MIDAR Reports Over 500% Surge in FY2024 Profits
The results reflect a significant increase in revenue and net profit growth rates, driven by the company's successful partnerships with major real estate developers in Egypt to advance projects within MIDAR's cities.
The company's financial statements for FY 2024 revealed a remarkable revenue growth rate of 584%, underscoring the substantial progress in its operations over the past year.
In terms of net profit, MIDAR continued its strong performance in the Egyptian market, solidifying its position as the preferred investment partner for local, regional, and global entities seeking to develop world-class real estate and entertainment projects. The net operating profit for 2024 surged by over 500% compared to the profits achieved in 2023.
Eng. Ayman Elkousey, CEO and Managing Director of MIDAR for Investment and Urban Development, emphasized that these positive results reflect MIDAR's established leadership, achieved through years of dedicated work in the Egyptian market. He noted that the company's robust financial indicators demonstrate the success of MIDAR's pioneering approach as the master developer of sustainable integrated cities in Egypt. This success further incentivizes major investment entities to partner with MIDAR in developing modern, integrated residential and entertainment cities.
Elkousey also expressed his pride in MIDAR's recognition by the Ministry of Finance during the 'Shokran' (Thank You) Conference, held in collaboration with the Egyptian Tax Authority. This acknowledgment highlights MIDAR's pivotal role in supporting the government's efforts to modernize the tax system. The honor reflects the state's appreciation for leading economic entities that uphold transparency, foster partnership, and strengthen trust between the government and taxpayers.

Plans are afoot to increase Egypt's poultry production and up the volume of exports. 'The Ministry of Agriculture aims to raise Egypt's poultry production to 1.6 billion birds, up from 1.4 billion last year, and to increase egg production to 16 million eggs a year,' said Tarek Suleiman, head of the Livestock and Poultry Development Sector at the ministry this week. 'The ministry is also adopting measures to ensure the full availability of poultry and eggs in the local market before exporting any surplus,' he noted, adding that a committee will be in charge of determining the sector's exports based on market supply and consumer demand. Egypt resumed its poultry exports in 2020 after a 14-year hiatus following the certification of 14 Egyptian facilities by the World Organisation for Animal Health as free of avian flu. It had stopped exporting poultry following an outbreak of avian flu in 2006. Adel Al-Alfi, managing director of the Cairo Poultry Company, said that exports contribute to the growth of the poultry industry by generating hard currency, vital for importing production inputs, especially feed, which is entirely imported. Egypt's poultry exports include chicks, day-old parent stock, frozen chickens, and poultry products such as nuggets and burgers. Increasing exports hinges upon expanding the poultry industry and is affected by declining domestic purchasing power, which may cause supply to exceed market demand, Al-Alfi said. Presidential decrees 139/2020 and 94/2021 promote the establishment of poultry projects in the desert away from the congested Nile Valley and Delta. Several projects have been implemented as a result, and their production is available locally and for export. The General Federation of Poultry Farmers has signed protocols with national banks to secure financing for these projects, provide logistical and technical support to poultry producers, enhance farm efficiency, and transition from open to closed systems to increase production and revenue and lower production costs. Investment in the poultry sector exceeds LE100 billion, Suleiman said. The commercial and rural sectors produce 1.4 billion and 320 million broiler chickens, respectively. Broiler production covers 97 per cent of national demand, and with annual production of 14 million eggs Egypt is self-sufficient in eggs, he added. The poultry industry employs 3.5 million people. Annual per capita consumption of poultry is estimated at 20 kg and of eggs at about 140. Some 40 companies export poultry products to 20 countries across the Arab World, Asia, and Africa, Suleiman said, stressing that the volume of poultry exports per month is calculated after factoring in local demand. To maintain the reputation of Egyptian poultry exports, companies are approved for exporting based on their certifications and compliance with the requirements of the importing country, he added. The Ministry of Agriculture is implementing plans to increase production in order to reduce final product prices and increase exports. The plans include the ongoing implementation of large-scale poultry projects in the desert, some of which have already begun production. They also involve the conclusion of cooperation protocols between the Ministry of Agriculture and national banks such as the National Bank of Egypt and the Agricultural Bank. Besides offering technical, logistical, and financial support to small-scale farmers to boost production and enhance profitability, the protocols are meant to facilitate the licensing process for poultry farming, ensure safety on poultry farms, improve efficiency through proper veterinary supervision, and secure all production inputs, particularly feed. A report by the Livestock and Poultry Development Sector stated that the recent surge in poultry production had resulted from government policies, such as the simplification of licensing procedures and the facilitation of poultry operations while adhering to safety standards. East Africa stability in focus during Egypt–Kenya foreign ministers call - Foreign Affairs
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed in a phone call on Thursday with Kenya's Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, recent regional developments in East Africa. According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers affirmed their commitment to ongoing coordination in regional and international fora to advance shared interests and stability in the region. Addressing water security, FM Abdelatty stressed in the call he held with the Kenyan counterpart the importance of adherence to international law regarding shared water resources. He reiterated Egypt's rejection of any unilateral measures in the Eastern Nile Basin that violate international legal norms and called for cooperation based on mutual benefit and legal principles. The ministers also agreed on the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation, particularly through key platforms such as the upcoming fifth edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, scheduled for October. Minister Abdelatty extended an official invitation to his Kenyan counterpart to attend the forum, highlighting its importance in linking peace, security, and development across the continent. He also encouraged Kenya to benefit from Egypt's financing mechanism for development projects in Southern Nile Basin countries, particularly in the fields of water resource management, irrigation, and sustainable development. In addition, the Egyptian minister highlighted Egypt's willingness to support Kenya through training and capacity-building programs offered by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) and the Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA). These include specialized programs in disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR), and broader security and stability efforts. Minister Abdelatty further noted the role of Al-Azhar in promoting tolerance and moderation, expressing Egypt's readiness to organize counter-extremism training courses for Kenyan imams.
