 'Our Strikes were focused on the infrastructure of terrorism inside Pakistan. So, as you would see from the satellite pictures. The strikes have been very, very precise and calibrated. There has been hardly any collateral damage, and from that perspective, we wanted to say that our fight is against terrorism.'
He added, 'Pakistan upped the ante by sending as many as 800 projectiles through drones, through loitering munitions, through fixed wing aircraft, through quadcopters any which way possible... but the damage was in many senses minimal because our indigenous systems- the Akash system and other systems that were there were able to withstand in a certain sense comparable to any Iron Dome, the sort of onslaught that Pakistan had... It is a testimony to the success of our indigenous defence manufacturing as part of 'Make in India'.'
He further underscored, 'It is not a strike which is on innocent civilians. It is a strike at the heart of terrorism... I think it is very important that the international community stands with us... Terrorism will affect everybody. The leader of our delegation has already pointed out that there's a history of terrorism emanating from Pakistan that has affected countries across the world, not just India. So whether it is 9/11 or bombings in London or anywhere else, there is a link with Pakistan, which is the epicentre of terrorism, and we have to deal with it in a unified manner across the globe.'
Speaking during the interaction about the IMF and Pakistan, MP Nishikant Dubey said, 'From last two, three days, IMF is insisting Pakistan... don't divert this money anywhere else.'
His remarks came amid the background of the 11 additional conditions imposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Pakistan.
According to a report by Pakistan-based Express Tribune, the IMF has placed 11 new conditions on Pakistan for the release of the next tranche of the bailout package meant for its struggling economy.
Among the conditions is the approval of a Rs 17.6 trillion budget for the financial year 2025-26, in line with IMF targets. Another condition asks Pakistan to implement new Agriculture Income Tax laws. This includes setting up systems for return filing, taxpayer registration, communication efforts, and a compliance plan. The deadline for this is June 2025. A third condition requires the publication of a governance action plan based on the IMF's Governance Diagnostic Assessment. The IMF also wants Pakistan to prepare and publish a financial sector strategy for the period after 2027, outlining its institutional and regulatory plans from 2028 onwards.
During the event, BJP MP Rekha Sharma reiterated the stance of PM Modi in her remarks that terror and talks cannot go on.
The all-party delegation, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, includes Nishikant Dubey MP, BJP; Phangnon Konyak, MP, BJP; Rekha Sharma MP, NJP; Asaduddin Owaisi MP, AIMIM; Satnam Singh Sandhu MP; Ghulam Nabi Azad; and Ambassador Harsh Shringla.
The delegation aims to brief international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria. (ANI)

The work we are doing is in front of the public." Nada stated that the Modi administration demonstrated effective and decisive leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasised that India conducted the largest vaccination campaign globally, administering 220 crore free double-dose vaccines, which cannot be compared with other countries. "We've demonstrated proactive governance through various operations like Operation Devi Shakti, Operation Rahat, Operation Maitri, Operation Vaccine Maitri, and Operation Ganga. Amit Shah's speech in Madurai abominable, divisive and misleading: DMK leader A. Raja
DMK deputy general secretary and the Nilgiris MP, A. Raja, on Monday (June 9, 2025), said the speech of senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Madurai on Sunday was nothing but 'an utter lie, a pledge for divisive politics, and abominable vengeance.' Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said it was unbecoming of a Home Minister to forget his position, duty, and responsibility by making baseless allegations aimed at creating communal divisions and inciting unrest in a peaceful State governed by an opposition party, for political gain. 'His speech was abominable and does not augur well for federalism or the smooth relationship between the State and the Centre,' Mr. Raja said, reiterating his belief that the people of Tamil Nadu would not be swayed by Mr. Shah's 'cheap tactics and politically motivated speech.' Mr. Raja claimed the BJP government at the Centre was unable to digest the development and progress achieved by the DMK government under the leadership of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who has ensured the continuation of welfare schemes and development projects using state funds, as the Centre has failed to allocate funds on time. 'The Centre and the BJP have enacted a shameful drama in violation of political decency because they cannot stomach the State's growth. This does not reflect well on Amit Shah and his position as Union Home Minister. He should stop such political games,' he contended. Rejecting the suggestion that Mr. Shah's visit to Tamil Nadu had been a 'shock' to the DMK, Mr. Raja said, on the contrary, it was the BJP that felt the shock of the DMK's achievements. 'That is why they sent Mr. Shah to Tamil Nadu. The people of Tamil Nadu have rejected the BJP's communal and divisive politics and stand solidly behind the DMK in all elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tamil Nadu five times during the previous Lok Sabha polls. His repeated visits show who is afraid of whom,' he said. Mr. Raja claimed the DMK had fulfilled all its electoral promises except for its assurance to government employees (on restoring old pension scheme). 'But the Chief Minister has constituted a committee to study their demands. We are not afraid of Modi or Amit Shah. Their ideology may win elections elsewhere, but the Dravidian ideology is an antidote to the BJP's ideology. They cannot set foot in Tamil Nadu as long as the Dravidian ideology is alive,' he said. When asked about the Lord Murugan conference (Murugan maanadu) being planned by the BJP in Madurai (on June 22), he charged that unlike the conference organised by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, the BJP's motive was to incite communal sentiments against minorities. 'The people of Madurai do not accept their motives. Why has Mr. Amit Shah, who ranted about his love for Tamil, not answered why the Centre has not accepted the report on Keeladi (excavation)? Their mindset is against Tamils and the Dravidian ideology, and they will face the consequences in the 2026 Assembly elections. The visits of Mr. Modi and Mr. Shah only strengthened the DMK's prospects,' Mr. Raja felt.

"Will take decision today": Parameshwara on Centre's request to transfer Suhas Shetty's murder case to NIA
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 9 (ANI): Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Monday said that the Central Home Ministry has sent a letter to the state government asking it to hand over the Suhas Shetty murder case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and a decision on it will be taken soon. Speaking to the mediapersons, Parameshwara said, 'The Central Home Ministry has written a letter to the State government to hand over the case of the murder of Suhas Shetty to the NIA. I believe yesterday the letter came, I learn that from the Director General of police (DGP), and today, we are going to decide on it...' Shetty, a prominent right-wing youth leader associated with the Bajrang Dal in Karnataka's coastal belt, was brutally murdered last month in Sullia town of Dakshina Kannada district. The activist, in his early 30s, was attacked by unidentified assailants while returning home late at night. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The incident triggered widespread protests in the region, with local Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) units alleging a targeted killing. Meanwhile, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra targeted the Siddaramaiah government over the murder of former Bajrang Dal activist Suhas Shetty. He called the Congress government 'anti-Hindu' and alleged that the Hindu activists have been constantly attacked in the state. Speaking to ANI on Monday, Vijayendra said, 'Hindu karyakartas have been consistently attacked here in the state ever since Congress has come to power... Due to the appeasement politics of the Siddaramaiah government, no action has been taken so far against any organisation or anti-national elements... In the recent Suhas Shetty murder case, the Home Minister was forced to cancel his visit to Suhas Shetty's house. This Siddaramaiah government is anti-Hindu.' He added that the party workers had met the Governor of Karnataka, Thaawar Chand Gehlot, and demanded that the investigation be transferred to the National Investigating Agency (NIA), which the Centre agreed to.
