
Tata Punch.ev Gets Updated With New Colours, Fast Charging; Check Details
Diving into the details, the exterior design of the Tata Punch.ev remains the same without any revisions. As part of the aforementioned update, it has now received Supernova Copper and Pure Grey paint schemes. Apart from that, the electric vehicle continues to have Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Fearless Red, Seaweed Green, and Empowered Oxide paint scheme options.
Regarding the charging update, the Punch.ev can now achieve a charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes or can provide 90 kilometers of range in 15 minutes when using a DC fast charger with a capacity of 50kW or more. It's worth noting that this enhancement is available only for the Long Range versions.
The electric SUV offers two battery pack choices - 25kWh and 35kWh, with the latter being the Long Range variant. These battery options, combined with a single electric motor, are said to deliver an impressive range of 365 kilometers and 265 kilometers, respectively, based on the MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 cycle.
Tata Punch.ev is currently sold at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is part of the brand's extensive lineup of electric vehicles, including models like Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Nexon.ev, Curvv.ev, and the latest of them all, the Harrier.ev.
In terms of features, the Punch.ev gets features such as a 10.25-inch dual-screen configuration (one for infotainment and another for instrumentation) that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, it comes with automatic air conditioning featuring rear vents, an air purifier, a six-speaker audio system, which includes two tweeters, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and a single-pane sunroof.
The safety features include six airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. It also incorporates a blind spot view monitor, hill hold assist, and hill descent control.

About 50% public chargers remain non-functional: Tata reveals insights in latest report
Tata Motors has released key insights about electric vehicle users as part of the 'India Charging Report 2025'. The latest report reveals key details about EV adoption, charging patterns, usage, and more. The report highlighted the challenges associated with charging, and out of a total of 25,000 public chargers, nearly 12,000 were identified as non-functional. About 38 per cent of customers surveyed by Tata found the unreliable chargers as a major obstacle hindering EV adoption. The report revealed that EV owners cover 40 per cent more distance than ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles, with an average monthly running of 1,600 km, up by 11 per cent from 2023 to 2025. The report also said that EVs are now the primary vehicles for 84 per cent of EV owners in 2025, up by 74 per cent in 2023. Furthermore, the number of public chargers grew by four times between 2023 and 2025, reaching 24,000 charging stations across highways and urban centres, the report revealed. The report also suggests that about 25 per cent of chargers in India are reaching utilisation levels above profitability thresholds, making them commercially viable owing to technology standardisation. About 35 per cent of Tata EV users reported using a fast charger at least once a month as of July 2025, up from 21 per cent in 2023. Increasing Dependence on Public Charging Around 77 per cent of Tata EV owners have taken trips that require public charging, and nearly 14,000 owners primarily rely on the public charging ecosystem. In terms of shortcomings, the report stated that customers are struggling with 17-20 separate apps to locate and pay for charging. Users also reported payment barriers with chauffeurs, and the elderly reported difficulties with digital payments. The Indian automaker had exited the South African market in 2019 but is now set to resume operations, capitalizing on rising demand for budget vehicles in the company stated that South Africa is an important part of its overseas growth strategy and that customers in the market will be offered a range of vehicles that are safe, stylish, and innovation-driven, according to updates shared by Financial Express also reported that Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said that the brand aims to provide a distinctive mobility experience, supported by competitive pricing, financing options, and strong after-sales service.
